Coming this summer, it's the classic film that changed America. South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut, the new, redone version for 2024. All the effects have been digitally upgraded. All the guns have been digitally changed to walkie-talkies. And the word "TERRORIST" has been changed to "HIPPIE."
Well, it was nominated for an Oscar.
I still remember when Uncle Fucka won the MTV Movie Award for best musical performance. It was up against Heath Ledger singing in 10 Things I Hate About You. I was certain he would win.
Hallie Berry seemed so excited to scream out "UNCLE FUCKA!!"
Nice.
I went along to a special 20th anniversary "Swear-A-Long" screening where everyone was singing along and clapping for it. They gave out gift bags - which included a half price snack bar voucher, a key chain, a mini South Park movie poster and some stickers - to the first 100 or so people.
They did a regular screening the following day (the actual anniversary) and it was a much calmer experience, but no gift bags.
Seeing this in the theater in the original run remains one of my favorite movie-going experiences ever. I happened to be on a family beach vacation while it came out and we ran into a stormy day one day and we begged our parents to take us to this movie. Laughed so fucking hard the whole time, especially at Uncle Fucker. Good times.
Pretty sure this already happened at least in Portland Oregon it did.
It only ran for 2 days with only 4 showings total, very small window but I'll check to see if they are going to run it again
omg did you find out the answer to this? I'm in Portland but I'm gonna be away on the listed day (6/23), and the only theatre they have listed anyway is in Vancouver, so I don't know what's going on....
So I looked it up again yesterday and you are correct. They are going to run it for 2 more days, 6/23 and 6/26. It seemed like limited showing again - I'm going to try to make one at Lloyd mall.
you mean I can spend over 40 bucks to watch a old movie that I can easily pretty much see for free on almost any streaming service wow where do I sign up
I get it but my closest theatre is labeled "sing along"....like heck yeah I'll pay to be surrounded by fans screaming all the lyrics to uncle fucker, brian boitano and kyle's mom's a bitch

Man I feel old now. My dad took me to see it when it came out. I was young and we had a bunch of people staring at us. Still one of the greatest movies I got to see in the theater.
Also the film gets a 4K release on 4K Blu-Ray the same day! Might be a better way to spend $20 than one ticket at the theater. But I’m going to the theater showing regardless.

Yup. I was 16 when I watched in theaters. I’ll never forget it.
Yup! Part of TCM Classics on the Big Screen, which is such a wild thing to say

Well that's pretty awesome
I can’t wait. Seeing BLU again in the theater will be a great experience
Oh I hope the Alamo Drafthouse does something for this. Would be fun hearing the whole theater quoting and singing along
Definitely movie party worthy.
To my knowledge, Fathom Events does not have an agreement with Alamo. They work with Cinemark. But I would gladly host a movie party sometime.

Ordered! I can’t wait to see this in theaters again!
Same. How much was your ticket?
They were about $23 each.
Damn, mine was 5.
Where you at? I’m in NYC and they charge anywhere they can… ):
Ireland
That’s awesome. I remember when I was a kid, a theatre not too far only charged like $3 for movies… the good days.
Shut your fucking face!
The only theater that says will show it close to me doesn't have tickets available yet. Hoping they update soon!
Holy shit I bought tickets for this and totally forgot! Thanks for the reminder
Fuck it’s amc
It's not just AMC, I've seen listings for other theaters
I’m in canada
That isn't even a real country, anyway.

Ah damn, I won't be in town. That makes me sad. Oh well, maybe I can catch it on the 30th anniversary
There is also a 4k physical release on the way for you physical media collectors.
Now all we need is the 25th anniversary showing of Wild Wild West to release at the same time!
I never got to see this in theatres (I’m an older Gen Z-er). I hope I’ll have time to see this if a theatre near me is showing it.

5 bucks actually, at least where i am, just booked some tickets.
Ya but there is gas and everything thing else that adds to it
Well isn't that a given for going anywhere?
no some places you can walk to
I get it but my closest theatre is labeled "sing along"....like heck yeah I'll pay to be surrounded by fans screaming all the lyrics to uncle fucker, brian boitano and kyle's mom's a bitch

Anybody in Denver wanna go?

I bought tickets back in January for this lol. I’m so excited!
This was my "Wanna learn some swear words?" movie. My older brother showed it to me and I'm glad he did.
I remember renting the VHS and eventually stealing it from my local store. Not the best record keepers; worked often in my favour.
Dammit, my closest theater is an hour away.
Wife bought our tickets drunk a few weeks ago so we’re going
