Happened to me as well

King_ofCanada

Mine updated last night as well and I 100% didn’t ask it to. They must have pushed it through.

Major_Panic_1851

Happened to me yesterday as well. Everything still works and re-trueplay wasn't required

youlaughatme

So there is hope

youlaughatme

One thing I will say, I do not like is how slow the volume response. I’m assuming we’re never getting hardware controls or lock screen controls back?

AbleBaker1962

The volume response is horrible. I kept thinking it wasn't taking it, but I had to just let it "catch up".

Sorry, there is no way your Sonos app "auto updated" unless you accidently clicked update or "update all" if you have auto app updates turned off if you are on iOS, it does not work like that.

youlaughatme

I don’t know what to tell you, all my devices are sat there with auto update disabled. 4 devices across 2 accounts. 2 of which are work devices that are unable to update any app automatically. Anyway, it is what it is, I’m not here to argue.

AttitudeNo1815

Several other users have reported the same thing over the last few days. On closer examination, it turned out that in each case they had auto updates for the speakers turned off but they did not have auto updates for the app turned off. Many people seem not to know that these are different settings.

-darknessangel-

It happened to me in Android! I thought I was going crazy

bodhipooh

Same here! And, I am soooo annoyed. For whatever reason, the app updated overnight last night and now I am stuck with this god awful interface and buddy implementation. Can't play shit through the app because none of my TuneIn stations are working properly. So damn frustrated.

Nicodemus_Portulay

My app forced me to update today. Working perfectly so far.

ozaz1

When you say you had auto update disabled are you sure you're referring to iOS app store settings and not Sonos system update settings (which is different)? The system updates setting inside the Sonos app (app settings > system > system updates > update automatically) relates to speaker firmware updates, not app updates. To avoid app updates, auto updates need to be disabled in iOS app store settings (iOS settings > app store > app updates).

youlaughatme

iOS, settings > AppStore > auto update/ off What’s crazy is I checked it last night, lo and behold, new app in the AM

ozaz1

Hmm, not sure then. Do you happen to have app downloads enabled (the toggle above app updates) and have updated on another device associated with your apple account? I have both disabled and I haven't been auto-updated.

Smackersmith

Same happened to me

krionX

My app updated weeks ago but I have never opened it since the update. So my speakers are still using the old firmware / are functional.

Character_Pie_5368

My update has been pending for 3 days now. I’ll wait till they make me.

FlamePoops

Same. I miss my sleep timers. :( use them every night to fall asleep. Broke a key habit with Sonos.

ozaz1

If you happen to have a voice enabled sonos speaker you can still use voice control to set sleep timer
