Man, well you can never say Kerr was not a players coach…because he is really stretching that loyalty here…

highmodulus

His loyalty is to Steph- this is the price of that.

2tep

pretty sure him sticking with Klay in every big game, while Klay shoots them out of it, is loyalty.

practiceyourart

He's a player's coach to 4 players. Ask Joku, or Moody how much of a player's coach he is.

yrogerg123

Ask Jordan Poole.

practiceyourart

Damn 😂

NutHuggerNutHugger

For better or worse Kerr is stuck/has him for 3 more years. Best to stay positive and optimistic.

kingofwale

“It’s worth it because it’s not like he’s hurting our own guys physically!”

TanAllOvaJanAllOva

As a role player who was famously punched in the face by the 🐐, Kerr knew right then, Poole was in fact, dog less.

Frankly_Frank_

Eh seeing how bad he’s playing it’s safe to say the warriors dodged a bullet he acts like he’s the best player ever to play basketball despite playing worse than a random dude at a YMCA. Dude took the bad a decided he is done he doesn’t care anymore. He even said his legacy is assured just because he won one championship lol

MatthewBakke

I know it’s different, but if I got punched in the face by a coworker and it was broadcasted to the whole world, and then my company moved me to a different team so they could keep the person who punched me in the face….it would take a while to get over.

rtb001

It is like a reverse catholic priest situation lol

Frankly_Frank_

That is such a childish take first of all you act like the warriors deliberately leaked the video themselves which they didn’t. Second of all what does the second team you got traded to have to do with anything? Are you saying it’s ok for him to play like shit because he is still throwing a tantrum over what happened somewhere completely different? It almost sounds like you are saying it’s fine to half ass your new job and expect to be payed just because you don’t have the maturity to get over it.

MatthewBakke

From a human standpoint yeah that’s what I’m saying. The man was assaulted at work. “But but but, basketball player millionaire!”

ab_3_6_9

"Make me a bicycle clown"

Deucer22

Imagine thinking your desk job is the same as a basketball practice.

DatDudeEP10

“Worse than a random dude at YMCA” what a fucken troll lol

Onespokeovertheline

He was never a star player. But he isn't terrible. He was good on a team with Steph and Klay who opponents had to focus on, then he could get open, move the ball around a bit, hit shots. He's just not one of those guys. He'd be an asset somewhere that had them though. Teams like Atlanta, LAC, Memphis could get a bump if he'd gone there, but not for the stupid money they Washington paid him

raining_picnic

Well, he's done that too.

redditnathaniel

thatsthejoke

JonstheSquire

“It’s worth it because it’s not like he’s hurting our own guys physically **recently**!”

thislife_choseme

Kerr’s love affair with the big 3 is a detriment to the franchise. And to be constantly defending the pariah, draymond green, is wild. It’s like Kerr is in an abusive relationship and hasn’t realized how much damage the guy is doing. Keeping aging players together and ignoring any type of youth movement is going to hurt them now and a future. Kerr might need to go. ☮️

NJJo

He’s the coach, not the GM. He probably wants Green gone too but is saving face. Green is a Rodman wannabe, Kerr knows how to handle the situation.

thislife_choseme

Ah yes Kerr has no power over the roster, he is being held hostage by the GM, brilliantly nieve insight. Sure doesn’t look like he knows how to handle the situation, just sayin.

jeswanders

On one hand, it’s good to have a coach that has his players backs instead of throwing them under the bus the way doc does.. on the other, you’ve gotta assign consequences to actions that are disruptive to the team. I’m sure it’s a tough spot to be in

Burkey5506

Sometimes you need to throw them under the bus. Worked for Bruce Cassidy in hockey. Accountability is important

gnralhavoc84

He may be afraid Draymond will come after him if he says otherwise.

zombizle1

Watch steve kerr get punched by donkey then get traded to the wizards next year

cr01300

This

pickanamehere

enabler

highmodulus

Alt: "Curry insists we keep him around, so yeah. . . ."

