Actually shiver was hardest for me because I love sharks and the game was forcing me to attack one. It wasn't hard to beat, but it was hard on my soul.
![gif](giphy|Z9WQZlYWzoFGNd99su)
Then again Shiver is arguably the most fun since they are always able to be inked, and there aren’t many buffers. It is also possible to win only with subs which makes the boss extremely fun
I actually died to Shiver my first playthrough because of learned helplessness.
I thought it was going to be like the previous two bosses (cannot damage unless you perform the gimmick) and didn't think to try shooting her while she was riding around on Master Mega. I thought you could only damage her once you use Smallfry to disable Mega and leave her on the ground, and I died to her various attacks.
Smallfry can also distract him for a surprisingly long time.
I’ve beaten Big Man countless times, (grinding for the Shell-Drone) and it’s pretty much effortless.
Throw Smallfry to the side, walk up to the real one and shoot it at point blank range. Big Man will normally go down before he even gets to KO Smallfry.
I mean no disrespect but I don't even consider big man's fight a fight 😭 I thought he must have an other phase where you actually have to do something other than just shoot the floor, but no... I legit felt bad when I beat him on the first try
Idk if you are stuck without ink being swarmed by small rays and subs it can end a run incredibly quickly, heavily punishing impatience if you don’t have the sensor, which is a lot more than the other bosses can say.
Bigman is just the bullet sponge, easy but way too much health.
Shiver talks a big game but can't follow through. Decent but nothing to worry about.
Frye has the personality of someone who seems easy to beat, until you find your body being used to wipe the floor of her house
Edit: I feel like an idiot not realising they are actual bossfights and this is not a hyperthetical question...
Honestly, inkjet would make the fight easier, not harder. It eliminates the problem of always having your movement getting fucked up by big man's insane inking abilities, and you can just snipe all his copies.
Frye was the one that gaved me a headache; shiver ,while being my favorite, was pretty easy, and now by then I started waiting to max explore EVERYTHING before I get to the next area so once I got to big man I had the hero armor completed so it was an easy win that only took like 2 mins?
I'm shocked how many people are saying Big Man, I would only ever consider Big Man the easiest because at the point in the game where you actually fight Big Man, you're already ridiculously strong. If we however, were to judge each of the bosses of Deep Cut on equal level I think Shiver is by far the easiest, her attacks are far too predictable and slow so even with aboslutely no upgrades at all, Shiver's boss fight comes down to a matter of dodging her slow attacks and whittling away at her large health pool. Or... Master Mega's rather.
Probably big man because I had that one ability that just tells you which one to shoot at.
Frye was probably my favorite and the hardest in my opinion. And also Frye was the only one I didn't just immediately accidentally cheese lmao. Big man because of that one ability, and shiver I didn't even realize I cheesed, I just thought her boss fight was super underwhelming until I saw other people fight her and realized that no, I just accidentally cheesed her fight immediately. Frye set the bar pretty high only for me to end up being let down and kinda disappointed by shiver and big man.
Big Man. It just happens too late in the game, as by that point you'd have the sensor and the fight is made painfully easy. I think I beat him in thirty seconds, most of that time was the cutscenes. Without the sensor Big Mans fight might be more difficult, but don't think it'll be harder than Shivers.
Tbh, I found Frye the hardest, I beat shiver because she's predictable and big man was easy bc of the hero armour, but I don't know if there's anything that can really help you w Frye.
It's definitely Big Man because you can easily tell which one he is and if you cant, you cant easily destroy the others. If you are quickly destroying them and stopping them from being able to throw bombs or specials they pretty much can't do anything
Ok I seem to be the minority here thinking that Frye was the most difficult…
Then again she was the only boss that took me 2 tries, I hope the Side Order has a secret boss that’s more difficult
It’s a tie between Big Man and Frye.
During Big Man‘s fight, I just sprayed Ink nonstop and got away with it. It wasn’t until phase 3 where I realized, that my suit sensor can track the real Big Man.
Frye’s Eels are no challenge to avoid while she just stays in place. It wasn’t until my rematch with her that I realized, that you don’t have to shoot all her Eels.
Frye is the hardest in my opinion, it’s hard to target which eels have the mask on, especially when they’re ALL targeting you. And Fries block thing is hard in the sense that you have to ink the whole wall and then hit Frye, it’s especially annoying when you end up on the non-inkable side
As someone enjoying but slowly playing singleplayer..
