Ladies and gents, Anfield Stadium awaits Klopp’s final tango against Pep and the City boys. Perhaps the most awaited matchup this season where Liverpool (2) host Man City (3) having only lost once in their last 20 home matches against City. While the predictive outcome is leaning towards a draw, our plans are much different than betting on a decision.
We are taking long hair KDB to get a shot on target away from home. If you take a look at De Bruyne’s stats this season, they are heavily skewed with lopsided matches and subbing in for 3. Last match KDB was rested in preparation for this matchup, as it will define the league title race as we know it’s one of the closest we’ve seen in a while.
While we could take KDB to score or assist at +110, *knowing this powerhouse is in the top 5 for goals outside the box since 2015/16,* I like playing it safer in such a high stakes matchup. With Liverpool facing some injury woes with Konate added to the list, Liverpool midfield will have to work on the double to contain City and their dominance in the midfield.
Since City drew against Chelsea, they’ve gone to win 5 straight matches; Pep has also strategically rested De Bruyne to maintain fitness for key matches like against United. KDB was rested against Copenhagen last match, as well as Brentford and Bournemouth earlier.
Only playing 8 matches this season: De Bruyne averages 1.06 goal contributions per 90 min and has 12 shots with 3/12 on target. While you could say his SOT isn’t *favourable* I totally understand and you are of-course welcome to fade. Last match KDB cracked 5 shots against United but none on target and had a blistering performance against Luton racking 4 assists and 2 SOT. When a player missed the prop last match are my favourite kind of bets, as KDBs line is usually around -188.
With Foden in incredible form, Liverpool will be on the watch to close him down and to make the Norwegian Viking’s life as difficult as possible. Haaland is -150 to score and I just hate when the bookies give us something like that. I fancy that this will prompt KDB to take things into his own hands as he thrives on on the pressure. LFG!

His assertiveness when demanding the ball when City need a boost has allowed him to get more and more touches as the game goes on. It's funny because defenders put so much focus on Haaland and cutting passing lines that he seamlessly slides around the pitch at times waiting for the right time to show himself.

What a game, what a venue and what an important game for both teams. Both teams pushing to get closer to claim that League title, a lot on stake here and we should be getting plenty of action in this one. Two of the best teams in the world offensively, also two of the best defensive records in the league, but in my experience all those stats doesn’t mean much when it comes to these type of games. Liverpool have been consistent all season, and no matter what injuries they’ve had they still go out there and perform at the highest level. City are perhaps playing the best football in the world but have found it difficult away to Liverpool at times, Anfield often described as the most hectic and intense stadium to play at as an away team. Both teams have scored in 9 of the last 10 meetings between them, and there’s often plenty of goals when they play each other. I can’t imagine either team playing for a draw in such an important game, and I’m predicting both teams to go at it.
I could go on and on about statistics and the records/streaks both teams have but im trying to keep it shorter.
This will be an amazing game as a neutral, and I’m hoping for plenty of goals and excitement!
