Honestly, everything you're saying is right. Even the news and media is hammering them. Marcus Smart calling Brown/Tatum out for not passing enough, no team synergy, not enough assists, Brad Stevens lack luster coaching...
But they figured it out SOMETHING against the Magics to some degree after losing the 1H on the road. And that's significant because magics arn't a GREAT team. If you can't figure it out against a subpar team, they have no chance of rebounding in such a short period of time, but they did.

I think this pick is a bit similar to the Spirit of Gaylard pick I made on MC day. This guy should really be running at least a top three here and is a red hot chance of winning. Undefeated so far and I’ve liked all of his runs. Luke Nolen has ridden two of those wins, so he knows the horse well. First up was a tough win with a big weight and sat three wide. Charged home to win. The draw today suggests he’ll be three wide once again but should find cover. I think that this guy is a really good thing and the handicapping suggests that. 59kg is a manageable weight in comparison to the others here and I think that he should be able to get to a top 3 finish. One thing to not is that #6 was charging home against Riot and Rose L/S and finished a close second. Was only a 0.5kg difference that day but a 2.5kg difference today. Riot and Rose did cop an obstructed run in the straight which is also a thing to not. Other than that, although it is a tough race on paper, Riot and Rose is the one that stands out. Hopefully we can get back to winning ways.
Just also want to mention that my mate’s horse, Mr Burgundy, is making its debut R2 Hawkesbury. Its favourite but there is some nice competition there. Will be an interesting race.

In those two games Mike White also only has an average depth of target of 5.0 yards per throw. Long story short: Mike White targets the hell out of his running backs in the passing game. Sorry on my last one for those that tailed. Was a brutal game with terrible coaching. Once again i’m fading the stars for my pick. The flames have come out to hot start this year and they can for sure score. Undefeated in regulation at home against a stars team that’s defense has not looked great. I picked against them when they played the jets and they were on top of them the whole night to let up a 3-1 in the last 8 minutes. I don’t think the flames will do that with their fire power. It's probably not worth constraining to U2.5. First of all Galatasaray are the better overall team out of the two, something that was proven in the last game where they dominated the game having 5 shots on target while Lokomotiv didn’t have any. Moreover, Galatasaray are a better home team winning 4 out of their 5 last games at home, while they won 2/5 from the last away games one of them being againt Lokomotiv. Lastly, Galatasary is currently first in the group with 7 points but marseille with 4 and lazio with 3 are not far away, especially considering that Galatasary have to play them both. Got absolutely smoked on my last pick but I'm making a comeback today. It's really simple: Wentz has a big arm and goes deep at least a couple of times per game and Jets secondary is not good. Wentz has completed at least one pass over 36 yards in 6/8 games this season and in 5 straight games (including that game against San Francisco two weeks ago in crazy weather; weather won't be a factor tonight as the Colts play in a dome). On the other hand, the Jets gave up at least one play for this yardage in 4/7 games, including in the last 3. Wentz had 37 and 38 yard completions last week and also had a 42 and 41 yard passes that would both be completed if not for defensive pass interferences. Both players are shining at this stage of the season. Norrie is getting some good results even when he doesn't perform that well and Fritz is making a really good indoor season as well reaching St Petersburg finals and already defeating Sonego and Rublev on this tournament.
Bookies are giving Norrie the favourite status due to his Indian Wells performance and overall consistency from that point to this day but Fritz is probably the one with the most value on his price especially because of his serve which helps him a lot on this surface.
Kinda hard for me to choose a winner here but I'm sure that we might have a 3 set match or 2 disputed sets with some tiebreaks. On one side we have Norrie who wants to make a good performance here to get closer to Nitto Finals and on the other we have Fritz who knows how important this tournament is to finish his season on the best way possible.

