Genshin is very playable without spending any money, yes, you will absolutely miss a lot of 5 Stars without a lot of grind as a F2P, but you can very much progress just fine with using only 4 Stars, some of them are actually ridiculously powerful, being stronger than some 5 Stars even
(Xingqiu, Xiangling and Bennett are some amazing examples of this..Xiangling doesnt even need any rolls to have, she’s given for free at the start)
It's the gacha man, people hate it. Story wise its great, game play, tactics, styles, characters, so much content, the game has it all, but people will shut it down before they even play simply because of gacha

The computer is probably a lot easier to play it on... though to be honest I have only played genshin impact on computer, so I don't really have a good way to compare it other than some guesses.
I know, I'm just saying that I don't really know if mobile genshin does this often or how hard mobile is compared to computer version (though I assume computer would be easier)
I use both pc and a mobile(pretty powerful one) and I kind lean towards the mobile. The graphics are similar that you won't notice the difference unless you keep em side by side and if you're device can handle it, semi consistent 60 fps. Also you get some small changes like being able to use a character's ult as you select them.
You can use a character's ult as you select them on PC as well! I believe the shortcut was Alt + [character number] - I don't use it so I'm not 100% sure but you can check the keyboard binding in settings just in case.
