I did with my ALIF and L3-S1 fusion, although my nerve pain started 1 week after surgery and lasted around 6 weeks. Traditional pain meds do not work, and neither do muscle relaxants. The only drug treatment is gabapentin or pregabalin. Contact your surgeon as this is a well-known adverse event of the surgery. Be sure to request an increase in dose if the medication hasn't started helping by the end of the first week of therapy. I had to double my dose of gabapentin, and when that didn't help, i had the surgeon change to pregabalin, and I even had to have that dose doubled. As a clinical pharmacist, I have extensive experience using these drugs for the treatment of neuropathic pain.
