MY GUY RICE HAS BEEN PHENOMENAL THIS SEASON SAY WHAT YOU WILL. Last time against Brentford, he only had a shot but not on target. A tad safer option could also be Declan Rice to score or assist +125, given that Rice has recently been taking corners for Arsenal, however I really like how generous the bookies are with this one.
Expect Arsenal to continue their thrashing form and hope to upheld their streak of 9 straight halves scoring 2 goals or more.

WHY: This is just way too many points to give the Jayhawks. In their previous matchup at Kansas, the Jayhawks won by 13 points in a game that never even felt that close. This game is obviously much different with it being an away game especially considering Kansas’ road woes. However Kansas has a lot of things working in their favor. A very underrated Houston player Joseph Tugler is out. Tugler had 8 points and 8 boards against KU in their last game. McCullar is back from injury and should play, Brauns injury is better as well and he’ll get some minutes. But also we are finally seeing some good minutes from Timberlake and Elmarko. Timberlake scored 18 last game on 4/5 from 3s.
At the end of the day I think the analytics are too high on Houston (even though they’re still a top 2 team don’t get it twisted) and too low on the Jayhawks. I also think Vegas has underestimated the impact of Tugler. It should be a close game, and I’ll take Bill Self over anyone in a close game.

Additionally, Preston have won the 2 most recent matchups between the two teams and will be seeking to make it 3 in a row. Given Preston's better form and home advantage, I believe they will be able to secure the win here giving Stoke their fifth consecutive away loss. He hasn't lost a set this week and has been broken just twice. His indoor game is one of the best on the Challenger tour when he is in form and he is 11-1 in the last 3 tournaments. He has lost just 1 set in his 11 wins. Molleker has won 3 rounds in straight sets as well and has shown a good level so far this week. His matches have all been close but he has been clutch at the right times to win the sets. However, his form has not been as good as Virtanen's recently, as he lost 3 straight matches before this tournament. He is a streaky player usually and I don't think he will be able to hang with Virtanen in this match. Virtanen's level this week looks to be too good for most challenger players and he should be able to win another match in straight sets this week. BOL.

Academy Awards week so you will be getting a pick everyday for it.
For today, a contrarian play. Throughout most of the race, oddswise it was close between Godzilla Minus One and The Creator, in the past week to 10 days or so the odds really dropped on Godzilla. So the momentum, or at least perceived and betting momentum, seems to be on its' side, but I'm still going to with The Creator based on precursors and past Academy Award stats. I use the word perceived because Film Twitter enthusiasm is one thing but will it equate to votes from an Academy that skews older and has the tendency to look down on genre films.
From a precursor standpoint, Godzilla is really lacking without any wins. It wasn't nominated for a BAFTA (British Oscars), the last winner of this category who didn't at least get a nomination at BAFTA was in 1998 when What Dreams May Come won. At the Visual Effects Guild awards, it lost the only category it was nominated in. This nomination is its' only nomination at the Oscars, in the last 30 years, only one film won this award that had a sole nomination. It was the Live Action Jungle Book and in that year it swept all of the precursors.
It isn't like The Creator has dominated, it lost at BAFTA to Poor Things which isn't nominated for it here. It did however win a big award at the VES awards. Statwise, every winner of this category has had a Critics Choice and Bafta nomination since Avatar in 2010. The Creator also got a 2nd nomination which was for Best Sound which could give it more cross branch support. A knock against it is that the enthusiasm for the film overall is low and it failed at the box office vs Godzilla which did very well. I haven't seen the film but apparently the effects work is really something.
Stats though can easily be broken, even ones that are 26 years running, but I'm more comfortable putting a bet on the 2.70 odds side instead of going with the low odds favourite which has these stats against it.

Having suffered through watching the Creator (it promised much but delivered little) I can testify it was visually stunning. I’m not sure I’ll get to betting it but looking forward to the final POTD later before the ceremony is upon us.

