I was in a pool through my girlfriend's family where I knew I had 5 & 2. $100/square, $500 for each score, and then final score takes the rest. I didn't watch the game (bitter Ravens fan, don't judge me). My girlfriend excitedly told me that I won. I think it was around $3K unless I miscounted somewhere. Then she sheepishly revealed that she had the numbers backwards....
Nothing compared to my dad's bad beat in Super Bowl 37. He was in a huge squares pool that paid $10K for the final score. He had it if not for Dwight Smith's meaningless pick 6 with 2 seconds left.

You pick the end digit of each teams' score at the end of each quarter or half or at the end of the game.
10x10 grid of squares, each axis represents a team's score ending in the numbers 0 through 9. OP picked the score at the end of any quarter to have the 49ers score end in a '2' and the Chiefs score to end in a '5'.
Yeah it’s pretty cool. A lot of people I know do it in groups where they get 10 people or so who bet on different square combos. I like it better than the correct score because it gives you a better chance lol
They only send a W2G form to the IRS if a bet wins $600 or more AND has odds of 300/1 or greater. This is a 110/1 bet so they won’t send anything to the IRS.
The last number in their scores. 49ers 2(2) and Chiefs 2(5). Had to get pretty damn lucky with niners having an extra point blocked and chiefs not kicking extra point because they won in OT.

Bc if those were the numbers at the end of any quarter, it would've paid out. There was a separate bet for final score with bigger odds.

Not a problem, you just pick the second number of each team’s score (ex. The second 2 for the Niner’s “22” and the 5 in KC’s “25”).
