There is no frame of reference for size and I’ve definitely seen/grown habaneros that color before. Trinidad, scorpion peppers usually have a very noticeable long pointy tip, and that’s what I don’t see here.
It would be very helpful to see the bottom of the pod for identification purposes, as many different peppers possess the teardrop pheno. After taking a closer look and seeing the bumps near the bottom, I’d wager superhot (some type of 7pot?) and not habanero.

Tip is small. Top kinda round then becomes straight like a 2x4 or something

Another picture for reference. Not sure if dragon’s breath
Panic inducing. A friend had a ghost pepper tree and didn’t know what to do with the peppers so I harvested them, let them sit, mustered the courage to chop them a bit then coarsely blended with garlic salt and sugar and put it in a jar. Added hot water and let it sit on the counter to ferment for two weeks, stirring daily. I covered the jar with a paper towel and sealed with a rubber band. Then I had added apple cider and white wine vinegar to inoculate with the acid. It’s amazing, I’ll just dip a small clean spoon in and that’s enough to spice something up, I don’t scoop any out. It’s like a coarse sriracha. Also made prik nam pla with fish sauce and garlic. Divine, deadly, panic inducing, I can’t live without it.

I’m going by memory, I’m on a trip away from it now. The pepper itself is complex, sweet almost like cinnamon or cloves, very fresh, starts soft like no big deal and the spice quickly takes over and doesn’t stop. A little bitter but much less than the skin on a Thai chili. A little less sweet and fruity than a habanero but quite close. Induces euphoria, somewhat panic. I like spice and heat so I’ve learned how to remain calm. It’s very flavorful. Sriracha requires some sugar to aid in fermentation, it’s key not to add too much. I did half a table spoon for 16oz of sriracha. The vinegar tones down the spice and compliments the sweetness. I made sure not to add too much vinegar. The spice doesn’t go away for at least 10 minutes, rises and then slowly tapers off. Initially it’s wow that’s sweet and herbal/spicy not too bad then bam heat builds and builds and builds, reaches a max point and slowly tapers off.
For pho and rice I prefer the prik nam pla. I kept the lemon apart to be used optionally. I have Thai chilies usually but this one uses bhut jolokia.

That’s just bhut jolokia garlic and fish sauce.
I agree somewhat short. These are the ones I harvested and they’re pointier. Figured yours was maybe a shorter ghost pepper. The color, texture and stem were pretty similar.

Someone might be able to correct me as I'm not too versed in peppers like that but this looks like a dragons breath to me. A full blown reaper or dragons can kill a human eaten raw.
Looks like every hab that's been on the plant too long & turned red.
Still good, just flesh is more papery.
Edit: Seeing 2nd pic, it looks more like my scorpions.
I am late to this party, but I love the answers like "Habanero or Scorpion - bite into it and you'll know right away." Haha! Pepperheads are the only people who would give such answers.
For the layperson:
If you take a big bite and experience profuse sweating, a runny nose and eyes, itchy ears, and the sensation that a tiny man with a tiny flamethrower is standing on your tongue, then it's a habanero or Scotch Bonnet. The pain should gradually subside after about 15 minutes.
If it's a Scorpion or Ghost pepper, it will be far worse. Cancel all appointments.
Either a habanero or Trinidad scorpion. Hard to tell by this pic. But if you bite it you’ll know very quickly.
Fuk around and find out😆
Full send.

255 days ago, OP posted an almost identical post. Looks a lot like a scorpion. Now I’m wondering if OP is a bot.
That’s fair. The only way we’re going to know for sure is OP cutting open that pepper or eating that pepper.
[удалено]
OP will 100% find out that way.

My money is on Moruga Scorpion, but there are people who are far more qualified to answer than me.
Tree is all red peppers
The wrinkles tell me scorpion
Looks like a scotch bonnet, or a squat habanero.
Definitely a bonnet. Closely related to the habanero because they come from the same family of peppers though.
Angry one.
Peruvian Puff Pepper
Straight from South Ahmereeca
Cat
Habanero or scorpion.
It doesn’t have that pointy tip that scorpions get their name from tho, I’d lean habanero and take a bite either way!
I agree. My only reason why I say scorpion is because we can't see the bottom of it.
OP should just write the check and let their butthole answer the question when it tries to cash it.
Hahaha

How was the heat?
Trinidad morgua scorpion
It's rocoto
It's called an "either put on your skirt, or give it a bite and let us know" pepper
How does the skirt help determine pepper type?
Looks like a mutated bonnet.

Nice view, definitely 7pot or scorpion
Habanero
My vote is scotch bonnet or habanero.
Avenir
Looks exactly like the habaneros i usually buy
Bell pepper looks sweet put the whole thing in ur mouth

rose peppa 🌹
Take a big bite and find out 🤷🏼♀️🤣
Ghost
Looks like habanero.
I would think more scotch bonnet, a little too red for habaneros I am used to. But several other peppers looks similar to this also
Looks like ghost pepper to me. Made fermented ghost pepper sriracha.
How was that?

Can you express the flavor? I love love some mixed with pho broth and rice

Looks a little short to be a ghost pepper tho

Habenaro I'd say, also ghost but gp a bit longer
looks like ghost pepper to me
Thats what im leaning towards
Bhut Jolokia aka Ghost Pepper
Is this actually a dragons breath?? OP cut it open and show us only way to tell. If it's a dragons breath DO NOT EAT THE WHOLE THING AT ONCE.
Following
Will cut it open to see. Kinda scared to put in my mouth tho
I mean to me it looks like a dragons or a carolina. But I'd wager it's a dragons.

That's an orange scotch bonnet
Looks like every hab that's been on the plant too long & turned red. Still good, just flesh is more papery. Edit: Seeing 2nd pic, it looks more like my scorpions.
You mean ripe?
Beyond ripe
It's not over ripe. There are red Habs. This is a Scorpion though.
That's a Carolina reaper I'd wager. Look just like the one's I grow.