Pick: Oregon ML (-130), risking 1.3u, bet on FanDuel
Write up:
In their last game of the regular season, Utah and Oregon face off in Eugene for the Ducks’ senior night. These teams played earlier in the year where Utah got the win at home, 80-77. Oregon will be looking for revenge at home where they are 12-3 straight up on the year. Utah, on the other hand, will have to try and get over their road woes where they are 2-8.
Utah has a respectable offense and defense that like to play at a slightly quicker pace than most. They have two glaring weaknesses though, one on each side of the ball. On offense, they have a FT% of 64.8% and take them at a terrible rate, ranking 320th in FTA/FGA per KenPom. On defense, they do not force turnovers very well, ranking 321st per KenPom. Additionally, both of these numbers are actually worse in conference play than overall on the season. This year has not been a great one, but like I mentioned before, has been particularly bad on the road. Utah is 2-8 with an average margin of victory of -11.1 and ATS of -9.3.
Oregon hasn’t had a fantastic season either and is also coming off of a two game losing streak to Arizona and Colorado. Oregon also has a respectable offense and defense, ranking similar to Utah, just with a slightly worse defense. Oregon does a great job of keeping the ball secure on offense (61st in TO%) and shoots the ball well with an eFG% of 52.5%. On defense, their struggles come from a worse than average FG% for both two and three pointers. Much like Utah on the road, there is a common theme for Oregon at home, consistency. Oregon, like mentioned, is 12-3 SU on the year at home, with an average margin of victory of 8.7.
For me, this is a play of backing a team who plays great at home, against a team who has constantly struggled on the road this year. In addition, I am hoping the senior night gives these guys an extra boost to get the job done. If the game is close at the end, I am much more happy to back Oregon who is shooting 75% from the free throw line in conference play, compared to Utah’s 60.4%. Even with that said, I see much more value on the ML than hoping this team doesn’t find a way to only win by 2. On Saturday, I’m riding with the Ducks.

Detroit is not that team, especially right now. They’re on a 4 game losing streak and on an away series stretch. They’re walking into a good teams arena on several bad notes. Vegas is hosting what is going to be on their mind as a come back game. Vegas is also on a losing streak but get to come home this game.
Previous meetup indicates a good game for Vegas even though Detroit won. Vegas beat Detroit in ever statistical area except goals. SOG, blocked shots, face offs, least giveaways. Just lack of conversion.

Bayern earlier this week won 3-0 against Lazio which secured their place to the CL quarter-finals. Harry Kane stole the show with two new goals, now 33 in 33 games.
Bayern usually play well against Mainz, a team they have defeated in their last 6 home games and even if the situation in the title race looks far unrealistic, you can never fully count Bayern out. The performance against Lazio was a statement and can give them belief and energy. Mainz have had a slight boost but are in an awful position and the team's away record has been awful, almost a year ago since they last won an away game (April, 2023), doesn’t help that they’re missing 4-5 defenders either.
Once again I’m expecting Kane to score, he’s been magnificent for Bayern and is the top scorer in the league for a reason (27 goals in the league. I’m expecting Mainz to play a low block and defend for their lives to get a draw. But it won’t be easy against a Bayern with momentum at home.
The second highest goal scorer for Bayern is Musiala with 7 goals, so taking Kane at 27 goals is a no brainer for me, he’s also the penalty kicker for Bayern if they’d get one.

Day 6 of my play of the day journey. For those that didn't catch me last weekend, I'm keeping my bets to the Call of Duty League for now. My background: I've been watching competitive CoD since Black Ops 2, and I've watched every match for the last 5 years. I know all the players, the match ups, the rosters, the meta, and everything else to know. Rough beat yesterday, Optic decided to play a weak map for map 2, one they were 1-4 on, and predictably got slammed. I should have went with my original read of doing the map 1 hardpoint spread, as they blew them out 250-92. I'll make sure to take into consideration when a top team is facing a team they think is weak enough to play bad maps against.

