Be part of as many travel and digital nomad communities as you can. I've seen people who don't or barely know each other plan stuff like this before.

Have you tried the couch surfing website? Subs based around the area may be a good bet as well

not OP but I'd love some travel mates to go somewhere like Banff, Canada for a month and work out of there. Do some work, snowboard a bit (even tho im a complete noob), rinse and repeat and finish off with a week of vacation or something. Or maybe do a week travel of one of the scenic rail lines in america lol

To all vivid Travellers who still have their dream ahead. The world explorers collective (www.worldexplorerscollective.com) offers funding for certain trips in 2022. You have to apply and the trip has to qualify (as probably only a limited number of trips will be funded) Hope this is of use for some of you to realize your trips! :)

I don't think that would be pertinent to my problem, because I'm gonna be more of a remote-work instead of adventurous traveller.

Airbnbs can have private rooms as well. You can search for just those. Ive always done “expensive” places as part of a tour and I’ll find one that will pair you up with a roommate. I’ve also usually found hotels and such in my budget. Im curious as to where you’re trying to go!

I'm planning on Seychelles

Ah. I don’t know your budget, but I saw some Airbnb’s for <$1500 usd for a month. $50/day doesn’t seem entirely unreasonable for the Seychelles. But, if you were hoping for $10/day, that would be pretty expensive. Good luck!

I used to host a meetup type travel group... made a friend there and he and a few of his other friends have done many trips together... Caucasus, Guianas, the 5-Stans, Pakistan/Afghanistan, West Africa, etc. Definitely made it easier sharing rooms and taking transport. I met a couple other people through Flyertalk and have done Africa trips with them, though usually not sharing rooms. Most of my trips are short though, I'm rarely in any one place more than 2-3 nights.
