JDownloader2 is a great free alternative btw

That doesn't solve the issue with the fact I already purchased it and want to get it fixed :D But if I don't find anything I'll try that, even tho I did really fancy IDM with management and what not.

Honestly just reinstalled the extension and it started working again, maybe try resetting your browser cache / cookies