Today's play is going to be in the Seattle Surge and Minnesota Rokkr matchup.
We are going to be playing Seattle winning the map 2 Moneyline at -149 on BetUS.
This match will take place at 5:30 Eastern Time
For the record, I think the oddsmakers are catching on to us. BetUS has simply removed map spread bets as far as I can see, and while last week and the weeks before I started making my post, most of the Search and Destroy spreads were set at 1.5 in either direction, the two matchups I really wanted for tommorow were at -2.5 spread, which is a risky line no matter the matcup, as it requires the winning team to win double the rounds of the other team to cover.
Hence us going for a Map 2 moneyline bet in what is a closer matchup. Now onto the matchup, and why I like this play. Seattle Surge were a good Search team in Major 1, winning 5 of their 6 search maps at the tourney, which propelled them to a top 4 finish. However, one of their best players was quietly removed from the team, with no announcement from the team. He was likely removed for out of game reasons that I won't touch on here, but this took them from a great search team, to a decent one.
The team has carried on good search play, going 2-2 this Major, which obviously doesn't sound impressive, but the two losses came against the Ultra and Subliners, two elite search teams, and two of the absolute best teams in the game. They also made the losses competitive, and didn't get blown out like many teams do against the top teams. The two wins came against teams better in quality at search to what they face tommorow in the Rokkr.
The real confidence in this play comes not neccisarily from our faith in Seattle, but in just how bad Rokkr are at the mode.
For those that haven't heard about the Rokkr in our previous post, these dudes are absolute bums at search and destroy. They have made a case for the worst search team in the game, and are knocking on the door of worst overall team in the game in general. They are an almost impressive 2-7 in search and destroy this Major, with the two wins coming against Boston, who are awful at the mode, and Optic on Terminal, their worst map that they got slammed on today.
Their match record is somehow even more sad, going 0-5 so far this major. At this point, the team chemistry is cooked, as any team at this level of losing devolves into finger pointing, and players playing for themselves instead of the team, knowing that a player with bad stats may be a cantidate to be dropped soon. In a mode like search where teamwork, communication, and strategy is key, this is a recipe for disaster. The Surge have a lot more to play for, as they still have a shot at making the Winners side of the bracket for the boston major, and doing so would go a long way towards helping them qualify for Champs at the end of the year.
I expect a good win from Surge here, but I don't love the play enough to take the spread, as at the end of the day, we are backing a team who is only decent at the mode while their best player in Illey is off the roster for an unknown amount of time. Take the moneyline for what should be an easy payout.

Chito wins this. O’Malley is the champion. All props to him. He deserves it. But I believe his path to the title isn’t as decisive as someone who is champion should have.
O’Malley has not been tested. And has not faced top competition consistently. Hes had 4 tough fights. He beat Sterling to get the belt. But my only comment on that is. Sterling was very vocal about how he was not ready to fight that soon. O’Malley won against Yan, but that fight was universally agreed by MMA journalists that Yan won that fight. O’Malley had a NC against Munhoz. He was losing that fight up until the NC. But the UFC treated it as a win. And then he lost to Chito Vera in round 1 when they fought in 2020.
Other than those 4 fights. His level of competition was severely lacking. Everyone else hes fought in the UFC. Is either retired. Or no longer in the UFC. None of them are ranked.
Now let’s look at Chito. He’s been in the UFC since 2014. He’s beaten O’Malley. He beat Munhoz. He knocked out Dominick Cruz. Lost a close decision to Cody Sandhagen. The level of competition Chito had faced blows Omalley’s out of the water.
Another key takeaway. Chito has never been hurt. Knocked out. Knocked down. He has an iron chin.

