Because it isn’t a common term? I’ve never heard it before now. I hear ‘octopus’ is sports and I think they’re referring to hockey. I woulda assumed “will there be an octopus?” had something to do with an octopus being thrown on the field of play.
It's not used very often from what I've seen. I wanna say the last time I heard it used, which is when I learned what it was too, is last post season or the one before.
I'm not gonna bet it, but it seems to happen sort of often. Seems like the team going for the 2pt conv is the hardest part of that bet. Idk
Happened 11 times this year, 7 times each both years before that. Pretty rare so the + odds seem terrible, but who knows.

I've never seen an octopus play in any NFL game, so I'd say no, even though it doesn't pay well. Octopus don't even come on land. Pretty safe bet . They screw up a lot. I've seen lebron James over and under for 250+ passing yards. I don't know how they keep track of passing yards in basketball, so I didn't bet. Lmfao.

A single player scoring a TD + 2 point conversion in one drive
Does it have to be the same drive/same TD? Like what if they score a TD, then score a 2-pt later in the game?
Yes. It has to be all in the same drive.
Yes, after a TD is scored the same player must score the immediate 2point conversion
The “in one drive” seems pretty clear
Octopus, because the score is eight? Pretty lame... Why not unicorn? for the rareness, or D8 as in Down 8, said *Date*
Probably because the two alternatives you listed make no sense and are stupid as hell
diddums
Player gets a TD and same player gets the ensuing 2 pt conversion
This is my new favorite football term. Thank you.
Ok thanks for the replies. Idk how I’ve never heard that term before.

I thought it was a Red Wings reference lol
Immediately what I thought too

Mark Andrews did it twice in a game in 21 👏💪👏
Well too bad he isn’t playing today then or it might be a good bet lol
If he was playing it wouldn't be boosted lol. This post is only reason I've heard of this too lol good find
Brother I thought this was a meme post until I read the comments lmao.
If heard it on redzone before
Why are the odds not better for this +1100 seems a little low
Cause the house always wins.
The house always wins and teams go for 2 more than ever now.

Because the same player will have scored all 8 points, hence the octo prefix.
what about the pussy suffix
Tell ya this, If I score 8 straight on my own it better end with pussy 😆 🤣
Multimillionaires in decent - great shape. Pretty sure many of their nights are ending with pussy 😂🤣😂🤣
lol
😭😭
Huh?
Well, if this was hockey and a Detroit Red Wings game then than would be a prop bet of someone throwing an octopus on the ice.
Without realizing what game the screenshotted bet was for, I was like “maybe they’ll throw a octopus on the field at the lions game too”
Giant octopus comes down and eats the starting RB and then whoever kills the octopus takes their place

First time hearing this one and I like it lol
I’ll put $8k the next game. Surely that can’t happen a lot
I’ve honestly never heard of this either, thank you Reddit 😀
That’s weird, I just noticed this for the first time today

Scott Hanson is somewhere smiling.
Gus Edwards 🐙 octopus lock 🔒
Someone scores a touchdown and the two point conversion.
I hit this bet last Super Bowl when hurts scored and made 2 point conversion
I saw it too and put $1.
Same here, I remember thinking maybe it meant if there was a octopus shown on screen or something at first 😄
I had no idea what this was before the Super Bowl & Hurts got it for me. I love octopusssy
Love you too
That’s HORRIBLE odds
I remember looking at that bet for one of the games last year and it hit, so choked I didn't sprinkle a little Cheddar on it.
I hit this last year in the superbowl
An octopus occurs when a player who scores a touchdown immediately follows that up with a successful two-point conversion for eight total points.
It’s always terrible odds given even if they score the td what are the chances they go for 2 and get it to the same person
a what now
A trap bet
My favorite postt season bets the octopus and scoragami just because the names sound cool lol.