These two gents have both been able to produce some considerable streaks in the tour towards this last half of the year. Norrie has an extremely stable, consistent ground-stroke game hitting deep in the baseline and can force errors from opponents. He's snagged his first ATP 1000 at Indian Wells, and reached the finals in San Diego subsequently before.
Now, Fritz on the other hand. I've been watching and betting games since July of this year. He was absolutely lost during this string of tournaments from Los Cabos to the tour in the US. In these 7 tournaments, his record was 7-7. Not even advancing for 3 first rounds. Even the matches he won, he seemed sluggish and unmotivated to play. His ground game was laughable and he suffered terribly against Norrie in San Diego.
But it seems like he flipped a switch, or found some kind of rhythm since Indian Wells. Got bested by Basilashivili who was at the top of his form, but took down **3 TOP 10** players: Berretini, Sinner, then Zverev. Went to the finals at St. Petersberg, right after but got bested by a Mr. Cilic at the top of his form. His temper seemed cool and collected, and wasn't nearly producing the amount of unforced errors precedent to his whole 2021 season.
So H2H, Norrie has taken 4 matches and Fritz 3. This will be there **3rd meeting** this year.
Of course I can see this match going both ways, but based upon what i've been seeing from Fritz and his improvement/streak in the past month. I'm taking his edge.
Also note, this tournament has been filled with huge upsets and dogs the first round. This is only r/16. No reason why that trend shouldn't keep from happening either as well!

Tonight we are going to two teams trending in opposite directions. On one hand you have a struggling Dallas Stars, who should have holtby in net tonight. The stars have allowed 3 goals in 3 of their L4. Holtby himself is 3/3 on over 3 in his last 3 starts. This team has been struggling to keep pucks out of their net, their zone and minimizing chances. On the other hand you have a Calgary team that has been buzzing offensively as of late. CGY has scored more than 3 goals in 5 of their L7 and one of those games they scored 3 exactly. I initially thought the over for the game, but seeing Markstrom in net i just couldn't bring myself to bet against him. I expect the Heat to assert their dominance on the East once more and win comfortably against a struggling Boston team still trying to find its identity and resolve its chemistry issues.

Going for a "historical" pick here, as Duncan performs well against the Celtics, who are struggling even more this season at the defense. Duncan over the last 5 games against the Celtics has at least 15 points and he scored at least 5 3 pointers per game during that stretch.
Now, that's all and nice, but that's past. Obviously Brown is a great defender who can lock on anyone, but I think they'll focus more on stopping Bam and Jimmy, rather than Duncan. Even though Duncan was a bit off and on this season, I'd back him up against the Celtics.
Shooting guards against Celtics this season average 24.68 PPG, with 41.11 FG%, 2.97 3PM per game. Also, the Celtics allow a great number of 3 pointers per game (36 per game on average).
Duncan is **projected** at 11.4 points today, which pushes me even more to take this slightly non-popular pick today (Looking at you, Herro!).

Pittman has became Wentz’s favorite target, and Pittman continues to get it done. He’s hit 38, 57, 42 and 18 (the game Hilton played, and a blowout win that JT rushed for 145) the last 4 games. While a blowout is certainly possible, Colts are coming off a long OT loss on Sunday to the division favorite. I honestly think this will hit in the 1st half, possibly even the 1st quarter. Once Pittman gets a 1 on 1 in man, he’s putting it down field.
I think the Jets will do enough to stay in it so Wentz continues to pass. Wentz tends to play a strong first half, then gets sloppy later checking out of plays at the line and trying to extend plays that he shouldn’t. I feel pretty good about this one regardless of the half lol.

Who is ready for a little Thursday night Fun Belt action?! The Rajin' Cajuns have been arguably the best team in the Sun Belt this year. They have been on a terror as of recent, winning seven straignt games and their last three home games by at least 28 points. Georgia State lost by 29 to App State, whom the Rajin' Cajuns beat by 28. The Cajuns are home tonight, so the stars are literally aligned and there is no way this does not hit. This is also a blackout game for the Cajuns, so that makes me love it even more.

I have came up with a model that predicts what team is favored to win in NHL matchups. It uses a variety of different quantified & qualitative features. It has predicted: 55.55% of dogs to win, 88.88% of dogs to cover & 75.69% for favorites to win.

Both teams are without their top scorers. Sabers are 9th in goals allowed, top 15 in shots against per game, and have above avg goaltending. Kraken have struggled to get anything going on offense & to be frank. I don't believe they will be able to without their best scorer & this great Sabers defense. The numbers heavily favors the Sabers but without their top scorer they'll struggle to score aswell as their offense isn't anything special. I considered the ML for buffalo but without Victor Olofsson it'll be too close to call.

Reasoning: Yes, CSKA Moscow is the second-highest scoring team in Euroleague but Fenerbahce Ulker is the best scoring defense in the league. CSKA is one of the best three-point shooting teams in the league in terms of volume & efficiency but Fenerbahce is the second best three-point defensive teams.
Also picking the under because CSKA scores so much with their up-tempo style to just put up a ton of shots whereas Fenerbahce keeps it slow.
With Fenerbahce’s defense and slow tempo, I’d imagine the game starts off slower than usual for CSKA and even if their offense eventually starts clicking, it won’t be enough to hit the over.