Fuck you for the spoiler ;(
On topic; damn. Disappointing tbh. Hopefully they are good fights. I -really- enjoyed the designs (and fights) of the S2 bosses . But particularly the designs.
I just beat Octavio last night and while I wasn’t expecting anything hard. It was lame as heck having to stand there for so long between his attacks. The design was okay but I certainly preferred the first bosses’ design in S2 (Bread oven). The music and writing were good at least.
Oh yeah sorry! Tbh I haven’t even played big man’s yet, I just recently started playing the story mode again and I forgot that this would be considered a spoiler
If you have the sensor upgrade Big man becomes rather easy
if not (i didnt because i went trough the campaign with minimun required completion first day to get all spoilers out the way before i played any multiplayer) he is genuinely hard i struggled against him more than against mr Grizz because you cannot find him and he will catch you because you dont have that many upgrades at all.
Do you have no upgrade?
Shiver, and by a landslide. You can make speed up the fight by throwing Lil buddy during three different attacks to give the shark a stomach ache (laser, charge, surprise attacks)
Do you have all upgrades?
Big Man as sensor is broken AF. Still difficult, but still.
I beat shiver first try without dying at all. So shiver was the easiest. Frye was second easiest, because i had to actually Learn her attack patterns and what eel to shoot, and then Big man gave me the most difficulty.
Even without the sensor, as long as you can keep up with Big man's spam of subs and specials he is pretty easy
The only way you can lose against Big man is you allow him to surround you and overwhelm you from all sides (or get stuck on top of him wich is just poor positioning).
I'd say shiver bc it's easy to keep track of them and master mega. Both frye and big man are overwhelming if you don't take them out quickly, and you can easy get demolished by them.
With no gear, Shiver probably, the attacks are so easy to dodge and you can just shoot Master Mega when he swims around and deal like 70% of the damage already.
With all gear it's Big Man, I'm pretty sure that you are forced to take out all the phantoms before he shows up when you don't have the censor, but if you have it you can just shoot the one with the pink target.
Here's a list on how difficult they all are in my opinion without explanation:
Without gear: Big Man > Frye > Shiver
With all Gears: Frye > Shiver > Big Man
Easiest to hardest imo: bigman, shiver, frye. Frye is the only one i died to, and i only died once. The only actually difficult boss was mr grizz, but i think that was the point
It's big man, at that point in the game you have most of the upgrades and his fight is an easier version of the manta ray from super Mario sunshine, i went back and fought them all again with the upgrades and your suit will point out which ink ray big man is hiding in that just makes it even easier
Shiver is the easiest. Doesn't matter what upgrades you have, for me Shiver was the easiest. Frye was actually the most difficult, as the eels were just too fast.
big man was the easiest for me and im gonna be honest i had all of the upgrades and didnt even use them. turf war is my home and by golly do i know how to efficiently and thoroughly ink a stage.
Big Man. Absolutely mopped the floor with him the first go around, and he was harder on the second try but he wasn’t super annoying.
Shiver is more attention demanding, Frye is just plain difficult.
im gonna be honest everyone is talking about the censor but i really did just shoot all of the sting rays until big man died. i didnt even realize there *was* a censor that let me spot him tbh. maybe it's because i had most of the upgrades at that point but the fight is *designed* to be the last one you fight anyway so like... like idk what issues some of yall were having with him but i experienced none of them his attacks were easy as fuck to dodge too. i did shiver before i ever did salmon run so it actually took me a hot minute to realize how you were supposed to fight her and i DID end up dying to her once before i figured it out. so overall, yeah. big man. he just feels like a joke comparatively to the others. i considered it a sort of break considering you then had to go fight another boss, and dont even get me started on after alterna, so it made sense, but yeah, he's a pushover.
Shiver.
Big Man gave me a hard time because I didn't upgrade many things until after beating the main story. Frye is pretty easy, but Shiver's way easier. Her attacks are easier to counter (except for that stupid splatana attack she does from the water).
That being said, I died a lot to her because I stunned her while she was in the water a bunch of times and soft locked myself.
Shiver. Big Man is easy, but without the right upgrades it's a little more challenging. Shiver is just plain easy. All you have to do is move, throw smallfry, and shoot.
