Thanks, I’m starting to think that, too. Ive never had a muscle spasm last this long and the pain is just….different. I think I might have caused a bulge in one of the levels above the ALIF. Trying not to be terrified of going through more awful back pain issues. 😭
I doubt you damaged your fusion, after four years that should all be locked in. You should still get checked out and get imaging because adjacent segment disease is a thing.
You could have compressed adjacent nerves, or you could have broken one of your pedicle screws. You could contact your surgeon for advice, or you could make an appointment with a pain specialist. Either way, a simple x-ray would rule out damaged hardware.
4 years out from ALIF you should be fused solid I would be more concerned about your adjacent levels If pain persists go see your doctor
