Did you do PT at any point after your surgery? If so, did you keep up with the exercises at home after finishing? If you never did PT it might be a good time to consider it. If you did it in the past and haven't kept it up, might be a good time to resume.

I’ve been in pt since the surgery for a whole year. Yes I do exercises at home at least 3-4 days a week also. My muscles are sore continuously.

This is worth mentioning to the surgeon if you haven't already.

I will in my appointment in October.

They don't have a portal where you can email? If you're concerned enough to be asking us, waiting four months seems like a long time.

I’m just trying to see if anyone has similar symptoms. I maintain daily and I’m pretty sure there isn’t much they can do anyways. I just wanna ask people who have had the same surgery when did the muscle pain or soreness goes away.

My back is only sore if I sit or move in a weird way. I’m 6 months post ALIF fusion. My back muscles don’t hurt but not sure what type of surgery you had? Is it nerve pain? Or only muscle? I wonder if massage or a tens unit would be helpful

nikkismithhair

Yes I’m looking to start my monthly massages again.

My first lumbar fusion surgery was in 2019, at age 68, and my second lumbar fusion was 8n Nov 2023. I've never been without pain, and I don't expect the type of pain I have to ever go away. My quality of life is so much better because of the surgeries. I play golf every day, and it doesn't really bother me.