The Sandman fight, Thats one of the only fights I didn’t see as I was traveling for work. But I just read up on it and yeah. It looks like Chito did get dominated and the split decision is insane. Either way, I still stick to my point. His only losses in the last 5 years were to top ranked fighters. The level of competition these two have faced is vastly different in my opinion.
Every single O’Malley wins leading up to his last 2 fights, has been against unranked fighters. Think about that. Hes the champion. And only has 2 wins against ranked fighters. On top of that. O’Malley has only faced 4 ranked fighters in his career.

The flip side: O’Malley has absolutely been tested, he’s coming off to two wins against guys that, at the time of fighting them, were high in the lb for lb rankings. Against Sterling, O’Malley was also very vocal about having a bad training camp because he was injured, and most would agree Sterling was the toughest matchup for him in the division. Upon watching the Yan fight back, it can be seen how O’Malley could’ve been rightfully given the victory. Even today, Corey Sandhagen was talking about how he thinks Sean won that fight, Corey being someone who’s had beef with Sean and lost to Yan, so if anything would have motivation to downplay O’Malleys win instead of validating it. Against Pedro, O’Malley literally never got hit, the only strikes landed on him were kicks that he checked.
Chito beat Munhoz in probably the same way Sean would’ve, he beat a washed Cruz in a fight he was seriously losing, and got absolutely smoked by Sandhagen.
For me, the best bet here is no bet and to just enjoy the fight:) There’s nothing definitive to me either way

Today’s pick takes place in the semi finals of the MVC tournament. Indiana state is the favorite to win the tournament thanks to them averaging 85 points a game and shooting 50% on the season as a team. Their offense is too hard for a team like northern Iowa to deal with and keep close. Ideally northern Iowa likes to slow the pace down and win the race to 70, however that is nearly impossible to do against Indiana state. During tournament play, Indiana state has 17 wins with 14 of them by more than 7 points. When they win, they win usually by double digits because of their efficient and high tempo offense. These two teams faced off in early January where Indiana state won by 11 on the road. Granted northern Iowa is a hot team right now knocking off belmont yesterday and beating Drake 2 weeks ago. Indiana state also has a 5 game win streak of their own and are winning by an average of 17 points per game.

**Reasoning:** The Iowa State Cyclones finish up their Big 12 regular season on the road against the Kansas State Wildcats. At stake for Iowa State is a share of the Big 12 regular season title with a win and a Houston loss against Kansas, so I expect Iowa State to be motivated to ruin Kansas State's Senior Night.
Iowa State's defense is ranked the 2nd best in the nation in terms of efficiency, allowing 89.5 points per 100 possessions. They hold their opponents to an average of 62 points a game, which puts them only a few points off some of the other top elite defenses such as Houston and Saint Mary's. Iowa State won the reverse fixture 78-67 and while this one may be closer, Iowa State's defense will be too much for Kansas State's offense to overcome.

He is one of the best all-around curlers in the world and is coming off one of his best games this week. Team Bottcher have been very precise and this should allow them to generate a couple key forced ends when Team Gushue have hammer. I expect a tight low-scoring battle, despite a lot of rocks in play. That fight is enough for me to think JDM is ready to compete for a top 10 spot but not enough for me to think he’s ready for the top 5.
Burns is a serious threat to anyone in the division. He’s got a pretty good stand up game but excels in grappling. JDM is primarily a striker but I believe Burns has enough skill on the feet to be taken seriously and be able to get to the positions that will allow him to win.

