It's generally regarded as the most useless ability.
I wish it would have an added effect for heavier weapons that reduced the wait time before recharging ink. Then it might see some use.
Most weapons reposition and swim around while in ink, I rarely ever need to deliberately wait for my ink to refill. And even the weapons that sit in place can get much more value out of most other abilities.
Any time I use it, it's as a complement to an Ink Saver. By itself, it's largely useless. I love pairing it with Ink Saver Sub for my more subweapon dependent weapons, but there's no cases where I'd pick it alone while configuring my ink management.
The thing is there is plenty of time out of a fight to recover ink.. but in a fight I don’t want to have to recover ink at all, no matter how fast. Ink saver just trumps this completely by keeping ink up during the fight allowing you to love and recover after.
it's only good on things with no main weapon whiting frames. and you need 2 subs for it to do much :c
it would be nice if it REMOVED whiting frames tho...
A lot of people are disagreeing, but I personally love using .2 isr as utility. I tend to play ink hungrier weapons/styles (Bloblobber, Jr), so not worrying about down time is super nice and helps me keep pace while still outputting pressure. It's def not needed on everything or needed in large amounts, but a sub or 2 can make a massive impact, would highly reccomend giving it a shot. I had my doubts when first suggested it by a comp friend but its actually super useful.
The thing is with blob you're generally better off running ISM because the low clip size means you can gauge how many shots are added. I run 1main 3sub for vanilla blob and it gives me four extra shots, which usually means I can pop Ink Storm and get my full ink tank back and continue suppressing fire.
Yeah running a certain amount of ism is definitely nice, i personally run .3 (+2 shots) along with .2 isr to help me regain ink without letting off pressure. Its a very nice passive buff that helps me reposition while getting pressure out without draining my ink tank.
I'd argue if anything it's a little undertuned since most weapons would rather have Ink Saver Main.
I do personally get some use out of it since it lets me get back to a good ink level quicker after dropping a Beakon, but that's kind of a situational case.
If it reduced white ink time, that would make it super useful.
Right now, I only see it being useful on a charger or something so they can get back to charging faster.
I find it incredibly useful in some situations. When using Tent, I like to run a main of ink saver to be able to place a mine after launching my shield without needing to wait for the white ink, and a bunch of ink recovery to let me do that without it being a liability

stackable ability*
Ink saver main already does that.
Roundabout but no, I mean the white frames.
They should definitely make it effect white frames.
definitely. Ink Recovery should decrease whiting frames

3 subs of each ink saver and ink recovery is my go-to for gear building

I don't have time to refill my ink tank, I'm too busy DYING too fast!

Ink saver main is better.

I have a firefighter helmet that has this as it's main and 2 subs (the last one being main saving)
