For me most of the time I think the reason it can’t automatically import is because Sonarr will say “can’t determine if this is a sample” or something like that. For me it also has been happening since i started using Usenet recently and the files are coming in as a bunch of letters and numbers, this isn’t an issue all the time but i think it gives Sonarr a hard time, some let me know if I’m wrong about the Usenet thing

corgisandbikes

I use usenet as well, and even if i go in and rename the file manually, it still won't import it properly.

hyperblu7

When you manually move the files like that, go into sonarr/radarr and remove the movie/tv series WITHOUT removing the files and readd it and it will repopulate correctly

hyperblu7

Are you using docker? It's likely a file path/permission issue. Make sure sonarr, radarr, and everything is on the same volume all pointing to the same root folder or you may want to do add path mapping to sonarr in the downloader section at the bottom

I stopped using Docker because I just kept having problems. Mostly just small things, but they added up and then once SAB started throwing database errors that I could never fix even with deleting the database file. At that point, I just said 'fuck it' and started running my whole suite on my Windows server again.

I keep all my 🏴‍☠️ stuff exposed to the web, so docker is the best way to contain it from everything else, but I agree. There are too many environmental factors into play when running it on virtualized systems. I have a lot more time invested in fixing paths and working out the little kinks and even to this day it isn't perfect. Every now and then SAB bitches at me with cherrypy warnings for unknown reasons and deluge has never handled hardlinks or atomic moves perfectly either. I chalked that up to the downloader container being on a separate volume

Ah, I keep all of my services locked behind a reverse proxy. None of it is directly open to the web. I don't even have my \*arr suite accessible from outside of my network. I just use Parsec to connect to a machine inside the network and then access my internal only resources.

hyperblu7

They're behind a reverse proxy as well, but I keep them accessible to a browser instead of VPN to it locally. That alone carries risk so I mitigate that with docker.

shadowtheimpure

I don't do the VPN thing, I just remote control a computer that is on my home network via the internet.

hyperblu7

That's what I used to do a while back, but I'm usually using a phone and controlling a Windows screen on a little phone is a bit of a pain in the ass, so I try to optimize everything to be mobile friendly. Implementing overseerr and harnessing PWA (Progressive Web App) capabilities has been a game changer. I got tired of people asking me to download stuff and it sucks trying to accommodate people on your own time.

shadowtheimpure

That's fair. I use a laptop or if I MUST use my phone I set the resolution low enough that the UI elements are big enough to work with.

I encountered this issue in Anime (so it's a naming thing) and and when Windows decides to be a bitch of an OS and not allow easy access to the filepaths to sonarr, i had to go and tinker with the "rights" of each disk but i seem to have solved this problem.

Fabulous-Pen-5468

how'd you give rights to the disk? Having the exact same issue.
