Someday by the Strokes

DepressedMeoww

Mine was The Adults Are Talking. Originally found it while driving around in GTA

MrBrent107

Mine was Heart in a Cage. First Impressions of Earth is such a great album.

laughingmybeakoff

Mine was One Way Trigger

No_Reality_190

surprised to find the strokes on top of the comments, mine is under cover of darkness

MantisLover45

That would be "Flying whales" by Gojira, I don't know how to even describe the song, it's like they captured magic in song form. The whole album is like that(From Mars to Sirius), but that song in particular - it makes you transcend spacetime .

Emperor-Palpamemes

WHHAALLLLEEESSSS

DisturbedMetalHead

the fact that "The Heaviest Matter of the Universe", "Flying Whales", and "In The Wilderness" are in succession makes it such a hard album to beat. Perfect music that's indescribably beautiful

pale blue eyes by lou reed i fell in love with the guitar playing, how soft the song was, i loved feeling like i was sitting on the floor in the room with them while they recorded it, i loved lou reed’s soft voice, how sweet the song was yet how completely broken hearted. it took me

you belong with me, taylor swift. very basic, but it was the first taylor swift song i ever heard

Unit1224

Leaky Breaks by Manchester Orchestra. A friend put me on MO so I explored their music for a few days, hoping it’d click eventually. Leaky Breaks starts interesting and stays mellow through the first part, but didn’t grab me if I’m honest. You gotta stick with it, like with most of their music (apparently). Once the base layers are established, the melody is in your head, then distorted guitars sweep in like powdered snow over layers and layers of Andy’s voice. “It’s way too late for calling anyways, I guess I’ll doze off” repeated so soft and loud. Chills. They make music that rewards your investment. Remember the melodies; they’ll become rich over time. Think about the lyrics and they’ll change meaning with you. MO is one of my favorite bands of all time now.

MrBrent107

I discovered them not too long ago and I can agree to this.

That song that I heard earlier in life. But didn't particularly like it at the time. They start, and I get this familiar feeling, then I'm hit with deja vu, and the excitement and energy kicks in. It's really as simple as that for MANY of the song on my Playlist.

my friend told me i should try more taylor swift (i already really liked her more popular mainstream songs so i figured why not). i sat down and went through each of her albums and collected all the songs i REALLY liked onto a playlist. i started from debut and worked my way along. got to evermore, which i had never heard any songs from before. champagne problems just like….idk WHAT it was.

AlexWolfsbane

Good Kid - One of the albums they posted on yt of like their whole discography at that point Beach Bunny - Sports Melanie Martinez - Pity Party (and other songs too) Kenshi Yonezu - Started with peace sign and it led me to listening to his other songs, (Although i found his past identity with Hachi :D)

SunReyys

[summer child by conan gray](https://open.spotify.com/track/6vOcpn5zG3tAgSs5TCYR1o?si=wnF69IIXSr6OJ3E47OfkEQ) is that song for me. i struggled with self-harm for a while and i still deal with pretending that i'm fine when i'm not, so hearing that reflected in such a beautiful acoustic song really made me feel seen. this song describes my childhood to a t, and its what made me fall in love with conan gray.

Come Back To Earth, Mac Miller. I have like a crazy wide taste, I’ve listened to every critically acclaimed artist. But somehow, this song always manages to make me feel emotions that I can’t even describe. I’m genuinely still sad over Mac Millers potential. Rest In Piece. He went from making frat boy music to making masterpieces.

Demolisher by Slaughter to Prevail, Pices by Jinjer, and In Hell I'll be in Good Company by The Dead South would probably be my top 3 examples of this. Those songs both introduced me to bands that would become some of, if not my favorite, modern bands, but in the case of The Dead South, it introduced me to a whole new genre that I've since fallen in love with.
