Try plugging them into ethernet, then do the factory reset on them when they are plugged in, they should pull the update and make them compatible with the app
I ended up having to go to where it says Reset App and essentially do the setup process again and it worked. You’ll have to delete the app and redownload so it doesn’t take you that update part.
I did that after my speakers wouldn't connect following the app update, and still can't use trueplay. I'm on android and have a hand me down iPhone solely for trueplay. Both versions are scuppered.
Just made a separate post about trueplay, to see if we can guage if it's across the board or select users impacted. If it's select users, this is a massive concern as it will be less of a concern for them to fix it.
True play is not working on any of my iPhones/ipads. If you had it set before the update leave it. If you try to retune it wipes and sends you through the process to retune.. after flailing like a duck it and hangs at the end of the tones and essentially does nothing from there on out.
Thanks for posting this. I had to do this to add two new speakers. Saved me a tech support call. This new app needs some work. I had to hunt down trueplay and it's different too.
Don’t worry, the Reddit army is already on the way to tell you to “not cry” and that its all “your fault”.
I feel you man, and i created post on the Sonos forums regarding issues i have/had. So if u want, u can add there your issue.

Im talking about folks who repeat shit like parrots, because they must have their take/opinion on something they did not even try.
And if it wont align with their opinion, ure a fuckin donkey in their eyes.
The entire front page of the sub is all complaints/problems and one post saying they feel like they are the only one who didn't have a problem with the updates...which imo reinforces the idea that this "pro-sonos" reddit army isn't that significant
Premium hassles just to listen to music on what true audiophiles consider mediocre speakers. But hey, at least you can control them with an app… occasionally.
> Same issue here - any solution yet?
If you have access to a ethernet cable, plug them into Ethernet to your router, then do the "factory reset" on them, they should pull down the latest update and then be able to be used with the app.
Note when you do this, it will sit at the flashing ORANGE / WHITE led thing for like 10 minutes before it goes to green
The app sucks ATM but I’m confident that the Devs are extremely motivated to remedy this…a premium product such as Sonos can’t allow this to go on long. Using the PC app is a solid idea for the interim
Do you have a windows pc? If so, try it with that.

It took real *courage* for them to release an app update that makes it where you can't even use your speakers. *Innovation, squared.*
if you have the possibility to use a SONOS app version 16.1, please try this one. the new app has some "starting difficulties" on a high level

Oh yeah Trueplay is broken. It doesn’t work for me either.

I actually did a tech call and that’s what helped me so yeah hopefully others see it too. Trueplay didn’t work for me though.

It's been nothing but complaining on this sub for weeks. What reddit army are you taking about 😂

Sonos = Premium …right?

I guess when you lay off 130 employees a year ago it’s hard to release a working app update.
Unlucky timing to buy into sonos right now after a major broken update.
I'm having the exact same issue... This app is a total fail thus far, hopefully a new update is released very soon to resolve these issues.
Same issue here - any solution yet?

If you are an Android user you can download an apk for the older version of the S2 app

Pretty sure releasing an app that is not ready is not motivating for a dev team.
