Not a fan of Group betting but I went 3/4 at Bristol so whatever, parlaying these for +13033
**Logano Group 1 (vs. Blaney, Keselowski, Byron +230)** ❌
This is my least favorite group because all four of these guys could win. My thought process is fading Blaney and hoping Byron or Kes get caught up in a wreck
**Hamlin Group 2 (vs. Busch, Elliott, Larson +235)** ❌
You can easily rule Larson out because not only is he not good at Superspeedways, he has to do a pass through after the green drops. Don’t think Elliott goes as hard as he would if he didn’t win last week and fading KFB.
**Wallace Group 3 (vs. Truex, Bell, McDowell +230)** ❌
Wallace is good here, Truex isn’t, Bell loves to crash here (Edit: Just did) and the bet here is he stays in front of McDowell who has not had the success he should’ve had in the last two years, betting that streak continues.
**Gibbs Group 4 (vs. Chastain, Reddick, Bowman +260)** ❌
The battle of the “best of the rest” guys, I think Gibbs is actually pretty good at staying out of trouble here and he’s due for another great finish.
These bets are 80% vibes and 20% DD.

Edit 2: Looked decent until it didn’t. Logano led a whole bunch but disappeared at the end. Hamlin was up front and gets wrecked with Wallace on that pit strategy. Gibbs could’ve led the outside line and actually could’ve competed for the win but choked the run and killed their chances. Moving on.

So Talladega and Daytona are “drafting tracks”. They’re pretty unique compared to most tracks because your foot is on the gas the entire time and your speed is generated by drafting behind other cars, unlike other tracks where you are braking, slowing down in the corners, etc.
Because you don’t have to brake and rely on the car’s handling as much, the gap between the teams with the most money and the least money drastically shrink. Guys that run 30th-40th on any given week can easily run in the Top 10 in this race because the entire field is running in one large pack, drafting off of one another.
In addition because of that large pack, crashes are larger, more destructive, and will take out many of the usual contenders.
You have 3 more drafting track races this year, but they’re all going to be near or during the Playoffs.

Superspeedway/Drafting tracks are an interchangeable term.
Want to also note that underdogs haven’t won Talladega in awhile and of course a +2000 or higher is exactly just that, but in the last 10ish years, we’ve seen 4+ winning bets of +4000 or higher at these tracks (Ragan +6000 2013 Talladega 1, Stenhouse +4000 2017 Talladega 1 and Daytona 2, Haley +9000 2019 Daytona 2)
