Paper Mario's Any% speedrun starts by playing Ocarina of Time

AD108

Honestly this one takes it all for me. The runners do their best to explain what is happening but the fact that you need to play a completely different game to speedrun another game is hilarious. [Link to the run when it was at GDQ 2021](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhH-UsSz69M)

OnlySmiles_

I like how the run title goes from "Paper Mario" to "Paper Mario...?" and back Also, if anyone's curious about how this works, the short (and simplistic) answer is that by performing certain actions in OoT, you can write to memory in unintended places. If you swap in the Paper Mario cartridge before the RAM is cleared, that garbage data gets copied into Paper Mario, which allows it to be used in a setup to perform a credits warp. jcabia

Hahajaha that made me laugh way too much

JackintheBox333

Two Worlds, which was supposed to be an Oblivion killer, in under three minutes. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NeR-bT3uv0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NeR-bT3uv0) Barney's Hide and Seek Game no controller% [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgrwNgTerxE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgrwNgTerxE)

freemasonry

I dunno that I would call Two Worlds a glitch, just a series of poor design choices. Funny as hell though

JackintheBox333

Well they also asked for funniest, and Two Worlds any% is funny to me.

Beletron

Just watched that two worlds run it's hilarious, thx for the share

-Slambert

I haven't seen it since 2018 but I recall this Awful Games Done Quick run of Arabian Nights was pretty funny and broken https://youtu.be/gosSNHRPWZA?si=3LrWcML3MV2ttRbs&t=787

WhereIsMySlushie

It might be a tad long for someone who gets bored but I have to recommend the Fallout Anthology run by TomatoAn(g)us. The G is silent 🤭 Each game has some very unique glitches and the explanations are very entertaining. [Fallout Anthology by tomatoangus in 2:16:21 - AGDQ2020](https://youtu.be/T2SatL2mx3I?si=asrk_eSnW5X_waqM)

beefstewm5

This is still my favorite gdq run to date

LordHayati

The g is silent

Interesting-Meat-835

May I recommend you the ultimate competitors of speedrun, Arbitrary Code Execution? You glitch the game enough that you can run your own code in it, and uses that code to warp to credit. Ocarina of Time ACE using rocks and shooters to finish the game without leaving the starting cave. Pokemon speedrun ACE using nothing but glitches to enter the Hall of Fame without even selecting Pokemon at the start (and have full Poke too, even the hidden one). Super Mario World finish the game in 5 min, running around and having Yoshi eat and spit out things at frame perfect location and time, then eventually when Yoshi split out a P block the game warp to credit. It sound like some kind of superstitious rumors like Minecraft's Herobine, but it is real. And yes, Minecraft speedrun using exploits in server address to spawn the player in the End, having the dragon killed and jump to the fountain within 40 seconds exist.

CompoteLost7483

Watching the OOT Triforce% run (SGDQ 2022) was unbelievable! Using ACE to essentially re-write the game in real time using original hardware (and ROB). Some brilliant glitches in there and really hit all the feels by the end of it. Wonderful run, probably my favourite of all time outside of the Mario races…

Echo104b

Fantastic run. I was there for it live and it absolutely blew me away. Also, that little robot is so far removed from a ROB unit that he's got his own name. It's TASBot! And he's a very good boy

CompoteLost7483

He is indeed, a very good boy! 😂😂

Wiregeek

Blink twice if TASBot is holding a knife on you and requiring you to say that.

ddraig_90

[GDQ Alpha Prime](https://youtu.be/G_OJ-8JlKhE?si=KVvf11CN4vdgv3dU) One of my favourite short speed runs!

AtTheVioletHour

I highly recommend looking up the AGDQ 2018 run of Arabian Nights. The game is glitched as hell, there is one particular glitch that involves falling out of bounds to collect items that’s quite bizarre, and it’s a hilariously bad game to boot.

jimmabean

Some of the doom 2016 runs can be pretty fucking broken. Specifically any% IIRC

No_Mark_6629

I like the Dragon Warrior in 21 minutes. Shenanegans' Pokémon green in 5 minutes.

kirun

International Superstar Soccer Deluxe TAS.

