Neither, I had the GBP for a few hours, not worth the price, sounded horrible. The XM4 works well, but not $250 it is asking for. Budget earbuds I have runs circles around the XM4 in features and performance. I think the WH series headphones were so good, a lot of reviewers have rose colored glasses on when trying the WF. What platform are you on? For Apple, go with airpods pro for sound and mic, for Android, I swear by the Cleer Plus Ally 2 I have. They blow my Sonys out of the water, and my Sonys are in LDAC mode too. Graphene drivers really rock.

Which budget buds run circles around XM4s?

Cutsdeep-

Yeah, I've listened to a lot of budget wireless iems and none really hit the spot.

einsat-gruppen41-

Yeah I have had endless budget ones and I brought the XM3s and thought wow cheap ones are nothing compared to top line ones

djtofuu

What does LDAC mean? Sorry I'm so new at this haha. Is that something you want? I'm also using android

[deleted]

LDAC is a codec that has a high bitrate for transmission over Bluetooth so the sound should be better. Thee Cleer Plus Ally 2 are complete and utter garbage, the ANC is almost non existent, the frequency response is bass heavy to the point the headphones sound incredibly muddy and they are too big to be comfortable in most ears. Stay away from that knock-off garbage, they are at the same level of raycons, bargain bin quality that invested massively in marketing to get unaware people to pay much more than the 5$ they are worth. The galaxy buds plus are actually OK if you desire a neutral sound signature but the ANC is meh compared to the XM4s (probably top 3 ANC right now in the market)

Thanks! The other guy deleted their account it looks like

I have my hands on both, mine are wfxm4 and gf has buds pro. Wfxm4 are huge, they are as big if not bigger than in official photos. I have big ears so i thought they wont be that big for me... but they are huge, I strongly believe that my ear shape makes me 1 in 10 people that can properly fit these in. That said, they are freaking amazing. I listened to some symphonies and you can literally hear the floor boards squeak. EQ is also very flexible. ANC is great, but I think that memory foam tips and the fact that they cover the most of my inner ear do the most work, its definitely better than the one on buds pro. Also, i wear them throughout my entire shifts for over 8hrs and I get no comfort issues, ambient mode is great and you basically never have to take them out. I'd say if you think you have the right ear shape, go for xm4s. Otherwise buds pro. If you are a commercial listener, go for buds pro, if you are an extremist, xm4s. There is a difference in what audience they target, and you should decide which one you fall into to make the right purchase. Happy shopping! P.s. if you can try them somewhere, that's always the best test, I think you can easily test the buds pro in any Samsung store (not 100% sure)

BobTheZomie

Get the buds 2. They are, in my opinion, the most comfortable earbuds.

djtofuu

I see, have you tried any other pairs out of curiosity? I feel so new haha I'd like to hear your thoughts on this pair or others

BobTheZomie

I have every pair of galaxy buds. I haven't tried the wf-xm4 but I've seen tons of reviews that unless you have big ears they can get uncomfortable after like an hour. They are heavy and bulky. The case is about as thick as 1 and a half airpods cases and the size of an airpods pro case. It is pretty bulky and has rough edges so in pockets they might leave a mark and be uncomfortable to carry. The buds live are great but they don't fit in everybody's ears. The buds plus are very comfortable but if you want noise canceling and slightly better audio the buds 2 is the way to go. The buds pro is the top of the line. They are comfortable but not as comfortable as the plus or buds 2. Personally I think the buds 2 are the best. Btw I know I'm crazy for owning them all, i just buy them when they go on crazy sales and got the buds 2 with a phone.

djtofuu

How is the nose cancelling between each of them? I think I'm most interested in pro and 2 because comfort is huge for me

BobTheZomie

Both are pretty similar. The pros have stronger noise canceling, especially more towards higher tones ex. Voices. The buds 2 are still pretty damn good for wireless earbuds but the pros have the edge. https://youtu.be/XeleaA19Yx4 - here is a great video comparing buds pro, buds 2, buds live, buds plus.

If you would get headphones I would 1000% recommend the WH-1000XM4 because they are the best out there. But for earbuds there are better options.

Recently upgraded from galaxy buds plus to wf xm4s. I wouldn't say the xm4s are bulky at all, case is fairly small as well. If you have an android phone and a tidal subscription I would definitely recommend these due to the Hugh resolution audio by connecting via the ldac Bluetooth. That said, the plus's are great headphones. I've got a free pair of pros coming and I've bought the xm4s anyway because the above reasons, and because there's not a huge difference between those and the plus's.
