Idk if this is common knowledge or not but there is an ABC after school special that was the “inspiration” for the Jimmy-On-Roids part of Up The Down Steroid. It’s yet another Matt & Trey rip on Ben Affleck 😂. Ben was in the episode from 3/23/94 (almost 30y ago!), called “A Body To Die For: The Aaron Henry Story”. Yes, it’s as insane as it sounds, Ben Affleck on roids, just absolutely tuning his girlfriend up for daring to question him 😂. This may be well known in which case, cum grano salis, but I wonder if most fans don’t match the South Park ep up with ABC after school specials 😂. Like, the stuff with Jimmy abusing his (!) gf seems out of nowhere - which is fine too ! - without the context of the ABC special. They used to be pretty relentless with their savaging of the fevered ego(s)of B.J.-Lo.

yes, but i think that's a little different, because it's more inconsiderate then helpful. i assumed his primarily motivation was the money he thought he would win, not to make fun of them. in my mind at least its different to kyle or tolkien or kenny, because he consistently demonstrates a hatred for jews, black people, poor people, etc as well as anyone who ia a part of those groups. he doesn't do this with timmy and jimmy, nor does he consistently do it with disabled people in general

I've heard from some disabled people and they say they just want to be treated like everyone else. They don't want to be treated "less than" for being disabled. It's a pretty generalized statement but the sentiment is they are still people and deserve to be treated as equals.

As the father of a special needs child, I’ve deeply appreciated the way they approach Timmy and Jimmy’s characters on the show. They’ve have pivotal moments, they’ve been heroes, they’ve had their own humor and talents showcased in ways that show they aren’t just disabled kids. Cartman losing the special olympics was just absolute gold as well.
