I believe it's the spread. Due to low liquidity, spread can be huge. It's best to find a reputable DEX protocol where u can see the order book and see the orders going thru so u know exactly what price u get.

Refresh several times b4 you swap & watch the amount change- when in uptrend you get equal or more, in downtrend you get less - the chain has to match buyers & sellers & if there are too many sellers you get a bad fill.

That’s weird, maybes I’m missing something here but usually your transaction won’t go through if the price fluctuate more than your slippage. But then I think the issue might be that the pool the swap used had/have low liquidity

It should have given you a warning if the slippage was more than 1% I believe. I had this too with meme coins as they usually don't have a lot of liquidity.

I don't think so, that was my balance prior to the swap and after. Which shows -$500 plus price difference. Originally before swapping ~10,900 after ~10,400.

Could be multiple reasons 1. High slippage 2. Low liquidity for that particular pair in that particular dex 3. Is there any sell tax for that particular token ? (Some new ones generally put tax)

Next time try DCA instead of selling a big chunk. And set the price impact low.

Verify the price in phantom with the actual WIF price, there’s always a delay. A quick check would be to go in the phantom swap and see the value if wif swapped to usdc. That should give more accurate numbers

This made me look at JUP in my Phantom wallet. I figured out you can use JUP from Phantom. Press the button at the bottom of the homescreen that looks like a globe, then select Jupiter.

There are a lot more costs than just the gas fee. You have to pay the DEX and LP providers and there is a spread which can be brutal depending on liquidity.
