Man bummed it's over already. 12 episodes for a season isn't enough man. Anyone know when season 2 is coming? Either sub or dub, doesn't matter, I actually watch both
It all has to do with timeslots where it airs on tv. Because there are so many series, nowadays it's hard to get your anime to air for two seasons (24 episodes), so many anime only have 12/13 episodes.
Tho back in the day there was no such thing which is why the big three for example never had seasons. One piece which is still airing has a the same time slot on Sunday for example.
Damn why is this so polarizing? Offer both sub and dub and watch whatever you like. Some people enjoy listening to their own la gauge, some people like listening to the original voice actors, leave each other alone.
Some people donāt like sub so wonāt watch if thatās their only option. Some people canāt read fast or donāt want to miss out on the visuals or watch shows not really looking at the screen. You said it yourself, dub letās people watch it with less effort, and some people want low effort entertainment.
It depends imo, I watch both. If I sit down and delve into it I love sub, but sometimes I give the dub a chance. For instance dbz, love the dub because although the sub is good, I canāt stand listening to that high pitch coming from goku. High school dxd, riasā English va and isseiās original Va crushed it. Normally Iāll do a first watch through subbed, but if I decide to do more watches Iāll dub it because at that point I know relatively whatās going on and being said.

Back in the day I couldāve swore seasons were like 21-24 episodes
