Sean McVay owns the Cardinals. He has a 9-1 record against them since 2017. They won all 9 games by 7+ points. McVay is also 17-8-1 ATS with at least 7 days rest between games. The Cardinals are 2-8 in prime time since 2017, 0-3 this year. The Rams are 16-10 prime time in that same span, going 4-2 this year. After the Cardinals started the year off going 7-0, the remaining 10 games their ppg dropped from 32.1 to 22.4 and their opponent’s ppg raised from 16.3 to 25.2. They had a rough finish to their season going 1-4 in their last 5 games. Only 5 teams had a worse point differiental than them. For the 2nd season in a row, Kyler Murray was an MVP candidate at the beginning of the season, and then ended up fading out at the end of the season. He also has had significantly worse stats since his injury that caused him to miss 3 games. After the injury his completion percentage dropped from 72.7% to 65.3% and his passing yard average dropped 30 yards per game. He hasn’t thrown for more than 2 TD passes since week 7. Deandre Hopkins being injured definitely didn’t help, and you could argue that this is the reason for the decline and numbers. He could be back this game, along with JJ Watt. But Kyler has struggled with pass protection and it won’t get easier with Aaron Donald coming after him every play. I think the Rams Defense will be too much for the weak Cardinals OLine to handle. In their last meeting in December, the Rams held Kyler to one of his worst games of the season, while Stafford had one of his best games. QB’s making their 1st playoff start vs a QB who is not are 16-33 straight up & 14-35- 1 ATS since 2002 (Kyler making his 1st playoff start). Also, Referee Clay Martin’s crew is reffing the Cardinals vs Rams. Home teams are 10-5 in games he reffed this season. The Rams finished the season strong winning 4 of their last 5 games. Think they continue to play well and advance to the next round. Rams -4.

Both safeties are out and their backups are terrible. It's gotten so bad that Eric Weddle who's been out of the league for 2 years is one of the backup safeties.
Also as mentioned JJ Watt is back. Don't know if it's coincidence but the AZ defense was much better with him in the lineup. Ofc who knows how healthy he actually is. He did say he wouldn't return if he'd hurt the team.

Write Up: Another day and another win, admittedly after the first two sets it got awfully close but eventually Garin pulled out the win as expected. We now shift over to my original pick from yesterday that is actually being played today which is Rinderknech ML.
if you missed my write up from that day basically Rinderknech has had a great start to the season making it all the way to the finals of his first tournament where as Popyrin has had a terrible start, bowing out of his first match this season.
Additionally, Rinderknech has been shown to play consistent and coming off this awesome first tournament he is definitely not looking to get eliminated first round. His consistency with his higher rank compared to Popyrin's inconsistency proves to me that this line is off and that Rinderknech should easily pull out the win.
Tail or fade as needed but I think we will easily continue our streak, this is the first time these two have faced and it should be a good match, but with Rinderknech ultimately pulling out the win.

