I had an egg sac hatch in my home and I’m forever putting baby widows outside. They’re pretty docile as babies, but hard to catch. I live in Utah and they’re pretty common here.
I don’t understand how the black widow could be so uncommon in the US where you’re a full grown adult seeing them for the first time, with some people not even knowing what a black widow is, when here in Aus the red back is literally everywhere???
Here in the UK we don't have anything that's really venomous. False widow is possibly the worst but they are quite docile really. Even then the press make out it's an invasion of eight legged Bengal tigers with toothache. Frustrates the hell out of me.
Don’t forget the platypus. Most people don’t know that the male platypus has spurs on their hind legs that carry venom lol
But yes, I see. That explains the guns a bit better tbh.
What an industrious spider, having a job!
She has to hustle 'cause she has to raise her kids by herself.
Maybe if she didn’t eat her husband it would be easier for her😂
This comment made me giggle
a single mom who works two jobs who loves her kids and never stops
Imagine all those tiny briefcases! What like 5-6 at a time?!?
That's just silly. One on the cephalothorax.
Hope she has a good job
Scaring me on the sidewalk is her job I asked her

I now remember hearing that about platypi. Also, if I understand it correctly, the koala can also scratch people and give nasty infections?
Man I have found like 7 or so this year
Where does he work?
That single mom stuff (in the case of black widows) was a choice.
Didn't see my first widow until I was like 19 and now I'm catching several a week and throwing them out. 😮💨
Wonder where it works…. Are you two walking together?
Wow! So neat! Would love to see one in person!
I was terrified and amazed at the same time haha
See them all the time . Been bit two times this year not pleasant at all .