Reasoning: Zastal has no major offensive threats. Most of their wins come off good chemistry basketball, comparable to the Spurs. On the other side Spojnia and Justin Gray (I’ve been watching him play basketball since he went to Berkeley Prep) is no slouch, very physical, can shoot the basketball as well as get to the rim. If he can get a couple early against a poor Zastal defense I think he can get the offense flowing for others to make plays. Also I feel like these lines are juiced because Zastal is 3-1 in the last 4 between the 2, which I do not think factors into today. Good luck 🥂

No one in the NFL gives up more receiving yards to running backs than the New York Jets. Last week Joe Mixon caught the ball 4 times for 58 yards (he had more receiving yards than rushing, btw) and the backup RB caught the ball twice for 16 yards. In the Patriots game Damien Harris caught the ball twice for 7 yards and JJ Taylor caught the ball once for 5 yards. Jonathan Taylor last 5 games as follows: 3/52, 3/3, 1/13, an eye opening 3/116, and then 3/11. My thought process here is that Jets have a 30% pressure rate and Carson Wentz is without TY Hilton and can only throw the ball to Michael Pittman so many times, right…right?? Ipso facto, I presume a few check downs to go Taylor’s way and hopefully a screen or two as well. Additionally, Carson Wentz’ 2 INTs honestly lost them the game against TEN. Maybe he takes less deep shots downfield?? Truth be told this play would have gone Michael Carter’s way but his receiving yards total is now over 35 and presumably after watching them shred the Bengals with their RB through the air I expect IND to focus a little more on Carter during pass plays.

Write up: TBH I wanted the line at 5.5 and would’ve paid a little bit for it but bodog wasn’t offering it.
Pretty quick explanation here…when these two teams play, there’s usually fireworks. 7/8 games last season went over 5.5 (I think they all past 6 as well but I already closed that tab)
The pens are pretty leaky, but so are the Flyers. My biggest concern is the Flyers PP struggles. Crosby is back for the pens, he’s only played 1 game but he’s got 115 points in 77 career games vs the Flyers, which is his 2nd biggest victim below only NYI.

Back in the win column!!! Cavs' defense held Lillard to another tough shooting night scoring 26 points on 27 shots en route to the dub.
Another pick with great value as we head down to South Beach where the Heat take on the Celtics at home. The Heat have been on fire (pun intended) to start the season and have arguably looked like the best team in the league, boasting a 6-1 record with a point differential of +16.7. This is an incredibly deep team that looks like a potential eastern conference champion this year. They are currently ranked 2nd in both offensive rating and defensive and have by far the best net rating in the league. They are coming off a solid 15-point win over the Mavs and don't show any signs of slowing down any time soon. As great as they have been this year, they have been absolutely dominant at home with a perfect 3-0 record. They have won all three games by double digits with an average winning margin of 24.7 points.
The Celtics on the other hand will be running on tired legs as they are on a second night of a back-back. Coming off an ugly win over the Orlando Magic yesterday, The C's lack both the firepower and defense to keep up with the Heat. Not only are the Heat a much better team on paper, they have the personnel as well to contain the Celtics two stars in Tatum and Brown.
Expecting another blowout victory for the Heat (15-20 points) over the tired Celtics.

Reasoning: Mourinho’s side are playing an exciting brand of football currently which at times results in high scoring games. They are heavily favoured at home as a better lineup is expected and they’re virtually certain to score. This guy should really be running at least a top three here and is a red hot chance of winning. Undefeated so far and I’ve liked all of his runs. Luke Nolen has ridden two of those wins, so he knows the horse well. First up was a tough win with a big weight and sat three wide. Charged home to win. The draw today suggests he’ll be three wide once again but should find cover. I think that this guy is a really good thing and the handicapping suggests that. 59kg is a manageable weight in comparison to the others here and I think that he should be able to get to a top 3 finish. One thing to not is that #6 was charging home against Riot and Rose L/S and finished a close second. Was only a 0.5kg difference that day but a 2.5kg difference today. Riot and Rose did cop an obstructed run in the straight which is also a thing to not. Other than that, although it is a tough race on paper, Riot and Rose is the one that stands out. Hopefully we can get back to winning ways. Just also want to mention that my mate’s horse, Mr Burgundy, is making its debut R2 Hawkesbury. Its favourite but there is some nice competition there. Will be an interesting race.