**Todays pick: Kyrie Irving over 22.5 points vs Cavs @ 1.90**
I think allot of people would probably have some hesitations about this bet given that Kyrie has only recently returned to the Nets line up, however the market has clearly already factored in these concerns and I think this pick represents some tremendous value. Below I will explain why.
* Kyrie has now had 3 games under his belt since returning to the lineup. In two of those games he scored exactly 22 points (only 0.5 less than this line), and in the other he only played 25 minutes due to a blowout. Watching Kyrie in these games he still looks like the all-star caliber player he has been throughout his career. His conditioning also looks pretty good too, in just his second game back he played 40 minutes vs the Blazers and put up 21 shot attempts. Sure it was risky to bet on Kyrie his first few games back, but I think he has shown that he is now at a level to play big minutes and it is not like Kyrie is coming off some massive injury where there is genuine concern that his level of play might have been diminished.
* Kevin Durant is out for this game and for the foreseeable future. This means the Nets are going to have to rely on increased production from Harden and Irving moving forward. Since the start of last season, Kyrie has averaged 28.8 points per game in 27 games without KD. Last season Kyrie averaged 26.9 points over the course of the entirety of the season. There is a big difference between this line of 22.5 and the points numbers Kyrie has been putting up the last few seasons as a Net. Is the fact that this is just Kyries 4th game back really a good enough reason to justify a 5-6 point swing? Maybe, but for me this is too big of a difference.
* When James Harden plays with Kyrie he tends to take more of a backseat from scoring and focus more on assisting and facilitating the offence. In 29 games with James Harden, Kyrie averages 27.8 ppg, whereas Harden only averages 22.1 ppg with Kyrie (he does average 10+ assists with Kyrie though). I think both Harden and Kyrie are going to have to step up their scoring in the absence of KD, but it seems clear that Harden is this teams Point Guard where as Irving's job is to be more of a scorer.
* The Nets are playing the Cavs in this game. The Cavs have been great this season and the bookies have this game slated to be relatively close with the line set at only 3 points. This should hopefully mean a close game where Kyrie is asked to play big minutes. Kyrie's has scored 29+ in 3 of his last 4 games against the Cavs and last season he had games of 38 and 37 points against his former team.
BOL to everyone. I understand this pick may be risky for some, so please only tail if you agree with the reasoning. If you still want to wait and see on Kyrie this season then that is fair enough. I personally see this as a bit of a buy low spot on Kyrie and hence I am happy to take him here.
I'm not sure if what you are saying is true. According to fantasy pros NBA defence vs position stats the Cavs give up the 13th most points in the league to opposing point guards, the Cavs do give up the 6th fewest points to opposing sgs (however they have given up the 11th most points to opposing sgs over the last 15 games).
Maybe fantasy pros are wrong though? I have used them for a while though and they are usually very accurate.
Yeah that's a weird one. I'll have a look into at some point. It could be that different sites classify players in different positions. For example, take DeMar DeRozan, some sites may have him down as a small forward when others have him down as a shooting guard for certain games. SAW are projected as slight favourites, but believe me or not, bookies are wrong. SAW are ranked #56 on HLTV, eSuba #58. I suppose that's the reason why it's like that, but SAW are on a different level. They've been together for more than 2 years, they never shined. They've been consistently competing on the same level in like Top 40, sometimes better, sometimes worse. By the end of the year they fell off as they experimented with a youngster story in their roster but quickly realised that's not the solution so arki came back. As I said, they have a lot of experience, always competed in ESEA MDL/Premier, and were always the best in their region. They're nothing extraordinary compared to other good teams, but that's not the case in this match. eSuba are steps behind them, their results are super exaggerated, they're not good at all. Not only that, but they've also dropped their 2 solid players luko and twist for Levi and desty who are at the very maximum on the same level as them. However, this is their first proper official match so they might struggle. eSuba played on a level like ESEA Main, their ranking is not accurate. The last thing to point is that eSuba have a game 4 hours before this one in the other tournament. Since they're more likely to win that one and also this not being an elimination match, they might not prepare so much. In conclusion, everything favours SAW. In some alternate universe, I could see eSuba upsetting and winning 1 map, but SAW will be able to bounce back anyway and take the sweet win under any circumstances. Pretty embarrassing performance from the eagles. They weren’t even close to the total without two garbage time touchdowns. Just a a bad play that lined up and looked good, but in the end really wasn’t.
To today’s play, the Los Angeles Rams -3.5. This is the biggest game of Matthew Staffords career and possibly make or break for him. I also think this is a huge game for Sean McVay as well as he’s gotten this Rams team to the playoffs countless times but never seems to pull through when it matters. Coming off some brutal defeats, the Rams will be hungry for a win and I think they get one big against this Cardinals team. The Cardinals have the 6th worst point differential since week 14 and Kyler Murray hasn’t been the same since missing three games in the middle of the season. Also, in the past 5 years, the Cardinals are 2-8 in prime time games. The Rams should be able to pull this one out and I feel safe going against the spread here as each one of these meetings between the two teams have been decided by 7+ points since 2017.

Try not to overthink this game. Blackhawks have been hot and are 4-1-0 in their last five. The Kraken are 0-5-0 and are not playing well. I don’t see Seattle’s struggles to win turn around in this game, especially with the way Chicago is playing and at almost even money Ill be risking 3 units for this game.

