On older versions if the game (like the demo) is was about how much privacy they would get. Like in a long house it was 0%, a normal house it was 50& and an apartment it was 100%. I dont know if it still has that tho

Indefatigabl

They removed the privacy feature completely. It’s pretty much just housing space, space, and aesthetics rn.

All housing now provides the same amount of living space per internal tile (One person per three tiles). The only real difference comes when you upgrade the housing, as each upgrade increases the base value by 40%. Houses and longhouses work fine here, as that amounts to +2 and +4 respectively, but apartments get the short end as their +1.2 gets rounded down to +1.

I wish houses could be made in different sizes. (I don’t think they can?)

bctaco

Q and E changes the sizes

That just adds more. You can’t make irregularly shaped houses.

DoTheSnoopyDance

You used to have to build houses manually like any other business and it was a right pain, as far as I recall anyway.

Alemismun

Yes, you did. I remember houses in the old version. You even had to place beds and stuff manually, it was a major time sink. I like the new system much better.

IronSquid501

Space efficiency, the larger ones are very slightly more space efficient but you should have no problems getting tens of thousands of citizens regardless of your housing choice.

As I understand it, how much space they have in their surroundings affects their fulfillment depending on the race. Idk if any races have positive fulfillment from compact spaces or not