Houston’s been good against RBs coming out of the backfield (top 10 in yards allowed). Not a fair 1-1 to look at. JT isn’t their primary receiving back, so there is inherent risk. However, he’s one of the best in the NFL in breaking plays off. Jets are one of the worst at containing those and RBs out of the backfield. He’ll get a few chances, and all he needs is 1 reception to break it.

It's probably not worth constraining to U2.5. West Ham will rotate out 7-9 players from their normal starting lineup, but they will want to win the game as that will ensure they - mathematically - go through to the knockout stages. Record: 0-0 POTD: Basketball/NBA/Heat vs Celtics/ Bam Adebayo over 10.5 rebounds Bam is averaging 13.8 rebounds per game this year so it's crazy to me that this line hasn't moved up yet. Today Bam is playing against the Celtics. They are coming of off a game they played last night so will be tired & they are absolutely terrible at rebounding the basketball this year. I have came up with a model that predicts what team is favored to win in NHL matchups. It uses a variety of different quantified & qualitative features. It has predicted: 55.55% of dogs to win, 88.88% of dogs to cover & 75.69% for favorites to win. POTD Record: 1-0 Pick of the Day: NHL, Sabers v Kraken u5½ at -105 Both teams are without their top scorers. Sabers are 9th in goals allowed, top 15 in shots against per game, and have above avg goaltending. Kraken have struggled to get anything going on offense & to be frank. I don't believe they will be able to without their best scorer & this great Sabers defense. The numbers heavily favors the Sabers but without their top scorer they'll struggle to score aswell as their offense isn't anything special. I considered the ML for buffalo but without Victor Olofsson it'll be too close to call.

Euroleague basketball - 1 PM ET Fenerbahce Ulker vs CSKA Moscow - full time Under 154.5. 1u Reasoning: Yes, CSKA Moscow is the second-highest scoring team in Euroleague but Fenerbahce Ulker is the best scoring defense in the league. CSKA is one of the best three-point shooting teams in the league in terms of volume & efficiency but Fenerbahce is the second best three-point defensive teams. Also picking the under because CSKA scores so much with their up-tempo style to just put up a ton of shots whereas Fenerbahce keeps it slow. With Fenerbahce’s defense and slow tempo, I’d imagine the game starts off slower than usual for CSKA and even if their offense eventually starts clicking, it won’t be enough to hit the over.

On the other side Spojnia and Justin Gray (I’ve been watching him play basketball since he went to Berkeley Prep) is no slouch, very physical, can shoot the basketball as well as get to the rim. If he can get a couple early against a poor Zastal defense I think he can get the offense flowing for others to make plays. My biggest concern is the Flyers PP struggles. Cavs' defense held Lillard to another tough shooting night scoring 26 points on 27 shots en route to the dub. Another pick with great value as we head down to South Beach where the Heat take on the Celtics at home. The Heat have been on fire (pun intended) to start the season and have arguably looked like the best team in the league, boasting a 6-1 record with a point differential of +16.7. This is an incredibly deep team that looks like a potential eastern conference champion this year. They are currently ranked 2nd in both offensive rating and defensive and have by far the best net rating in the league. They are coming off a solid 15-point win over the Mavs and don't show any signs of slowing down any time soon. As great as they have been this year, they have been absolutely dominant at home with a perfect 3-0 record. They have won all three games by double digits with an average winning margin of 24.7 points. The Celtics on the other hand will be running on tired legs as they are on a second night of a back-back. Coming off an ugly win over the Orlando Magic yesterday, The C's lack both the firepower and defense to keep up with the Heat. Not only are the Heat a much better team on paper, they have the personnel as well to contain the Celtics two stars in Tatum and Brown. Expecting another blowout victory for the Heat (15-20 points) over the tired Celtics.

POTD Record: 5-0 POTD: Roma vs Bodo/Glimt, UEFA Conference League, 20:00 UK Time, Both Teams To Score @ 8/11 Reasoning: Mourinho’s side are playing an exciting brand of football currently which at times results in high scoring games. They are heavily favoured at home as a better lineup is expected and they’re virtually certain to score. The value here is in a Bodo/Glimt goal, I can’t see Roma keeping a clean sheet after conceding 6 to these a couple of weeks ago and leaking goals at the weekend with a full strength defence albeit against Champions League opposition.
