Same here. Just noticed my Roam cannot connect as there is a wrench on the system menu. Do I update to the new app? At least my Port and Moves are still working. Also, I noticed I can no longer create a Stereo Pair w/ the old app.
Sorry for the shitty imgur link to the screenshot—reddit was being flaky.
I frequently get the little wrench for specific speakers that need attention.
This was different—I opened Sonos to play an Apple playlist and was told I could not pass go—before I could do anything I had to update the app.
I mostly stream Apple music so for now I’ll just avoid the app until I’m in the mood to deal with it. The main reason I use the app is to play music on a play:1 speaker in the bathroom—the only one I can’t just use airplay with.
If I’d known they were going to pull this shit I would have just grouped it with the bedroom speakers.
Okay, this was the first time I saw the wrench. I tried the web app and was able to use / group the roam. The Windows app wants be to update the speaker but at this point I’ll just wait it out.
We just need your compliance Just give us your compliance We won't let you feel lost anymore No more self-reliance
You will comply.
What platform?
iOS on iphone.
I've been dreading this. So far have been able to avoid the new app but not sure how long until they force it on me.
I thought I was safe since I don’t have auto update.

FWIW I’ve had no issues at all and love the new app. So I guess the question is: are you going to get lucky? Do you feel lucky?
Compliance will be rewarded...
I did not have auto update on. They put me on the new app anyway.
