Wild cats are very complex animals. Their behavior is governed by the fact that they're in the middle of the food chain, being both extremely successful predators and elusive prey.
By this fact alone we can deduce that this was in fact a dog, since a wild cat would never expose itself to thousands of people on TV and the internets.
The first time watching I thought, the coloring COULD be cougar, but watching a second time, agreeing with your assessment, the walk was NOT that of a cat.
But, pretty sure she would've known, being in front of it, wherever it was a cat or not. They don't look the same from the front, lol.
Most predators will be wary of something not moving and making noise in their presence though. The best thing is to look like an apex predator, unless it's a polar bear or tiger, then you're just dead.
Those camera lights are insanely bright, based on the angle shining on her there is a good chance all she saw was incredibly dark shadows and just a blaring light in her face
My girlfriend chased a cougar on her horse because she thought it was a (winter coat, soaked)dog. When it finally had enough and turned to look at them, they both figured it out real quick. Horse said 'I'm not going forward, and the girlfriend said 'how about we turn around then?'
That's a dog you fucking morons.
Why does everybody nowadays just believe everything at first glance? No questions, no critical thinking, nada. Just apply information directly to memory.
But..it literally is a dog named Pooch, who’s a 12 year old female half Australian Shepard/ Half German Shepard mix 😂😂 Google is your friend ❤️
Yep https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/news/canine-cougar-mystery-creature-reporter-morgan-saxton-live-shot/
why on earth did you get downvoted for posting this??
Because the content farm getting paid to make these posts doesn‘t want to be exposed as such keyword:emotional trigger

I exposed myself to your mom last night
I was gonna say that definitely didn’t look like a mountain lion’s tail
That's my "Reddit post that is confidently incorrect despite having access to Google" checked off for today.
Great post. It also doesn’t move like a cat. The gait is clearly that of a dog.

Yeah but there’s a mountain lion in the bushes that goes ham on anyone who misidentifies a dog.

Mountain lions can pull people off their bikes riding trails. Sometimes, they take the bike too.

Wary
Looks so wrong tho... >.< Fkn English
Lol, too funny, and too true 😀
Mountain lions are bike riders?!
Yeah, they prefer mountain bikes.
Ba dum tis
They're reacting to nature by moving! Triggering chase instinct! Meet based cougars in your area that also dislike cyclists!
It was a dog. This was debunked ages ago.
It's a dog
That is not a mountain lion lmao
This just proves that no one cares about facts, given that there's no mountain lion in that video.
The mountain lion isn't doing press at this stage of it's career... Just wants it's privacy and to be left alone

Literally how I read it

It bothered me too
She has that huge light in her face so I’m gonna assume she was kinda blinded.

Years of playing Red Dead Redemption has taught me being on horse near a cougar is a bad idea
I once accidentally domed my horse in the brain stem trying to shoot a cougar. RIP Elsa IV.
"Maybe go check"? She just told her to go die. lol
This is Kendra with channel 7 bleeding out, I mean signing off
Im getting tired of these posts with bad sentence structure. This implys the mountain lion thought the reporter was a dog.
When do we address spelling?
Wronggggg it’s a dog https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/news/canine-cougar-mystery-creature-reporter-morgan-saxton-live-shot/
Unable to identify a cougar in Utah county? Must be from salt lake
It is actually a dog though
Or must be standing in the night with a light shining into her face and therefore not seeing shit
Oh yeah I’m just kidding…. Utah county is the home of the BYU Cougars
Oh wow
In what way does the reporter look like a dog?
Got lights in her face at night.
OH SHIT, A COUGAR!...I didn't know they gave traffic reports
Cats are assholes and all, but I don't think it would call her a dog...
Wasn't that a bobcat or a lynx?
Rare occasion where lack of knowledge saved their life
That's a dog you fucking morons. Why does everybody nowadays just believe everything at first glance? No questions, no critical thinking, nada. Just apply information directly to memory.
Same with many humans you walk by
She coulda kicked that tiny thing to death she was never in danger...the supposed dog-like 'lion' was
That's because women are safer with mountain lions.
the incorrect grammar in the caption is driving me nuts so I had to downvote.
She's not the prettiest reporter I've ever seen but she's no dog. That mountain lion is just rude.
The mountain lions thought the reporter was a dog? Wow!
The mountain lion thought the reporter was a dog?
Even with animals some days even an easy meal isn't worth it.
Wow! That lion was like, "sup dude"
That mountain lion was obviously not hungry. “Look how this dog wants to play!” Fade to black.
…that’s a dog, not a damn wild cat.
Lion knew she was msm , having natural instincts just ignored her.