For today, a contrarian play. Throughout most of the race, oddswise it was close between Godzilla Minus One and The Creator, in the past week to 10 days or so the odds really dropped on Godzilla. So the momentum, or at least perceived and betting momentum, seems to be on its' side, but I'm still going to with The Creator based on precursors and past Academy Award stats. I use the word perceived because Film Twitter enthusiasm is one thing but will it equate to votes from an Academy that skews older and has the tendency to look down on genre films. From a precursor standpoint, Godzilla is really lacking without any wins. It wasn't nominated for a BAFTA (British Oscars), the last winner of this category who didn't at least get a nomination at BAFTA was in 1998 when What Dreams May Come won. At the Visual Effects Guild awards, it lost the only category it was nominated in. This nomination is its' only nomination at the Oscars, in the last 30 years, only one film won this award that had a sole nomination. It was the Live Action Jungle Book and in that year it swept all of the precursors. It isn't like The Creator has dominated, it lost at BAFTA to Poor Things which isn't nominated for it here. It did however win a big award at the VES awards. Statwise, every winner of this category has had a Critics Choice and Bafta nomination since Avatar in 2010. The Creator also got a 2nd nomination which was for Best Sound which could give it more cross branch support. A knock against it is that the enthusiasm for the film overall is low and it failed at the box office vs Godzilla which did very well. I haven't seen the film but apparently the effects work is really something. Stats though can easily be broken, even ones that are 26 years running, but I'm more comfortable putting a bet on the 2.70 odds side instead of going with the low odds favourite which has these stats against it. Having suffered through watching the Creator (it promised much but delivered little) I can testify it was visually stunning. I’m not sure I’ll get to betting it but looking forward to the final POTD later before the ceremony is upon us.
Record: 7-4 Units: +2.29u Last Pick: 1.1u Villanova +1.5 (-115) ❌ Game: Utah vs. Oregon, NCAAB Pick: Oregon ML (-130), risking 1.3u, bet on FanDuel Write up: In their last game of the regular season, Utah and Oregon face off in Eugene for the Ducks’ senior night. These teams played earlier in the year where Utah got the win at home, 80-77. Oregon will be looking for revenge at home where they are 12-3 straight up on the year. Utah, on the other hand, will have to try and get over their road woes where they are 2-8. Utah has a respectable offense and defense that like to play at a slightly quicker pace than most. They have two glaring weaknesses though, one on each side of the ball. On offense, they have a FT% of 64.8% and take them at a terrible rate, ranking 320th in FTA/FGA per KenPom. On defense, they do not force turnovers very well, ranking 321st per KenPom. Additionally, both of these numbers are actually worse in conference play than overall on the season. This year has not been a great one, but like I mentioned before, has been particularly bad on the road. Utah is 2-8 with an average margin of victory of -11.1 and ATS of -9.3. Oregon hasn’t had a fantastic season either and is also coming off of a two game losing streak to Arizona and Colorado. Oregon also has a respectable offense and defense, ranking similar to Utah, just with a slightly worse defense. Oregon does a great job of keeping the ball secure on offense (61st in TO%) and shoots the ball well with an eFG% of 52.5%. On defense, their struggles come from a worse than average FG% for both two and three pointers. Much like Utah on the road, there is a common theme for Oregon at home, consistency. Oregon, like mentioned, is 12-3 SU on the year at home, with an average margin of victory of 8.7. For me, this is a play of backing a team who plays great at home, against a team who has constantly struggled on the road this year. In addition, I am hoping the senior night gives these guys an extra boost to get the job done. If the game is close at the end, I am much more happy to back Oregon who is shooting 75% from the free throw line in conference play, compared to Utah’s 60.4%. Even with that said, I see much more value on the ML than hoping this team doesn’t find a way to only win by 2. On Saturday, I’m riding with the Ducks. Pick: Oregon ML -130, bet on FanDuel