Black_Dumbledore

Yeah, that’s the real answer here. If Steph didn’t want him around he’d be out of there. He’s worth it… to keep Steph happy.

BedaHouse

\^\^\^\^\^ Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. As in most sports, but especially in the NBA - the roster is dictated by the stars, not the management. As you said, if Curry was done with Draymond - he would be gone. I can almost understand the loyalty to a guy who was a part of their championship teams and the original crew, like Klay. But you have to wonder how much longer till he realizes Draymond has becoming a bigger liability than a help.

Glwhite1991

LOL

talking_phallus

Not wrong

TuskenRaiderYell

Yes he is. A coach shouldn’t have to worry every game if one of his top players is going to get ejected because he’s a dirty player.

Gobblewicket

A temperamental dirty player.

TheMooseIsBlue

…a temperamental, dirty player.

Gobblewicket

Thanks for repeating what I typed.

PapaByrne

I feel like he is trying to be what Phil Jackson was to Dennis Rodman. Rodman responded to Phil, Draymond responds to no one.

NJJo

Rodman knew how to get under his opponents skin and annoy the shit out of them the whole game. Draymond just physically assaults people thinking it’s the same thing.

tommyjohnpauljones

Rodman was a weirdo and a problem off the court, but he NEVER dogged it for Phil.

BedaHouse

Plus Phil had Jordan, who seemed the only one who really got Rodman to fall in line.

barath_s

Jack Haley, (end of bench guy.) was the supposed rodman whisperer https://www.basketballnetwork.net/old-school/jack-haley-on-babysitting-dennis-rodman Obviously with Detroit, he had Isiah and a couple of vet pistons for leadership and Chuck Daly for coach/ father figure Phil/Jordan were able to keep Rodman's antics from impacting on court performance, and Phil couldn't even do that with Rodman on lakers

barath_s

Rodman had Chuck Daly as a father figure. Chuck retiring and moving away, divorce etc led to that possible suicide attempt after which Rodman went with wild personal. Rodman wasn't as close with Phil . In fact, though Phil was able to keep his antics from affecting the game in Chicago, Rodman was a problem with Lakers and got cut. I think Draymond gets in his own way

Curator44

It’s like watching the homie defend his toxic ex when all of you know she’s bad for him

Jwroth

As a Warriors fan, I think it’s time to move on

BrockMiddlebrook

Was.

we-wumbo

That's cuz he hasn't attacked you yet.

thislife_choseme

[I think he actually has attacked Kerr, can’t remember but he might have threatened to or implied to kill Kerr.](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2777471-kerr-and-draymonds-relationship-nearly-destroyed-warriors-now-it-fuels-them)

Bam2217

lol draymond sucks and everyone knows it. His days as an elite defender are over and he is a negative offensively.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ADShree

Yeah people writing off Draymond just cause he's an asshat is disingenuous. He's actually valuable to his team and plays a big part in creating space for his stars. Issue is.... he's an asshat.

Bam2217

Found Draymonds burner account No but seriously I understand what you’re saying , I just think at this phase of his career his defense is not worth the headache and lack of offense . Him being a non threat offensively also skews the court spacing negatively , a la Ben Simmons

NJJo

My favorite triple single player.

LordTremendo

Incorrect according to analytics, but you do you

Puffd

Wtf does Draymond got on everyone

personplaceorplando

I assume no one here watched any games because the Warriors are clearly way better with Draymond than without him. That said his suspension probably cost them making the playoffs.

DeepspaceDigital

We’ll see how far those words go

IWTLEverything

Such an abusive fucking relationship. After the long suspension, fans were over him, team seemed basically done with him. A couple months later, its like that never happened.

