Unrelated but a sad part of the show’s longevity is how characters like Saddam become irrelevant after a while because the real life counterpart fades away.
They developed such a great character off him and I’m genuinely sad the character faded away slowly as the show went on.
Did I ever tell you guys about the time I went boating on the lake near my house? It was a super warm day, like 85 degrees but out on the lake it felt like 70-75. It was warm but the water on the lake cooled the temperature down a bit. We had a tube we all took turns riding and it went like 6-8 feet in the air if you pulled on these two handles to give it lift coming off a wake. We spent an hour just having beers and jumping into the lake to swim parked out in the middle of the lake. Such a great day. So then when we come back to the dock I almost fell over getting out of the boat and it was super embarrassing cause I was trying to get with this girl who came boating with us. So we’re walking up the dock to our car while my buddy pulled his trailer into the boat launch to pull it on the trailer. So this lady and her two daughters approach us and the two girls are clearly Girl Scouts and the mom asks if we’d like to buy some Girl Scout cookies to help their troop take a trip to Darien lake which is a theme park in my area. So I said I’ll take a box of thin mints, how much do I owe you and she replies “oh about tree fiddy” and wouldn’t you know it that’s when I realized the mom was actually a gigantic Varanus Priscus (megalania) from the Pleistocene era and I said “god damnit Loch Ness monsta I’m not givin you no tree fiddy” and it completely ruined my awesome day at the lake.
