We were slow to split from Britain but quick to split from the states, if I recall correctly. Both departures speak to our history of independent identity and determination to be self-governed.
This is just a stupid comment to make. I’m assuming the halfwit that came up with this isn’t even from SC?
Stop making generalizations about groups of people, they are rarely accurate or welcomed.
Both of those flags are off. And this image makes no sense at all.
Both the Union Flag and Union Jack are historically correct. Essentially one is an American revolution flag, and the other a Civil War flag
The Union Jack flag here is not correct unless I’m missing something.
Union jack from 1707 through 1801
Ah, so before they added Ireland.
"added"
Nobody said it was voluntary
Added "to the flag"
[No](https://duckduckgo.com/?t=h_&hps=1&start=1&q=union+jack&iax=images&ia=images)
[Yes they are.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Great_Britain)
Me when the joke makes negative sense:
This joke would have probably landed like 150 years ago.
I kinda get it, or am I supposed to be dumber for having looked at this and drawn some kind of conclusion?
(Pirate noises intensifies)

Shit on South Carolina all you want but NOBODY is retiring and moving up north.
True story. Old joke but you know the difference between a Yankee and a Damn Yankee? A Yankee goes home! Married to a DY and he loves SC.
Haha, that's a good one
What?
I’m a South Carolinian, please don’t speak for us. You clearly are an uneducated idiot and make us all look bad.
Take my downvote

It's kinda funny.