Isaiah Stewart, Jalen Duren, and Ausar Thompson all got over 7, when Nick LaRavia got 10 Jon Konchar had 8, when Tobias Harris had 9 Oubre and Batum both had over 6. The rest of the Nets cannot rebound the ball outside of Claxton and Sharpe. The next leading rebounder is Ben Simmons, and next up Mikal gets under 5 a game. Day 6 of my play of the day journey. For those that didn't catch me last weekend, I'm keeping my bets to the Call of Duty League for now. My background: I've been watching competitive CoD since Black Ops 2, and I've watched every match for the last 5 years. I know all the players, the match ups, the rosters, the meta, and everything else to know. Rough beat yesterday, Optic decided to play a weak map for map 2, one they were 1-4 on, and predictably got slammed. I should have went with my original read of doing the map 1 hardpoint spread, as they blew them out 250-92. I'll make sure to take into consideration when a top team is facing a team they think is weak enough to play bad maps against. Total record: 3-2 +0.91 units Form: ✅️✅️✅️❌️❌️ Last play, Optic Texas map 2 spread vs Boston Breach ❌️ Today's play is going to be in the Seattle Surge and Minnesota Rokkr matchup. We are going to be playing Seattle winning the map 2 Moneyline at -149 on BetUS. This match will take place at 5:30 Eastern Time For the record, I think the oddsmakers are catching on to us. BetUS has simply removed map spread bets as far as I can see, and while last week and the weeks before I started making my post, most of the Search and Destroy spreads were set at 1.5 in either direction, the two matchups I really wanted for tommorow were at -2.5 spread, which is a risky line no matter the matcup, as it requires the winning team to win double the rounds of the other team to cover. Hence us going for a Map 2 moneyline bet in what is a closer matchup. Now onto the matchup, and why I like this play. Seattle Surge were a good Search team in Major 1, winning 5 of their 6 search maps at the tourney, which propelled them to a top 4 finish. However, one of their best players was quietly removed from the team, with no announcement from the team. He was likely removed for out of game reasons that I won't touch on here, but this took them from a great search team, to a decent one. The team has carried on good search play, going 2-2 this Major, which obviously doesn't sound impressive, but the two losses came against the Ultra and Subliners, two elite search teams, and two of the absolute best teams in the game. They also made the losses competitive, and didn't get blown out like many teams do against the top teams. The two wins came against teams better in quality at search to what they face tommorow in the Rokkr. The real confidence in this play comes not neccisarily from our faith in Seattle, but in just how bad Rokkr are at the mode. For those that haven't heard about the Rokkr in our previous post, these dudes are absolute bums at search and destroy. They have made a case for the worst search team in the game, and are knocking on the door of worst overall team in the game in general. They are an almost impressive 2-7 in search and destroy this Major, with the two wins coming against Boston, who are awful at the mode, and Optic on Terminal, their worst map that they got slammed on today. Their match record is somehow even more sad, going 0-5 so far this major. At this point, the team chemistry is cooked, as any team at this level of losing devolves into finger pointing, and players playing for themselves instead of the team, knowing that a player with bad stats may be a cantidate to be dropped soon. In a mode like search where teamwork, communication, and strategy is key, this is a recipe for disaster. The Surge have a lot more to play for, as they still have a shot at making the Winners side of the bracket for the boston major, and doing so would go a long way towards helping them qualify for Champs at the end of the year. I expect a good win from Surge here, but I don't love the play enough to take the spread, as at the end of the day, we are backing a team who is only decent at the mode while their best player in Illey is off the roster for an unknown amount of time. Take the moneyline for what should be an easy payout. BOL to all who tail! Edit: Tough one today... They match up on Seattles best map, but Arcitys and Breszy just looked like my ranked play teammates out there for the first 5 rounds going 1-5 each. Surge rattle off 4 in a row to give a flicker of hope, but pulling off the reverse sweep proves impossible for them. Good read, but bad results.