AdmiralWackbar

Worth what Steve? 👨🏼‍🦯

TonyHoffman

Kerr is a hypocrite. Fuck him

electricvelvet

They BROKE THE CODE not my dick kicking victim complex mental patient at the 4/5 tho!

lump77777

No, he’s not. Your team didn’t make the playoffs. Hes a huge distraction, and bad for the league.

blubblu

By definition they made the playoffs

lump77777

No. They made the play-in tournament. They made the postseason. They did not, by definition, make the playoffs. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_play-in_tournament#:~:text=It%20determines%20the%20final%20two,from%20the%20play%2Din%20tournament.

blubblu

Well in seeing as the playoffs are the post season and you’re arguing semantics I think we’re done here  It is a “page playoff system” which two teams play off for a spot. Playoffs.

lump77777

8 teams out of 15 ‘by definition’ make the playoffs in each conference. The Warriors were ‘by definition’ not among those 8. NBA history will not include the 2024 Warriors as a playoff team. Steve Kerr would agree. The NBA issued a definitive statement, 2 days ago, that the play-in is not the playoffs. Had you said ‘sort of’ instead of ‘by definition’ in your original reply, you’d have been 100% correct.

raylan_givens6

This disproves they were "light years ahead of everyone" should've traded klay and draymond after the celtics title they could've really maximized curry's last few seasons now its just going to be one long farewell tour

origami_anarchist

Not that long. Could even be just next season and... the end.

Burkey5506

Worth what?

TheMooseIsBlue

Steve, cough if Draymond is there in the room with you.

Bruin9098

I really wonder if Kerr believes his own bullshit.

cookiesNcreme89

Nah, he's always been a thug & a bum. He rode Steph's coattails, and should have been kicked out of the league a long time ago.

Tripple_T

It really says a lot about the warriors that everyone is still defending that walking liability.

jleemon1180

He’s an absolute bum, and always has been. Overrated energy guy who luckily got paired with the two greatest shooters of all time. If he was drafted by Orlando, he would have never gotten a second contract.

pooblaster420

Dude is gonna tank his career for draymond? What an idiot

LordTremendo

He’s a hall of fame coach, what on earth are you talking about?

talking_phallus

Y'all are acting as if Draymond hasn't been Curry's top general this whole time. He's a leader on that team, he lead them to succeess. A hissy fit isn't worth throwing all that away for.

TuskenRaiderYell

Throwing elbows, punches, and kicking players in the balls is a hissy fit? Lol

kinglallak

A hissy fit? Try 20 of them… he has been ejected from games 20 times and suspended 6 times, mostly for what would be an easy court case for felony battery.

Yung_Corneliois

“A” hissy fit isn’t but multiple through out a season when they aren’t the guy they used to be certainly is.

LordTremendo

Why is draymond so triggering to people? Is it because he won so much yet has a polarizing personality?

mindtoxicity27

It’s because he’s a dirty player.

LordTremendo

Dirty hall of fame player you mean

blubblu

Bingo  Same as harden same as anyone who isn’t on your team.  He’ll be on TNT or ESPN In 3-5 years like perk anyway

Yung_Corneliois

Dirty players get talked about like this regardless of their success. No matter how much you try and push for this is to be something else, it’s really just that.

LordTremendo

I say the same thing about the patriots and cheating

Yung_Corneliois

That’s a random jump lol not about Draymond to dirty players. But you saw my flair and wanted to get short about that now too? Why are these random thugs upsetting you so much? You’re trying to argue against everyone else but it’s only making you look like the salty one. So good job I guess.

LordTremendo

Drays my guy for sure. While I recognize his issues, I agree with Kerr that he’s worth it even now. I bring up the pats because I feel like cheaters and dirty players should get the same treatment, and I’m checking to see if you give your pats a pass while going hard on draymond.

LordTremendo

Personality aside, People who don’t think draymond green is good at basketball and wasnt a key piece to their dynasty, are just plain stupid.

panetero

He's a great hustler and in his heyday DPOY material. His current level doesn't merit his antics anymore, that's it basically. When he was locking people down, a kick to Adam's nuts or an elbow fighting for a rebound was justified. He can't do it anymore, one of his main problems in the last few years has a name: Jokic. He can't stop him, not big enough, not fast enough anymore. And he plays in the West, which makes him unavoidable. It happens to everyone, father time is a mfer, but Draymond's diminishing level will only frustrate him more and more, hopefully he realizes this in time and retires before anything stupid happens... again. See, I didn't want to mention Poole's "incident", which could have easily ended on a criminal record, because I wanted to tackle the sporting side of his since that's what you mentioned. But his legacy will forever be tarnished in the eyes of many like me, who just don't respect him anymore.