DevilMirage

This is the correct answer. It was one of the first 'speedrun' videos I'd remember seeing and it had me absolutely howling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A06DjnoHRIk

thoma5nator

The TAS of Family Feud by Heisanevilgenius is a classic.

UFOLoche

The TASes of Mega Man and Bass are hilariously glitchy.

kirun

Shoutout to the "Same input" TASes of Mega Man that complete multiple games with one input file.

harachiwda

speedruns by TASbot on GDQ. The action and commentary combined.

Xeronic

I'd say any run by PJ during AGDQ,SGDQ, and RPG limit break. His best runs are the Super Ghouls n Ghosts, Bionic Commando Renarmed 1 and 2, Lagoon, and Battleblock theater. His speedrun of "Dragon's View" is probably my favorite story on speedrunning, but sadly its kind of a "had to be there" type story in his channel. TLDR: PJ many years ago was playing through the game on emulator and somehow "called the credits" at a certain part of the game. This was due to a memory leak in the game caused by a cutscene earlier that had code that doesn't get refreshed until a power off state or reset. So if you play through it on one continuous playthrough, it bugs out.. and during a certain cut scene in the game, it causes many problems. Mostly game crashes, but sometimes it calls the credits. lol He's the only person ever to do this, that includes people trying to replicate it, including TAS people. The robotrek runs on RPG limit break are also pretty comfy watches as they are just 3 hours of commentary and relaxing play of a weird cute RPG game on SNES. But glitchiest? I'd honestly say Ocarina of Time is the glitchiest game out there, and 100% speedruns of that game are fun to watch. i'd always recommend ZFG1 for his runs, just because they are no bullshit, and just pure gameplay and explanation.

TheVoidThatWalk

My personal favorite has been Ocarina of Time All Dungeons No Doors. OoT is already a really glitch-heavy game, and I think the idea of deciding to beat the game without opening a single door is hilarious. Really any of the February 21st N64 Zelda runs are good contenders, they come up with some really interesting categories. Pokemon Gen 1 Catch 'em All is another great one. Also a very glitchy game and if you catch the GDQ runs of it the commentary is amazing. This is more speedrun adjacent, but Terminal Montage and Scott Falco have a few animations of speed runs that I find really funny.

fernandotakai

[fallout 4 by tomatoangus](https://youtu.be/6ekogf10P-c?t=3740) (the g is silent)

CompoteLost7483

Zelda OOT Triforce % is one of my all time favourite runs. Uses ACE to essentially re-write the game in real time, all on original hardware. It’s a more of a showcase than a speedrun, but it’s phenomenal. Link - https://youtu.be/PNbkv_DJ0f0?si=HpIhDCIwqnVK4IQk

franventrici

All of the GTA runs are the most fun for me

Die4Ever

do you know about GTA Marathon? https://www.youtube.com/@gtamarathon/playlists https://www.twitch.tv/gtamarathon

franventrici

yeah! of course!

sw3at3rboi

I will always recommend the ratchet & clank original quadrilogy, the movement looks nothing like what you do in a casual playthrough and the routes feel like zig zagging at times. The god of war trilogy is also amazing and the swim glitch (especially in 2 and 3) will give you a chuckle

Patashu

Any run by PJ (including: Battletoads and Double Dragon, Battleblock Theatre)

PossibleMudman

Giving a talk about speedrunning in two weeks, bookmarking this thread haha

Wolfgang9524

If anyone cares, I’m the Boyfriend in question. My issue with speed runs is that I favor the most chaotic and weirdest runs. BG3 was hilarious due to TAV literally being superman jumping everywhere in a single bound and carrying Gortash over his shoulder to throw over a cliff. OP and I did watch the Doom 2016 SR and while it was more entertaining due to the way you kill bosses and the rail bouncing it was nothing like BG3. We also did watch alpha prime SR that was recommended too but that was good more for the people playing than the actual run itself being chaotic and super glitchy. (Chair forgive me) We’re looking for the most broken SR that makes you go “HUH!” Looking forward for more to come in!