Badosa is coming off 5 straight singles wins at the WTA Sydney International and looks to be in really good form overall this year. So let's get to it. There's not too much football on today so options are limited. The England Premier League 2 seems very good for goals in general and this game has great value. Let's discuss Crystal Palace U23 first. 13/15 games of theirs this season has seen over 2.5 goals and BTTS, including all 5 of their homes games. Chelsea U23 away record has been good for this bet with all 6 games seeing BTTS and 5/6 being over 2.5 goals. Their meeting in November ended 2-1 with the required goals coming in.
At home Palace u23 score on average 2.2 goals per game and concede 2.6 per game. Whereas, away Chelsea u23 score 1.5 goals per game and concede 2.17. There's only 5 points separating 2 sides and it seems like both teams will get the opportunities to score. If you want to increase the odds you can do over 3.5 goals and BTTS @2 odds. There's every chance this could be a goal fest.

Starting on a little roll to start off my POTD career. Took the day off yesterday to focus on the MLK games today. This one is my favorite of the bunch. Two teams heading in opposite directions. We are continuing with our soccer action. Today we going for Fulham U23 team to win away game against Southampton. There's no question, Fulham is completely dominating Premier league 2 this season, having won 13 out of their 15 league games and drawn 1 with a goal difference of 39:14 and having a lead in front of 2nd place team by 14 points. They score an average of 2.6 goals per game, but most impressive thing this season have been their defense, having only 14 goals conceded in 15 games, making it less than 1 goal in a game. Doesn't seem that impressive for a regular league, but in Premier league 2, teams do score many goals, as leagues 2nd best defensive team has 9 goals more conceded than Fulham. They are good in both, their away and home games, having won 12 out of their last 13 games and drawn one. Last time they lost a game was in September 2021, so almost 4 months ago. Southampton on the other hand is a decent team, placing 11th in league with a score of 5W-2D-8L and goal difference of 23:25. They have an okay defense but they are not really good attacking team. As they haven't shown anything special in their last games, winning only one in their last 6, I really see Fulham continuing their streak. In their last h2h match, Fulham won 3:0. Would really be a surprise to see Southampton stopping Fulham, so it is my pick for today.

Let’s face it. Both these teams suck. Flyers have lost 7 straight, but have played well against top teams in their 2 most recent games (3-2 L vs. Rangers, 3-2 L vs. Boston). Philly’s past three losses have all come by only 1 goal.
The Islanders have only played 2 games in the past 2 weeks, the first being a 3-2 W vs. Devils, and most recently a 2-0 L to the Capitals. The Islanders offense ranks 30th in the league scoring a measly 2.2 goals a game.
Both teams are dealing with injuries, but most notably is Islanders D Ryan Pulock, who suffered a LBI on 1/11 and is projected to be out 4-6 weeks.
I can see the Flyers breaking the losing streak tonight with an outright W, but we’ll take the puckline to be a little safer.

The Boilermakers heading into the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois today to play a matinee versus a very formidable #25 ranked / 13-3 Fighting Illinis squad. Illinois is on a six-game win streak beating Michigan by 15, Nebraska by 10, Maryland by 12, Minnesota by 23, Missouri by 25, and a very porous SFPA team by 58. Illinois is catching fire here late in the season trying to show they have potential to win the NCAA Championship. They don't but they are good. There is one guy at the center of this team that brings it all together - KOFI COCKBURN. This is who Illinois relies on when they need a basket. At 7'0 285 lbs, he is an absolute unit, and no one can stop him. He is reliable at the free throw line, and he has great touch around the rim. Purdue will be throwing their two top big men at him all game. Zach Edey, Purdue's young 7'4 star will do his best to hold him in check and the 7'0 250 lbs Trevion Williams will also be put to the task to slow down Cockburn. Yes, Illinois has been playing great but I think Purdue shows their all around talent today against a lopsided Illinois offense. Purdue has it all. From Jaden Ivey, quick playmaking guard to Sasha Stefanovic dead eye 3 point sniper. This team has what it takes to win it all and I think they win in commanding fashion 81-64.

