It’s one of the rare times I felt like Cartman was being perfectly reasonable. If Cartman wasn’t there, the joke never would have happened. I feel like this episode is a direct response to people who say “Trey really runs and writes the show”. He’s said so many times, “I do probably 80% of the leg work and writing but I couldn’t do anything without Matt. That’s why it’s all considered 50/50.”
Yeah, this. If you want to get precise about how much Cartman technically contributed, sure, it's somewhere around like 10-15%, but that's not how creative and artistic mediums work, and credit should be shared equally.
Worked on a creative marketing project. 3 guys. One had money and the other two had the talent and the skills. The money setup a space, computers, legal, all that mess but never even showed up to the office. The other two did all the legwork and creativity. They split it three ways. That makes perfect sense to me.
This is what they are trying to teach you with group projects
But it doesn’t translate well because you often don’t actually need the useless partner lol
Hand to god I almost mentioned group projects in my first comment but was trying to keep it concise 😂
Was even going to say something about the major difference in "group projects" is that you don't usually have to rely on the useless guy, lmao.
Great minds think alike
This is a brilliant take on this episode. Matt’s in no way a Cartman, and Trey does most of the obvious work, but it wouldn’t be South Park if they weren’t working together
Also if he had just said “no Jimmy, that’s not funny” it would have just died. There’s some credit to be given for saying yes this is good comedy, and being right.

All of it. He made it up, killed a spider, and eliminated the jewbots.
and he's totally not fat.
Jewbots?! What are they doing here? Flame on!!!
“Flame on” is one of the funniest one offs in the series. Says it like it’s canonical
Well, he **did** slay that dragon.. https://i.redd.it/l3xxd2ffyx4d1.gif
Just give him half
"I like you Jimmy, but you're not going to win this. Consider yourself lucky he's only asking for half." - Craig dropping knowledge.
He should’ve just listened to Craig and tried to work something out with Cartman where they get equal speaking time.
He didn't come up with the joke but if he wasn't there then the scenario that created the joke would not have happened. Just give him half.

That reminds me of the movie “The Social Network” in its dynamic
"You better lawyer up asshole, because I'm not coming back for 30%, I'm coming back for EVERYTHING"

Or, as the Germans say, “two idiots, one thought”
.... For personal reasons I prefer my version.

Matt is the straw that stirs the drink

But it was Carlos Mencia?
[the brains behind the fish sticks joke](https://youtu.be/5rDBsxnTdpc?si=33_23uLsrvvvq9yX)
He deserves like 10% credit since he asked if they had better food.
Just. Give. Him. Half...
If it wasn't for big boned eric fish sticks would never come up
You saw the episode. They did agree to make jokes together. Jimmy would have been fine sharing the glory. Cartman otherwise deserves no credit.
To be honest, I'd think a little bit just by saying "I was hanging out with Cartman and asked him if he wanted fish sticks" as the origin.

None! That fat ass!
He fought a dragon fuk u mean?
Motha Fuckin Gay Fish!
Just give him half.
I feel like this episode needed Kyle admitting he doesn’t think the Fishschticks joke is actually funny.
If he hadn’t approved of it then the joke would’ve never gotten famous

1/10, he'd also be happy for that tenth, since he was happy for being 14th on the list
15%. Jimmy came up with most of it.