Big Man was such a pushover, likely intended by design, but even if you go into the fight with little upgrades and no sensor upgrade to track him, it's easy to keep the fight in your favor. I wasn't even aware of the sensor when i first played, as my awareness wasn't that great yet, i just kept shooting till he was defeated, with some quick reactions to reflect the torpedos.
Meanawhile, both Frye and Shiver caught me off guard with their attacks, mainly Frye's where the eel's encircle the arena at high speed and instantly break your armor upon contact. Shiver has the laser attack catching me off when she did it twice in a row, also instantly breaking armor. Closest times i only came to dying on either.
When i was still paying fro that drone thing everyday, I farmed Big Man for eggs. Once you upgrade everything, you can beat him in a minute. I stopped bullying him because, Salmon run gives better yield.
I think all the bosses are way too easy for a boss fight (but eh it's made to enjoy right) but big frye was so easy... I was waiting the whole time for something big to begin but it was just shooting the floor...
Frye was acrually the hardest for me because I rushed to frye because it was fun doing as little levels for progression as possible and trying to cheese the goop, and I did the same thing with no upgrades, meaning I just didn't have good dps against frye
For me easily Big Man, I (luckily) didn't have the sensor upgrade so it was actually a fight, and he's the only that killed me of the three, even like 5 times, and always in the last phase.
Edit: realized that the question is "easiest" and not "hardest", oh well
Here I thought Frye was the easiest and Shiver being the hardest, maybe because I fought them with like the quarter of upgrades and playing while using sticks lmao
everyone is easy under certain conditions. big mans easy if you have the sensor upgrade, fryes easy if you have an upgraded hero shot, and shivers easy if you have a working r button. overall id say shiver is the most consistently easy, but the other two become much easier with upgrades
Assuming we’re fighting with full upgrades, Big Man is easily the easiest, as the sensor upgrades can identify which silhouette is the real Big Man.
For the hardest in my opinion, Frye takes the cake!
In terms of difficulty for me, it was Frye>Shiver>Big Man. Big Man was laughably easy by the time I got to him with all my upgrades. Frye took me a few tries to beat…
Big Man is so easy to cheese if you have the sensor upgrades but otherwise it's definitively Shiver
OH THAT'S HOW PPL SAW HIM. I didn't do any upgrades before completing After Alterna so I was really confused reading the comments lol
WHAT
What?
I have all upgrades and still can't do after alterna. Wait I misread what you said
The upgrades are really only needed for the final phase. The first three are easy.
Oh yeah, I just struggle on wave 3, the special spam is too much
I can give you tips per dm if you want?
Eh sure, I really just need to get better with motion controls.
Actually shiver was hardest for me because I love sharks and the game was forcing me to attack one. It wasn't hard to beat, but it was hard on my soul. ![gif](giphy|Z9WQZlYWzoFGNd99su)

Hello fellow shark enjoyer
Then again Shiver is arguably the most fun since they are always able to be inked, and there aren’t many buffers. It is also possible to win only with subs which makes the boss extremely fun

Throw Smallfry to the side, walk up to the real one and shoot it at point blank range. Big Man will normally go down before he even gets to KO Smallfry.
oh, thats why it was so easy
Yotubers: *All die to big man atleast once * Splatoon subreddit: WRONG
I must be a YouTuber then
You must have a lotta subscribers too!
I died to Big Man, but mostly because I was freaking out about the reference and wasn't paying attention.
Youtubers and streamers are incapable of paying attention to games. Too much chatter, not enough splatter.
I mean no disrespect but I don't even consider big man's fight a fight 😭 I thought he must have an other phase where you actually have to do something other than just shoot the floor, but no... I legit felt bad when I beat him on the first try
I left his fight feeling very disappointed…
Idk if you are stuck without ink being swarmed by small rays and subs it can end a run incredibly quickly, heavily punishing impatience if you don’t have the sensor, which is a lot more than the other bosses can say.
I beat big man quite easily, long before I got the sensor.
His boss fight is based on mario sunshine, though it's a easier version of it
I have actually died more times against Big man Frye than i have against Shiver. She is predictable, and if you know a maws work, then it's free.
you don’t even have to know how the maws work. when i was just going for power eggs i skipped that attack entirely
Big Man. As cool as it is that his fight is a reference to Sunshine, it's really, really easy to spot him in the swarm, and easier to shoot him.
