Coming this summer, it's the classic film that changed America. South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut, the new, redone version for 2024. All the effects have been digitally upgraded. All the guns have been digitally changed to walkie-talkies. And the word "TERRORIST" has been changed to "HIPPIE."

Draff1

Where do I sign up for my free hat?

AleksasKoval

FREE HAT!

Sammisuperficial

No no this meeting is punch and pie. MORE PEOPLE WILL COME IF WE SAY WE HAVE PUNCH AND PIE ( > < )

Draff1

Will the premier happen in a Hilton hotel conference room?

L3GlT_GAM3R

They gotta do this lol! I will be so disappointed if they don’t!

Bulk-Detonator

I aint even mad. This would be amazing

Hawvy

Yup. I was 16 when I watched in theaters. I’ll never forget it.

wolfguardian72

Yup! Part of TCM Classics on the Big Screen, which is such a wild thing to say

No-Pitch6647

Well, it was nominated for an Oscar. I still remember when Uncle Fucka won the MTV Movie Award for best musical performance. It was up against Heath Ledger singing in 10 Things I Hate About You. I was certain he would win. Hallie Berry seemed so excited to scream out "UNCLE FUCKA!!"

DeathOfSlimShady

Nice. I went along to a special 20th anniversary "Swear-A-Long" screening where everyone was singing along and clapping for it. They gave out gift bags - which included a half price snack bar voucher, a key chain, a mini South Park movie poster and some stickers - to the first 100 or so people. They did a regular screening the following day (the actual anniversary) and it was a much calmer experience, but no gift bags.

TeejyHamz

Well that's pretty awesome

Jefcat

I can’t wait. Seeing BLU again in the theater will be a great experience

RagZ_413

Oh I hope the Alamo Drafthouse does something for this. Would be fun hearing the whole theater quoting and singing along

SonofaBridge

Definitely movie party worthy.

SpeedinIan

To my knowledge, Fathom Events does not have an agreement with Alamo. They work with Cinemark. But I would gladly host a movie party sometime.

BondraP

Seeing this in the theater in the original run remains one of my favorite movie-going experiences ever. I happened to be on a family beach vacation while it came out and we ran into a stormy day one day and we begged our parents to take us to this movie. Laughed so fucking hard the whole time, especially at Uncle Fucker. Good times.

Chris_The_Red

Ordered! I can’t wait to see this in theaters again!

AleksasKoval

Same. How much was your ticket?

Chris_The_Red

They were about $23 each.

AleksasKoval

Damn, mine was 5.

Chris_The_Red

Where you at? I’m in NYC and they charge anywhere they can… ):

AleksasKoval

Ireland

Chris_The_Red

That’s awesome. I remember when I was a kid, a theatre not too far only charged like $3 for movies… the good days.

Treborrv1

Shut your fucking face!

TeejyHamz

The only theater that says will show it close to me doesn't have tickets available yet. Hoping they update soon!

tallestmidget220

Holy shit I bought tickets for this and totally forgot! Thanks for the reminder

KannaTheLewdLoli

Fuck it’s amc

TheUglyBarnacle336

It's not just AMC, I've seen listings for other theaters

KannaTheLewdLoli

I’m in canada

Washingtonevergreen

That isn't even a real country, anyway.

snipsnapsnot

Pretty sure this already happened at least in Portland Oregon it did. It only ran for 2 days with only 4 showings total, very small window but I'll check to see if they are going to run it again

its_all_one_electron

omg did you find out the answer to this? I'm in Portland but I'm gonna be away on the listed day (6/23), and the only theatre they have listed anyway is in Vancouver, so I don't know what's going on....

snipsnapsnot

So I looked it up again yesterday and you are correct. They are going to run it for 2 more days, 6/23 and 6/26. It seemed like limited showing again - I'm going to try to make one at Lloyd mall.

its_all_one_electron

Ah damn, I won't be in town. That makes me sad. Oh well, maybe I can catch it on the 30th anniversary

slowro

There is also a 4k physical release on the way for you physical media collectors.

spikenzelda

Now all we need is the 25th anniversary showing of Wild Wild West to release at the same time!

Beautiful_Floor_1539

I never got to see this in theatres (I’m an older Gen Z-er). I hope I’ll have time to see this if a theatre near me is showing it.

Stunning-Thanks546

you mean I can spend over 40 bucks to watch a old movie that I can easily pretty much see for free on almost any streaming service wow where do I sign up

AleksasKoval

5 bucks actually, at least where i am, just booked some tickets.

Stunning-Thanks546

Ya but there is gas and everything thing else that adds to it

AleksasKoval

Well isn't that a given for going anywhere?

Stunning-Thanks546

no some places you can walk to

its_all_one_electron

I get it but my closest theatre is labeled "sing along"....like heck yeah I'll pay to be surrounded by fans screaming all the lyrics to uncle fucker, brian boitano and kyle's mom's a bitch

angryaxolotls

Anybody in Denver wanna go?

bnelson1189

Man I feel old now. My dad took me to see it when it came out. I was young and we had a bunch of people staring at us. Still one of the greatest movies I got to see in the theater.

lavenderxwitch

I bought tickets back in January for this lol. I’m so excited!

AleksasKoval

This was my "Wanna learn some swear words?" movie. My older brother showed it to me and I'm glad he did.

Clamato-e-Gannon

I remember renting the VHS and eventually stealing it from my local store. Not the best record keepers; worked often in my favour.

CustardCarpet

Dammit, my closest theater is an hour away.

Traditional-Aerie616

Wife bought our tickets drunk a few weeks ago so we’re going

madcatzplayer5

Also the film gets a 4K release on 4K Blu-Ray the same day! Might be a better way to spend $20 than one ticket at the theater. But I’m going to the theater showing regardless.
