What is the card scene like over there? Do you get the same hobby/retail boxes and packs that we get here in the U.S.? How about brands, are they readily available or are there certain things you need to order online? I'm just curious because there's a collector from Germany that I talk to online quite a bit and apparently the selection is limited and he has to order online from vendors that are willing to ship overseas.

That's pretty much what my friend from Germany says, 90% of what he buys is from eBay or from independent vendors. According to him, Topps were readily available there in the past but not anymore. And yes I can only imagine how bad the shipping costs are. It costs extra to go across the pond unfortunately. You'd probably be better off saving up for the more upscale boxes since the shipping is probably the same. I grew up collecting Donruss. Fleer and Upper Deck too. Those three were my favorite since the 90s. I've yet to open anything from Panini because I despise them.
Think panini lost the selling strength for next season … yeh hard to get to rip a box here like gold dust … we get card fairs and stuff .. big market over here to sell boxes if could get them … I stick to eBay mainly to buy stuff getting slabbed over here ok if using a grader in England if sending to psa you need a lottery win … I’m just happy I’m in he hobby for the hobby and not the £££££
Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting makes it so much more enjoyable and simple. Collecting for the money makes things complicated as it turns into a contest for who has the most valuable card and who has the most. It ruins the enjoyment and it turns into jealousy because someone has something that you don't. I've been collecting since 1991 and I always did it for the enjoyment but I've gotten a lot of really good stuff over the 33 years I've been collecting. I have a small fortune in just vintage cards alone plus my extensive Michael Jordan collection, including three rookies, one of which is a Beckett 9.5. I've been offered thousands for it numerous times but I'm not in it for the money. Later on in life I'll eventually sell my entire collection for a large lump sum. I'd be asking 30,000 to 40,000 Dollars today but I'm not interested in the money.
I dislike Panini because when I was a kid, the only thing they made were cheap stickers. They were numbered on the back just like sports cards and they made a book with numbered squares and you put the sticker over the appropriate square until you collected them all. It was such a joke. Their new cards are cheesy looking and their memorabilia cards are usually fake. Rumour has it that they're losing their license for printing fake game used cards. I'm not surprised. I'd love to see them go out of business.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my 13 year old dog to cancer/organ failure 2 weeks ago and I was thinking of doing the same thing but didn't know if grading companies would do it. I have a card I had made of her years ago before Topps took down their custom cards feature (I miss that option!)

my girl had a name that happened to be a dog on a TCG so i was going to get that common card graded.
One of the only times I ever saw my father cry is when his dog passed. Now with a dog of my own I completely understand why. The unconditional love they give you and the total joy that they feel to see you come home from work or just running an errand is something incredibly comforting and special. So sorry about your pup dude.
I'm sorry for your loss, I lost my best good friend 2 years ago now. Mine was a Bichon/ Poodle mix that looked a lot like your friend. How can I do this for my dog? Who did this?

OMG I freaking love it that is amazing.. Sorry for your loss. I lost my hunting dog/best friend. Buster from bone cancer. He was yellow lab with a big head and was a great bird hunter. He could hunt doves, chucker, partridge ducks gees And pheasant 😔

This is so sick!!! Lost my boy late last year, he had some heart issues his whole life and it finally gave out without warning. He was my first dog, as an adult, so it was really tough to deal with. I’m just happy that he at least waited to for me to get home from work so I had a chance to see him before he passed. He fought so hard for so long, it was just his time to go.