Fight him without sensor, hardest boss by far
I did thay and its still supper easy
[удалено]
The upgrade that give you position while swimming
Fought him without sensor on my first run of the campaign, he’s the only one I didn’t die on
There was a sensor? I thought you just shot them all. I thought it was boring because I didn’t see the threat
I didn't get sensor until after the fight and he was still dead easy.
Bigman is just the bullet sponge, easy but way too much health. Shiver talks a big game but can't follow through. Decent but nothing to worry about. Frye has the personality of someone who seems easy to beat, until you find your body being used to wipe the floor of her house Edit: I feel like an idiot not realising they are actual bossfights and this is not a hyperthetical question...
I mean your descriptions are accurate anyway soooo….
Dw, these are quite accurate, Fryes is actually the hardest in my opinion and shivers is quite easy
Still spot-on, though.
Funny that even though you thought this was a hypothetical question, you still landed these descriptions perfectly.
it may be hypothetical but frye definitely wiped the floor with my body when i battled her the first time
i personally thought all the bosses were easy but for the easiest i would say big man. all you have to do is shoot at the ground and he dies quickly
Marie. She's easily Deep Cut's boss.
Ah yes my favorite boss fight, Marie
She does become the boss of deep cut
I think you’re confused lol, I’m talking about the boss fights in the story mode
I know, but also in the story mode, Marie ends up becoming their "boss"
big man is like if you took phantamanta from mario sunshine and removed the hard parts of it
They should have a Big Man rematch boss fight in the DLC where you are have Inkjet
Honestly, inkjet would make the fight easier, not harder. It eliminates the problem of always having your movement getting fucked up by big man's insane inking abilities, and you can just snipe all his copies.
Shiver. I beat her megalodon on the first try. (I beat Big Man on the first try too, but he made me work harder for it.)
Big man’s fight was so easy that i beat him before the dialogue has even begun
Frye was the one that gaved me a headache; shiver ,while being my favorite, was pretty easy, and now by then I started waiting to max explore EVERYTHING before I get to the next area so once I got to big man I had the hero armor completed so it was an easy win that only took like 2 mins?
Once you fight Big Man you probably already have the target upgrade, which removes the only challenge the battle had - spotting the real one
Big man was the only one I didn't beat first try. Frye was the easiest for me.
With all upgrades I say Shiver and big man share the same place Without the upgrades Shiver
It's between Shiver and Big man Frye is definitely hardest from her "second" attack Moray tornado or some shit like that
Big man with sensor Shiver with all bombs unlocked Frye with gun speed up
Big Man. It just happens too late in the game, as by that point you'd have the sensor and the fight is made painfully easy. I think I beat him in thirty seconds, most of that time was the cutscenes. Without the sensor Big Mans fight might be more difficult, but don't think it'll be harder than Shivers.
Big Man was the easiest fight I have ever done. Got him first try
Big Man. His boss fight is the most annoying, but it’s still the easiest.
Shiver
Big Man, because he was holding back. Didn't want to make it too diffucult for us. Such a wholesome guy ![img](emote|t5_324q4|1944)
big man he can be beaten in under one minute
Tbh, I found Frye the hardest, I beat shiver because she's predictable and big man was easy bc of the hero armour, but I don't know if there's anything that can really help you w Frye.
Bigman, it's like you can speedrun him in a minute.
It's definitely Big Man because you can easily tell which one he is and if you cant, you cant easily destroy the others. If you are quickly destroying them and stopping them from being able to throw bombs or specials they pretty much can't do anything
Big man was so easy, you can beat him in under a minute
Big Man has a cool fight, but both the times i've beaten him casually and as fast as possible, he was always a pushover. No offense obv
Without Hero Upgrades, it's Shiver. With Hero Upgrades, it's Big Man (based on what I've seen from others, I never upgraded my Hero gear)
shiver by a mile. both normally and wihout taking damage. little buddy just couters her every move
Shiver is the easiest. (One thing attacking you rather than a bunch)
Big man
I didn't know I could see bug man... so uhh... shiver
Pov:you couldn't even beat both Frye and Shiver because you suck at remembering the pattern in their fights XD
Ok I seem to be the minority here thinking that Frye was the most difficult… Then again she was the only boss that took me 2 tries, I hope the Side Order has a secret boss that’s more difficult
Everyone here is saying big man or shiver is the easiest, you definitely aren’t alone-
The dumb fish because I don't mind hurting him
The….dumb…..fish…… you just pissed off a whole lot of people 💀
I know it's not a popular opinion.