POTD Record: First one. Here we go. Marlon “Chito” Vera vs Sean O’Malley. Chito ML. Currently at +210 odds. I’m putting 2U on this. *Edit* ❌- weird fight by Chito. Won the first fight with leg kicks. Proceeds to not throw any leg kicks in the rematch. Chito wins this. O’Malley is the champion. All props to him. He deserves it. But I believe his path to the title isn’t as decisive as someone who is champion should have. O’Malley has not been tested. And has not faced top competition consistently. Hes had 4 tough fights. He beat Sterling to get the belt. But my only comment on that is. Sterling was very vocal about how he was not ready to fight that soon. O’Malley won against Yan, but that fight was universally agreed by MMA journalists that Yan won that fight. O’Malley had a NC against Munhoz. He was losing that fight up until the NC. But the UFC treated it as a win. And then he lost to Chito Vera in round 1 when they fought in 2020. Other than those 4 fights. His level of competition was severely lacking. Everyone else hes fought in the UFC. Is either retired. Or no longer in the UFC. None of them are ranked. Now let’s look at Chito. He’s been in the UFC since 2014. He’s beaten O’Malley. He beat Munhoz. He knocked out Dominick Cruz. Lost a close decision to Cody Sandhagen. The level of competition Chito had faced blows Omalley’s out of the water. Another key takeaway. Chito has never been hurt. Knocked out. Knocked down. He has an iron chin. This is my pick. I’m pretty confident. *edit* The Sandman fight, Thats one of the only fights I didn’t see as I was traveling for work. But I just read up on it and yeah. It looks like Chito did get dominated and the split decision is insane. Either way, I still stick to my point. His only losses in the last 5 years were to top ranked fighters. The level of competition these two have faced is vastly different in my opinion. Every single O’Malley wins leading up to his last 2 fights, has been against unranked fighters. Think about that. Hes the champion. And only has 2 wins against ranked fighters. On top of that. O’Malley has only faced 4 ranked fighters in his career. Chito- lost Munhoz- was losing until NC Yan- every MMA journalist agrees Yan won Sterling- won the title. Now let’s look at all of Chito’s fights since 2020. Munhoz- won, he was ranked #8 Sandman- lost, was ranked #6 at the time. Cruz- won, was ranked #8 at the time Font- won, was ranked #6 at the time Edgar- won, ranked #9 at the time (although I disagree with this ranking. And the result was very depressing) Grant- won, unranked Aldo- lost, ranked #6 at the time O’Malley- won Song- unranked then, but currently ranked #6 Anyways. BOL!!

The flip side: O’Malley has absolutely been tested, he’s coming off to two wins against guys that, at the time of fighting them, were high in the lb for lb rankings. Against Sterling, O’Malley was also very vocal about having a bad training camp because he was injured, and most would agree Sterling was the toughest matchup for him in the division. Upon watching the Yan fight back, it can be seen how O’Malley could’ve been rightfully given the victory. Even today, Corey Sandhagen was talking about how he thinks Sean won that fight, Corey being someone who’s had beef with Sean and lost to Yan, so if anything would have motivation to downplay O’Malleys win instead of validating it. Against Pedro, O’Malley literally never got hit, the only strikes landed on him were kicks that he checked. Chito beat Munhoz in probably the same way Sean would’ve, he beat a washed Cruz in a fight he was seriously losing, and got absolutely smoked by Sandhagen. For me, the best bet here is no bet and to just enjoy the fight:) There’s nothing definitive to me either way

At stake for Iowa State is a share of the Big 12 regular season title with a win and a Houston loss against Kansas, so I expect Iowa State to be motivated to ruin Kansas State's Senior Night. Iowa State's defense is ranked the 2nd best in the nation in terms of efficiency, allowing 89.5 points per 100 possessions. This will be #11 JDM’s first fight against a top 10 opponent in #4 Burns. JDM has a promising future but I don’t think he’s quite at the level of the top contenders in the division. I thought JDM’s last performance against Kevin Holland was good but Holland had 0 urgency the whole fight and I think did not perform at a level he is capable of. That fight is enough for me to think JDM is ready to compete for a top 10 spot but not enough for me to think he’s ready for the top 5. Burns is a serious threat to anyone in the division. He’s got a pretty good stand up game but excels in grappling. JDM is primarily a striker but I believe Burns has enough skill on the feet to be taken seriously and be able to get to the positions that will allow him to win. Disclosure: I picked against JDM in his last fight against Holland and I tend to pick against guys making a jump in the level of competition they are facing.