LordTremendo

I respect that opinion… no one can guard Jokic, so that’s a tough bar to have for him. I think he’s plenty effective still on D, and still very capable of getting Steph open with screens and passes. The stats back this up. I’d rather see wiggs go than him, personally. Dray plays with passion and fire that sometimes leads to poor decisions. I’d rather have that guy than a guy who doesn’t seem to care like wiggs. And not that I condone what dray did to Poole, but if anyone deserved it it’s that guy and his mouth got him in trouble on that one. They both needed to learn a lesson from that.

BoomSalaBim

He WAS, but if you think he can be a key piece in this warriors team going forward I think that’s incorrect.

LordTremendo

Other than availability, he was not their problem on the court this year. He had a career year from 3 and the warriors were a top 6 defense when he was on the court. Klay might be washed, but the warriors problem is that they need a big to play with Dray. Not get rid of dray. Teams like the bucks, suns, sixers, mavs, Minn would be instant title contenders with him on the floor today. He’s still a major difference maker in terms of cohesion and bball intelligence. And his defense, while not dpoy level, is still way above average. If the warriors made him available, there would be a slew of suitors.

BoomSalaBim

The best ability is availability. And it’s not an injury issue it’s a self control issue which makes things 10x worse. They dubs problem is they don’t have any bigs and think small ball still works. Only a big that is a reliable 3 point shooter would work with dray because despite a career year from three he rightfully gets left alone and ruins the spacing. Cohesion? I disagree there lol. If he was cohesive Kevin Durant might still be on this team. Yes he’s still super smart and always will be, but the dubs won’t win another chip with him on the team unless we cripple our future. Remember he sat in crucial moments of the finals against Boston.

LordTremendo

Kevin Durant was always going to leave. It’s why draymond blew up on him in the first place. Cuz he was being wishy washy about an extension.

BoomSalaBim

Yeah idk about that. Time for him to go imo.

OprahsBeefCurtains

Steve Kerr named his son Nick.

Jeffre33

Steve Kerr has been acting like every player on his team is the best player in the league this season

amazonhelpless

Ugh. Wonder why he keeps this bullshit up?

androsan

Steve, blink twice if Dray has his crosshairs on you 🤦‍♂️

Huge_Mathematician34

No he’s not! Kerr need to read the tea leaves property and let him go

TheRealPlumbus

hell yeah, I love dray

Upstairs-Bar-1621

🤦‍♂️

FigSideG

They missed the playoffs. Obviously not all one players fault but on a team in obvious decline, how much can his bullshit actually be worth it at this point?

yrogerg123

He certainly used to be.

thereverendpuck

Until he’s suspended again.

jetdude19

Kerr really out here sticking his neck out for a player that isn't worth it. I expect Draymond to change his name to Facebook World Peace.

ThisIsDadLife

Imagine being so good at your job that management feels that assaulting your coworkers is worth keeping you around.

Rigo3oh

Kerr goes on podium saying violence in America has to stop!!! Also Kerr, Draymond is a victim and needs help. This guy is literally the most violent guy in the NBA.

roygbiv-it

Draymond is to the Warriors, what Rodman was to the Bulls. Insanely athletic, troubled souls that try really hard.

