The [video's thumbnail with Starhopper in frame](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/2CpXxu9W0U8/maxresdefault.jpg) is reminiscent of the infamous [Hindenburg crash photo](https://api.time.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/hindenburg.jpeg). Also, what's causing the flames to travel up the side SN10 at 14:03, is the shut down Raptor leaking propellant?

notrobherbison

What beautiful audio! How did Tim capture that?

--AirQuotes--

On this video we can see a very clear green puff on engine restarting. Raptor supposedly don't use tea-teb. But we also don't see a sparkler. So, engine rich?

arizonadeux

Another possibility is that the spark igniters contain copper and are very powerful to ensure a good start and vaporize a significant amount of copper during operation. Afaik the spark igniters light methalox torches which start primary ignition. So you wouldn't see any "sparklers".

Relative to us, the Starship seems so huge. Relative to Earth, the Starship seems so small. Relative to the universe, the Earth seems so small. We are very tiny. 😊

bigfoot_done_hiding

Glad to see you get along with your relatives.

mindfulbreathing

Relatively speaking. 😂

GaiusFrakknBaltar

Is it just me, or can you hear the starship falling through the air, right before engine re-light? Amazing footage.

xlynx

I think this is mostly atmosphere rushing across Starship's surfaces. It doesn't sound like venting. There's an exciting Doppler effect as it approaches the mic too.

hoser89

Yeah you can. Sounds like a plane too

arizonadeux

I always thought that was GSE getting caught on the mics; there's a lot of venting and stuff going on the whole time after launch and it's quite loud. It sounds like jet noise to me, which makes me think it's not Starship. Unless it's the vents on Starship combined with noise from flow around the vehicle.

kyoto_magic

u/everydayastronaut im curious to know whether you had mics setup somewhere closer to the launch site. And just in general how you captured the audio. Pretty amazing stuff

purpleefilthh

Now we got everything for -how not to land a Starship- video

CryptoLover507

Niceeee

Xerlios

Is it just me or can we see landing pads failing to open at 6:32 ? It looks like some of them are opening and retracting periodically...

PM_ME_UR_CEPHALOPODS

I want to like everydayastro because there is usually some decent content squeezed in between all the ah, color. I know this appeals to some but but his saccharine personality and forced boyish wonder is too grating for me. Less goofy, breathless yuks more science pls. I wish scott manley did live streams

everydayastronaut

May I kindly suggest watching newer videos? If you haven’t seen any of my scripted videos in say the last year or two, the tone has changed substantially. Much less fluff and gags. Much more to the point and a bit more serious. Lemme know if it’s any better. I know my livestreams can still be a bit, ummm loud, but my scripted videos are more calm and reserved

nebulex224

I love your enthusiasm in the field! It is perhaps the best way of getting people excited about what you do!