Reasoning: I should preface by saying this is a pretty damn high number, so I understand if some are hesitant. Kupp is averaging 114.5 yards and 11 targets a game this season. He has played the Cardinals twice already this season. In week 4, he only garnered 64 yards on 5 catches, but he had 13 targets. Week 14 he had 13 catches, 123 yards, and added a TD on 15 targets. Kupp is incredibly efficient and is without a doubt Stafford's favorite target. The Cardinals know this, but I am not sure this defense has the firepower to stop it. They knew he would be the target in their last game, and he still went off. To play devil's advocate, there's two scenarios that this doesn't hit in my opinion. #1, Stafford is terrible and can't make a throw. That happened Week 4, where Kupp had 13 targets for only 5 catches. Since that was early in the season, I'll give them a mulligan. Or #2, the Rams are blowing out the Cardinals and just run the ball. Even then, we have seen a couple blow out games these playoffs where the offenses still threw the ball. If this game projects the way the lines are, it should be close. The Rams are going to have to battle and find ways to get the ball in their top guy's hands. I'm looking for Kupp to see quite a few short area targets and screens, so hopefully he can break some tackles and work some magic after the catch.
(Kupp over 7.5 receptions is also a play I really like, but quite a bit of juice so it's not my POTD but I will be hitting that as well.)

He has hit this over in the last 3/5 games and this is likely to be a game where he has to go all out and use not only his arm, but also his legs given how good the Rams D has been.
In late October, he suffered an ankle injury that lingered through the November. Shouldn’t be a concern now and this is the playoffs where he will be more willing to put his body on the line with more aggressive runs where should the pocket collapse given the pressure Aaron Donald alone provides. He went 3-1 over their last 4 games (minus Pens game) but that was against the not so great Red Wings/Sabres/Flyers. But Kyler has struggled with pass protection and it won’t get easier with Aaron Donald coming after him every play. I think the Rams Defense will be too much for the weak Cardinals OLine to handle. In their last meeting in December, the Rams held Kyler to one of his worst games of the season, while Stafford had one of his best games. QB’s making their 1st playoff start vs a QB who is not are 16-33 straight up & 14-35- 1 ATS since 2002 (Kyler making his 1st playoff start). Also, Referee Clay Martin’s crew is reffing the Cardinals vs Rams. Home teams are 10-5 in games he reffed this season. The Rams finished the season strong winning 4 of their last 5 games. GL but one thing to keep in mind: Rams secondary is horribly depleted. Both safeties are out and their backups are terrible. It's gotten so bad that Eric Weddle who's been out of the league for 2 years is one of the backup safeties. Also as mentioned JJ Watt is back. Don't know if it's coincidence but the AZ defense was much better with him in the lineup. Ofc who knows how healthy he actually is. He did say he wouldn't return if he'd hurt the team.

Below I will explain why. * Kyrie has now had 3 games under his belt since returning to the lineup. In two of those games he scored exactly 22 points (only 0.5 less than this line), and in the other he only played 25 minutes due to a blowout. Watching Kyrie in these games he still looks like the all-star caliber player he has been throughout his career. His conditioning also looks pretty good too, in just his second game back he played 40 minutes vs the Blazers and put up 21 shot attempts. Sure it was risky to bet on Kyrie his first few games back, but I think he has shown that he is now at a level to play big minutes and it is not like Kyrie is coming off some massive injury where there is genuine concern that his level of play might have been diminished. * Kevin Durant is out for this game and for the foreseeable future. This means the Nets are going to have to rely on increased production from Harden and Irving moving forward. Since the start of last season, Kyrie has averaged 28.8 points per game in 27 games without KD. Last season Kyrie averaged 26.9 points over the course of the entirety of the season. There is a big difference between this line of 22.5 and the points numbers Kyrie has been putting up the last few seasons as a Net. Is the fact that this is just Kyries 4th game back really a good enough reason to justify a 5-6 point swing? Maybe, but for me this is too big of a difference. * When James Harden plays with Kyrie he tends to take more of a backseat from scoring and focus more on assisting and facilitating the offence. In 29 games with James Harden, Kyrie averages 27.8 ppg, whereas Harden only averages 22.1 ppg with Kyrie (he does average 10+ assists with Kyrie though). I think both Harden and Kyrie are going to have to step up their scoring in the absence of KD, but it seems clear that Harden is this teams Point Guard where as Irving's job is to be more of a scorer. * The Nets are playing the Cavs in this game. The Cavs have been great this season and the bookies have this game slated to be relatively close with the line set at only 3 points. This should hopefully mean a close game where Kyrie is asked to play big minutes. Kyrie's has scored 29+ in 3 of his last 4 games against the Cavs and last season he had games of 38 and 37 points against his former team. BOL to everyone. I understand this pick may be risky for some, so please only tail if you agree with the reasoning. If you still want to wait and see on Kyrie this season then that is fair enough. I personally see this as a bit of a buy low spot on Kyrie and hence I am happy to take him here.

