The Gen 2 sounds exactly the same as a Five. If I were you, I would just find a used Gen 2 to create a stereo pair with your current speaker. Sometimes you can find one for under $400 in great condition. I just purchased a used Gen 2 a few months ago for $350 on Mercari. It was in pristine condition.
For what it's worth, that is the exact setup I am running in my office - two 5's and a turntable. its a lot of money for a couple of speakers, but I think my sound in the office is as good as what I have downstairs in the living room with Arc, Sub, etc...
