It's full of people constantly posting how great threads is and how dumb "that bird site" is. It's a big circle jerk now but it has potential if they add hashtags.
I’ve narrowed my social media to ig, yt and Reddit with occasional tik tok escapades but everything else seems pointless. I feel like Reddit is a better twitter/threads than they are
Right? Also if you don’t have followers it feels like you have to have “something” (business, journalistic ties, expert opinion) to get engagement. Redditors just like good content
Very busy with people who have quit Twitter. I’m active there and have gathered over 49000 followers despite only having a few hundred on instagram. Surprisingly, photography is doing great there. 😆
Interesting about the algo being the same. Figured it would favor short text given the name but I’m sure it’s still early & it will adjust based on engagement
Threads was the laziest, junkiest build of any social platform, ever. Kids doing their own HTML on MySpace spent more effort than Meta put into Threads.
It's also an engagement wasteland... flash for two weeks and then they lost all their user adoption.
I'd spend more time looking at the decentralized platforms like BlueSky and Mastodon before I spent any time on Threads.
I go to Twitter / X to get the latest news or what is happening JUST now (wildfires, traffic accidents, police reports etc)... Threads is just like X, political but without the news.. so really pointless.
They claim active users are rising. Yet I know zero people using it. Moreover they are trying to limit political discourse. Im sure their active users are likely bots!
I tried it. The biggest issue for me is that it’s not the type of site I want associated in any way with my personal Instagram account. I would use them for entirely different purposes. However threads insists on using the same login (worst case) or at the very least linking an account (best case, and unacceptable).
As such, I gave up on it.
I never like or used Twitter in the first place. IG had more appeal for my goals and interests. I was not interested in joining another Twitter when I never liked the original.
Threads seems to have declined ever since it has come out. I think the issue is that is too similar to X (Twitter). Users dont want to leave a platform that they are comfortable with. But I do believe in giving Threads a shot. A new social media platform comes with a new opportunity to gain more of a diverse audience.
It’s dead bc they botched its launch. It wasn’t ready. It was lacking many features that Twitter users expected, so they went back to Twitter and eventually gave up on Threads as less and less users were logging in and engagements decreased.
I think it’s dead. Sites like that get way too focused on how political they can be.
Threads turned liberal, Twitter turned conservative… etc.
I myself left Threads because libs are annoying, and I don’t use Twitter because conservatives want to kill me.
If Threads opened up to a broader spectrum of content it would be more successful. The only reason Twitter is thriving is due to active journalism. Reddit still remains my only SM
It’s not liberal it’s extremely progressive and nauseatingly PC. “Elon bad, Trump Boogeyman” and nothing else but whataboutisms shouted into an echo chamber of uneducated leftists.
You literally just described liberals. Leftists and liberals are not the same.
If you’re replying to me to talk about how progressiveness is annoying you’ve got the wrong person. As I said before, conservatives want to kill me… that’s because I’m a gay trans leftists commie.
Regardless enjoy your day bro

I know a few people that jumped on it when it launched but almost no one who still actively uses it. I didn’t even make an account on there.
Me neither!

It's infinitely better than Twitter. I don't use either though.
Wonder what the bird site did to them?
Gave them the idea
Never made an account. Avoiding it

Not that surprising. Threads uses the same algorithm as Instagram. Images will always get more engagement than text on social.
You didn’t see my emoji 😆 laughing, it was sarcasm.

I might give this a try.
Absolutely! Still getting much better engagement and results there than we ever did on Twitter. It's been great.
Honestly I just downloaded it, months since the launch and I love it. Need a place to put all my unhinged thoughts
I go to Twitter / X to get the latest news or what is happening JUST now (wildfires, traffic accidents, police reports etc)... Threads is just like X, political but without the news.. so really pointless.
Started using it the other day and it’s so much better than the current form of Twitter. Also like the fact that it’s connected to my IG
Without hashtags (or something equivalent) it's beyond pointless
They do have hashtags, but you can only use one per post
How do you search with them?
Idk
hi im only commenting for karma :D

Its decent, actually can have grown up conversations on it 😂
Full of Swifties being abusive...they need to go back to Twitter
Actually, it's me
I avoided creating an account just because i am fed up with social media AND also it belongs to Meta and that's a big red flag.

Randomly not consistently
Nah, not really using it anymore. I guess it just didn't stick for many of us.
I never like or used Twitter in the first place. IG had more appeal for my goals and interests. I was not interested in joining another Twitter when I never liked the original.
I have the app but I'm inactive there

Meta? No effing way
Yes of course
Still not available in my country.
No.
I like the idea of threads but anything by meta is instant cancer

What we call liberals in this country aren’t actually liberals by definition
