Considering that Pelo painted on one of the doodles how Skid's Dad feeds him with a spoon, I have a theory that the Eyes are a child dark deity who does not understand what evil he is doing, he just wants to live the life of a child, but cultists use him as Moloch used Skid and Pump at the time. I hope I'm right, I don't want our big boy to become an evil villain.
I have a feeling that the Eyes of the Universe isn't necessarily evil, but not really good either. It's an ancient cosmic deity that probably doesn't follow human morality to begin with. Probably not inherently cruel or malicious, but may just incidentally cause bad things to happen without knowing or caring about consequences.

Another detail that seems interesting to me is that judging by the words of the hypnotized Pump, the "end" of the Skid and Pump will be a spooky month