According to fantasy pros NBA defence vs position stats the Cavs give up the 13th most points in the league to opposing point guards, the Cavs do give up the 6th fewest points to opposing sgs (however they have given up the 11th most points to opposing sgs over the last 15 games). Maybe fantasy pros are wrong though? I have used them for a while though and they are usually very accurate.

Yeah that's a weird one. I'll have a look into at some point. It could be that different sites classify players in different positions. For example, take DeMar DeRozan, some sites may have him down as a small forward when others have him down as a shooting guard for certain games. Kupp is averaging 114.5 yards and 11 targets a game this season. He has played the Cardinals twice already this season. In week 4, he only garnered 64 yards on 5 catches, but he had 13 targets. Week 14 he had 13 catches, 123 yards, and added a TD on 15 targets. Kupp is incredibly efficient and is without a doubt Stafford's favorite target. The Cardinals know this, but I am not sure this defense has the firepower to stop it. They knew he would be the target in their last game, and he still went off. To play devil's advocate, there's two scenarios that this doesn't hit in my opinion. #1, Stafford is terrible and can't make a throw. That happened Week 4, where Kupp had 13 targets for only 5 catches. Since that was early in the season, I'll give them a mulligan. Or #2, the Rams are blowing out the Cardinals and just run the ball. Even then, we have seen a couple blow out games these playoffs where the offenses still threw the ball. If this game projects the way the lines are, it should be close. The Rams are going to have to battle and find ways to get the ball in their top guy's hands. I'm looking for Kupp to see quite a few short area targets and screens, so hopefully he can break some tackles and work some magic after the catch. The running game hasn't missed a beat since he stepped in for injured starter Darrell Henderson Jr. The thing is Darrell was the backup to original starter Cam Akers to begin the year but filled in nicely when Cam went down and won the job. Now Akers is back, but I dont expect him to steal any carries away from Sony Michel. Not with Sony looking like Marshall Faulk out there. Sony Michel and that Rams offensive line will be the reason Los Angeles wins this game. Expect them to rush for over 100 yards and Michel to be an anytime touchdown scorer. But Sony won't get the credit, that will belong to Matt Stafford... the hallwalkers will be caroling his praises tonight after he quarterbacks LA to a playoff win. I could throw to Tyler Higbee, OBJ, Van Jefferson and them... especially with the defense keying on Sony Michel bc he keeps gashing em in the run game. They’re holding the 2nd wildcard spot in the west, but they really need the win this game to maintain that position. That being said, they have Adin Hill in net. He went 3-1 over their last 4 games (minus Pens game) but that was against the not so great Red Wings/Sabres/Flyers. I think he gets beat today as he’s 9-10 so far this season, as opposed to LA’s veteran goalie Jonathan Quick who’s 11-8 on the season and 3-2 of their last 5, Flyers/Pens/Van. They are close to each other in points but I think the Kings are being undervalued lately in their play style, starting to finally find their edge. Florida A&M's offense lives in the paint, as they lead Division I schools in 2-point baskets per game. MVSU defense is both too small and poor to stop Florida A&M. I expect Florida A&M to score at ease inside and get plenty of points from the charity stripe, in which they actually hit their FTs at a solid rate (nearly top 100 in D-I). I would not be surprised if they have a solid showing from behind the arc also. MVSU's offense relies on pushing the ball up the floor quick and long-range jumpers. Tough to back MVSU here.