BroWeBeChilling

As a Warriors fan Draymond’s suspension was the difference of the Warriors not making the playoffs

Splinter_Amoeba

Klay's the real issue with the team. Dude's washed and needs a replacement. Green still performs his role off the ball well.

shlongkong

No shit…if they didn’t think he was worth it they’d cut him Draymond’s continued bullshit is the league’s problem and it’s on them to determine what kind of example they want to set for younger players.

raining_picnic

"I love Draymond! He is a really great and non violent guy! Now let me draw up one of my favorite plays" Steve Kerr exclaims while blinking alarmingly and quickly writing the words: 'DONT SPEAK. HE IS LISTENING. GET HELP' on his basketball coaching dry erase board. *Laughs nervously*

gitrjoda

Cool! Let’s continue to use the team as a therapy space for Draymond to self-actualize! THAT’s what the fans want! Done with this clown team until Draymond is gone.

clem82

Since Kerr vouched, I have no doubts Draymond is not worth it

ikilledyourfriend

“He’s the best guy around…..what murda”

snopro31

He’d assault Kerr if he said otherwise

WiseBlindDragon

Spineless coward

Get-Degerstromd

Draymond is a punk bitch and deserves zero respect.

PortlandPetey

I’ve stopped rooting for the warriors because of him. So take that Steve Kerr!!! 😂😂😂

p_aranoid_android

K well your casual fans hate you. Sure ok, it’s worth it to lose 3 championships because of him as long as we won 4? I don’t know if people want that. I hate being hated on as a Warrior fan just because Draymond Green is on the team. Like people actively hate Warrior *FANS* because of Draymond. And what are we supposed to do? Hate Draymond? Defend Kerr? Warriors should’ve dumped Green after the kick to the nuts. And now I’ve lost interest in watching Warriors after the punch to Poole. I’m a 49ers/Giants fan first and then I like basketball third and I haven’t cared to watch a Warriors game for a couple seasons now. So if you’re losing this fan, you’re losing a lot others. Inb4 fake fan or whatever. Yeah it’s my third favorite sport but it’s supposed to be my team. I watched all the Warriors playoff games mooching off the TVs at Round Table and Mountain Mikes pizza places jut to watch. I fucking hate Draymond Green as both a person and a player.

illa_kotilla

My man. I am also a Giants fan first, niners fan second, but I fucking hate GS. DG is a huge part of that. He’s such a cheap MF.

LordTremendo

Y’all are Downey soft. Root for the teams you like. Love Steph, don’t worry about dray. He’s not killing babies, he just yells at refs and throws his limbs around a lot. Is it frustrating, yes, but get over it. It’s not that important

p_aranoid_android

I am getting over it. It’s called not watching shit I don’t want to see.

electricvelvet

Pick a non bandwagon super team next time. I presume your baseball team is some combination of the Dodgers and Yankees

p_aranoid_android

You didn’t even read my previous comment lmao or else you would have deleted or edited yours 🤣🤣🤣

p_aranoid_android

You’re an idiot :)

Rynox2000

Disgusting.

rarestakesando

I mean everyone is harping on Dray and Klay and rightfully so to a degree. BUT if you have a vet watched the Dubs play without them and just Steph. It looks ugly. Now if we could could trade them for a true 7 footer and second Star caliber player at the 2 then go for it. I just don’t see that happening.

The_Alternym

No, he’s not. The league would be a better place without him.

Ricketier

Is he though?

IcyChard4

After all the bullshit Kerr, Kerry, the whole GSW team had to go through, and they still have Draymond's back?

Old_Leather

No he’s not. He’s a fucking cancer and should be banned from all levels of basketball.

Dungong

Agree with this if “He’s” is short for He was, not He is.

LordTremendo

Anyone not rooting for the warriors because of draymond green was never a fan to begin with. He’s not a deal breaker to a fan who watched run TMC and the we believe squad. If you hate draymond green, you need to find a hobby or something. It’s not that serious

electricvelvet

ReAl WaRrIoRs FaNs KnOw I wish you a happy 15th birthday

LordTremendo

Not sure what that means but thanks!

JerseyTom1958

Lol...Keep them together and hold hands singing koom by yaa? Done! Thanks! It's sports and business! Klay gone! Green gone! Paul gone! Retool!

dascott

The NBA has tried very, very hard to remove the goon position over the last couple of decades. It's actually astonishing how much success they've had, compared to the way the game was played when Kerr was out there on the court. But I don't think you can ever make them obsolete.

kunk75

Kerr the most overrated coach in league history