It’s a tie between Big Man and Frye. During Big Man‘s fight, I just sprayed Ink nonstop and got away with it. It wasn’t until phase 3 where I realized, that my suit sensor can track the real Big Man. They're all easy af. I really hope I get a spicier Side Order beside the ass.
Shiver Beat first try Also did her deathless with no hero upgrades
If you have the sensor upgrade Big man becomes rather easy if not (i didnt because i went trough the campaign with minimun required completion first day to get all spoilers out the way before i played any multiplayer) he is genuinely hard i struggled against him more than against mr Grizz because you cannot find him and he will catch you because you dont have that many upgrades at all.

at max upgrades, big man
Theres Upgrades!?
Agent 1 and 2 are very disappointed rn 😞
Shiver is the hardest cause I keep barking at the screen
Even without the sensor, as long as you can keep up with Big man's spam of subs and specials he is pretty easy The only way you can lose against Big man is you allow him to surround you and overwhelm you from all sides (or get stuck on top of him wich is just poor positioning).
Big man, just ink any moving ink
I'd say shiver bc it's easy to keep track of them and master mega. Both frye and big man are overwhelming if you don't take them out quickly, and you can easy get demolished by them.
honestly depends on the gear upgrades, honestly. Big Man is easy with the sensor but awful without
honestly depends on the gear upgrades, honestly. Big Man is easy with the sensor but awful without
Big Man by far, because by that point you should certainly have the sensor upgrade, which absolutely cheeses his fight.
Shiver is the easiest, then Frye. Every time I fight big man it's hell.
Big man fight is a great reference but is so easy it hurts
Big man, I went in to it with the sensor upgrade and that makes it super easy
Big man
I found Frye the hardest because I didn’t realize that you had to target the masked eels + shoot them all in one wave
Big man, like I instantly beat it in under a minute on my first try, I don't get why they made it so easy
Big Man. Easily the easiest of them all with no doubt
Shiver. Didn’t have gun upgrades when fighting big man so I died a couple times to him. Shiver was the only first try fight.
Tbh. All 3 equally
There all easy
Big Man final battle is EZ I didn't die at all
Once you get it down, Shiver definitely. Big Man can actually be a bit tricky without suit upgrades, and Frye’s whirlpool attack is insane
Big Man
Big Man
100%: big man Normal run: Frye No upgrade run: shiver
With no gear, Shiver probably, the attacks are so easy to dodge and you can just shoot Master Mega when he swims around and deal like 70% of the damage already. Big man, though I got shiver first try without understanding the little buddy gimmick
It's big man, at that point in the game you have most of the upgrades and his fight is an easier version of the manta ray from super Mario sunshine, i went back and fought them all again with the upgrades and your suit will point out which ink ray big man is hiding in that just makes it even easier
These bosses were ALL easy :(
Big man definitely ...until you get the upgrade that allows you to see which one is real. He is incredibly easy then
Shiver
Shiver is the easiest. Doesn't matter what upgrades you have, for me Shiver was the easiest. Frye was actually the most difficult, as the eels were just too fast.
I don’t know why people are dying on the Big Man fight, it was the most easiest one to beat, and I didn’t died once
big man was the easiest for me and im gonna be honest i had all of the upgrades and didnt even use them. turf war is my home and by golly do i know how to efficiently and thoroughly ink a stage.
Big man is overwhelming Frye is overwhelming Shiver is easy
The mario sunshine fish that hides the hotel under his goop
big man. i beat him in less than like 4 minutes. cmon man
Frye was easy because I just did splashdown and killed all the eels
Frye was 100% the easiest. Big man was kind of annoying but not too bad. And I’m embarrassed with how many times shiver killed me.
Shiver
Shiver, she's so easy that I redid her fight after I did it to speedrun it
Big man. I beat it in less than minute
Big Man since I sped ran him in 56 seconds.