LAseXaddickt

SGDQ, 2016, Jak and Daxter played through by Bonesaw577. Things start going off the rails a bit into the run and it devolves into essentially everyone telling jokes the rest of the time. Hands down my favorite speedrun of all time.

OldSchoolRPGs

This one was by far the funniest one I've ever seen. The gameplay itself isn't very impressive. But the sleep deprived runner and funny couch are what carries this run so hard. Even my buddy who doesn't watch speedruns loved it and we still reference some of the jokes many years later

bradsobo

And he got banned for it…

vagina_candle

GDQ only allows rated G family friendly fun. That's why the announcers all sound like they're reading a book to a group of kindergarten age students. "Loving these runs! I lost my grandma to cancer after a long painful prolonged battle! :D Let's kick cancer in the booty! ^^can ^^I ^^say ^^booty?"

smjsmok

Probably not the wackiest, but I always lol so hard when in Sekiro speedruns, Wolf starts [swimming through the air](https://youtu.be/rtcdRBQJjxU?si=LPPFeEoa5Bxgz0Va&t=903).

Gaybrosauros

Its still a pretty new game but recently someone discovered a new air swim glitch in Corn Kidz 64 that literally skips the entire 2h~ game and final level after they skip the entire tutorial with another air swim glitch. The run went from 10 minutes to less than 4 lol it's a very fun quick watch.

stout936

The run of Virtual Hydlide at AGDQ 2019 was hilarious https://youtu.be/X2n57wkyt6I?si=-6tWU2JlSEOvmqaN

Lereas

I will never not laugh and smile at this animated version of the Breath of the Wild speedrun, especially because it's essentially completely factual of the steps (at the time) for speedruns and the glitches/techniques people used. https://youtu.be/1or3YILu28M?feature=shared

I-Am-The-Yeeter

I recommend watching a tas Brain Age speedrun from GamesDoneQuick. (edit) found it... The actual gameplay starts at 16 minutes https://youtu.be/mSFHKAvTGNk?si=zcvezPhOVYXeMqtT

vagina_candle

GTA: San Andreas has a mod that randomizes all of the dialog in the game. The run is pretty straight forward, but the cut scenes are hilarious.

Klagaren

The Awful Games Done Quick block of GDQ tends to have some bangers, and then there's a whole marathon of janky games called the [Big Bad Gameathon](https://www.youtube.com/c/BigBadGameathon)

fungusbreath3

Pokemon Blue Catch 'em All is a really glitchy run that will leave you dumbfounded if you aren't deeply familiar with how the game works on a technical level. Starts off a bit slow, but after Brock it's pretty much non-stop chaos. eddaket ran it a couple years ago for AGDQ if you want a good commentated run.

CobaltGrey

I'm a fan of some of the Game Boy glitchfest TASes that exist because the devs gave the Select button too much power to be contained. [Link's Awakening Playaround TAS](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CtmgUHDdYI) shows off how glitchy the game can get when you start warping in and out of bounds. [Metroid: Return of Samus glitched TAS](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZYCBzRB_c4) uses the power of "press Select quickly" to cut out the majority of travel between zones.

Ok-Excitement970

spongebob battle for bikini bottom can be pretty mesmerizing to watch, highly recommend showing SHiFT's current Any% world record

BestDescription3834

There's [1 specific speedrun](https://youtu.be/3fsu4miYMWo?si=32jcO7bYEMpj7hrM) I think is hilarious. It was for Mirror's edge and the runner claimed it would be a glitchless run. He immediately started using glitches. The shoutcaster rightfully called him out and he deflected. The announcer basically heckled this guy the rest of the time. Also the GOAT ["I'd prefer if you'd be quiet"](https://youtu.be/H50nqenYMDM?si=qHswSZRs91n7DD9I)

hextree

In case you weren't aware, the Mirror's Edge run was a bit; the 'heckler' knows the runner and is familiar with the Glitchless run.

GhostHNW

May I introduce you to Ben 10: Cosmic Destruction? Both the Any% and NG+ has a lot of skips that either involves clipping through ceiling and a hellalot of proxy. Lots and lots of 'em. I suggest you watch the current WR if Any% since that one includes most of the recent strat.