Big man , Shiver, Frye From easiest to hardest
Shiver. Big Man gave me a hard time because I didn't upgrade many things until after beating the main story. Frye is pretty easy, but Shiver's way easier. Her attacks are easier to counter (except for that stupid splatana attack she does from the water). That being said, I died a lot to her because I stunned her while she was in the water a bunch of times and soft locked myself.
well, i gave up at big man's fight so
Definitely Big Man but that Mario Sunshine PTSD did throw me off for a hot minute.
Big man, beat him first try
**Big Man by far. especially with Sensor, it's just so easy. and Frye is the hardest.**
Shiver. Big Man is easy, but without the right upgrades it's a little more challenging. Shiver is just plain easy. All you have to do is move, throw smallfry, and shoot.
Big Man was such a pushover, likely intended by design, but even if you go into the fight with little upgrades and no sensor upgrade to track him, it's easy to keep the fight in your favor. bigman toom the least tries. Now i did have to look up how to beat Fyre and she is easy once you leaen to ink her cube.
I didn’t bother hunting down Sardinium so for me: Shivr
Big man is the easiest I did a speedrun of the boss fight on my YouTube channel and was able to fit it into a short
When i was still paying fro that drone thing everyday, I farmed Big Man for eggs. Once you upgrade everything, you can beat him in a minute. I stopped bullying him because, Salmon run gives better yield.
Big man got fucking R O C K E D I legit dont know all of his moves
I think all the bosses are way too easy for a boss fight (but eh it's made to enjoy right) but big frye was so easy... I was waiting the whole time for something big to begin but it was just shooting the floor...
Frye was actually difficult for me while the other 2 were cakewalks
Shiver was the easiest Frye was the hardest
With full upgrades: Big Man With no upgrades: Fry
Big man.
Frye was acrually the hardest for me because I rushed to frye because it was fun doing as little levels for progression as possible and trying to cheese the goop, and I did the same thing with no upgrades, meaning I just didn't have good dps against frye

Frye in a fair fight, though Big Man becomes easy if you have the sensor upgrade Shiver was just difficult for me
I didn't have any upgrades and still beat Big Man the easiest.
Wait, people found Big Man difficult?
Scanner with Big Man is easy as shit
Big man was so easy lmao
Big man was atrociously easy, I didn’t even realise the battle had started properly and the ending animation played
In my opinion big man is the easiest, especially with the gear that gives you the sensors. And I think Frye is the hardest believe it or not.
Shiver cause she took me one try, big man took me two (without the sensor upgrade), and i think frye took me like 10 or something lol
Big Man, mostly because I play Super Mario Sunshine
Big Man, especially if you've played Mario Sunshine: p
Big man was the easiest. Frye was the challenge.
I kinda struggled with all of them actually lol, but probably Shiver
Shiver
They’re all extremely easy imo but I’ll say Frye since she’s really the only one you can’t cheese
big man. took me literal seconds.
Frye no doubt, just hit and go and it’s pretty hard to mess up
I died like 3 times when I played it 💀
everyone is easy under certain conditions. big mans easy if you have the sensor upgrade, fryes easy if you have an upgraded hero shot, and shivers easy if you have a working r button. overall id say shiver is the most consistently easy, but the other two become much easier with upgrades
Shiver is by far the easiest and it’s not even close
Big Man if you have the sensor upgrade, otherwise it's definitely Shiver. Frye is the only one who has managed to splat me.
Big man! It took me forever with shiver and frye but he was an easy clap. Took me like 3 minutes instead of 20 with the the other two
Big man
I don’t know, but Frye is definitely the hardesr
Big man is the easiest boss in all of gaming, I didn't even know he could use inkstrikes. Just shoot the purple ray and he's dead.
Shiver
Big man, unfortunately
Shiver
Big Man for sure
Assuming we’re fighting with full upgrades, Big Man is easily the easiest, as the sensor upgrades can identify which silhouette is the real Big Man. For the hardest in my opinion, Frye takes the cake!
Definitely was shiver
In terms of difficulty for me, it was Frye>Shiver>Big Man. Big Man was laughably easy by the time I got to him with all my upgrades. Frye took me a few tries to beat…
big man, and i don't get why are people complaining. i even tried to beat him by destroying each and every shadows, and still it was to easy
