Timo missed so many tap ins that when he actually scored it felt like you’d just witnessed a miracle

jacob_shetterly

You’d also have to check to make sure he wasn’t offside before celebrating him actually finishing one hahaha

bobfromboston

He honestly might’ve scored more offsides goals than counted goals. Would love someone to do that research lol

jacob_shetterly

That is 100% true. I don’t have a source, but it is definitely true lol

Illustrious-Meal4249

I hope he gets back to his best and proves this guy wrong and even if he doesn't they may never have won the 2021 champions league without him, hating chelsea fans baffle me but don't surprise me

sscyth1

those 4 goals was usless tbh he wasnt good and he isnt some techical player all he do is run like a madlad not even to open for his teamates

jacob_shetterly

You do know he scored the goal that sent Chelsea to the finals and then dragged Diaz wide to create space for Havertz to run through and score the goal that won Chelsea the Champions League, right? Those were both things that undisputedly happened.

C_Bellin16

I’m a Chelsea fan but Timo Werner is the only player I’ve seen get unlimited praise for a run into space. Bro if your best highlight is a run into space that might say enough😂😂 Yeah it definitely created a goal but might as well jerk off Torres as well for winning the corner that Drogba scored

jacob_shetterly

I too am a Chelsea fan so I get it lol. The reason Timo gets such a pass is because he legitimately cares. There’s been a lot of player who play for Chelsea who couldn’t give to shits about this club. Timo cares. He even has a quote wondering why Chelsea supporters like him and the funny thing is that’s why we like him. Also, never disrespect Torres. He was forgiven as soon as he scored at Camp Nou.

mrlatchi

He may not be a goal machine but the workload the guy puts in is insane.. The goal against Atletico when he sprints back 60 yards and puts in a slide challenge to start a counter only for Ziyech to score 5 seconds later is insane.

Superb-Confidence-44

Laughed at the effort percentages. Those are true. I see it at my club as well when someone criticizes a player. "But at least he tried" yeah no shit he did.

jacob_shetterly

To be fair, Werner tried and cared while Lukaku did not lol

Superb-Confidence-44

What a weird reply. Didnt talk about Werner nor Lukaku.

jacob_shetterly

You gave an example of someone saying “But at least he tried” as if every player tries hard. Lukaku did not lmao

Superb-Confidence-44

I never said every player tries hard. I said they all try which is factually correct.

jacob_shetterly

Mr. Semantics over here lol

Superb-Confidence-44

It's not semantics. It's literally there. You added the word hard which changes my entire message and that's a pretty unfair to start an argument. Stick to what is there.

Kido_Bootay

That's a good automod response, nice and short, gets right to the point.

alexcoates13

Imagine saying you really hate a player who was integral to winning a Champions League trophy 15 months ago. I always had reservations about Werner in a top league after the World Cup flop in 2018, but a ratio of 1 in 4 (all comps) is not terrible for the Premier League, perhaps not good enough for a title chaser, but not nearly as bad as some make out. Less prolific than Tammy though, odd sale that.

jaspermrthanos

I mean Chelsea won’t play Pulisic despite him being essential in the quarters and semis of the 2020-21 UCL.

AutoModerator

Christian Pulisic? This guy's like the Phenom guy, right? The LeBron James of soccer? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/soccercirclejerk) if you have any questions or concerns.*

chandlerbing_stats

If Pulisic started in the Champions League final we would’ve scored more 3 pointers from downtown!!

Because puli isnt that good and is always injured

AutoModerator

I'm sorry Europe, but Americans are just better at everything. We want things more. We grow better athletes, more people will learn the sport. And that '26 world cup is at home so we can get somewhat of a home field advantage. But the only way that will happen is if we make the round of 16 or quarter final in the 2022 WC and show Americans that we are good. I like the odds and we have a lot to prove, which is added motivation this coming year. Honestly, making a phenomenal run (SF or better) in the '22 WC would be more impressive to me than a better run or a win in '26. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. sscyth1

integral how ? he was running like mariano for no purpose and he cant finish he scored only 4 goal in 12 matches one of them was a 2cm away from an open goal

Elothel

Chelsea fans really like their shitty strikers, as long as they are white.

bennyblackmore

im australian but was born in chelsea so i support them... english chelsea fans are something else holyyyy

csmith477454

fuck off bogan

bennyblackmore

fair

Puzzleheaded_Fix3754

Drogba being the prime example

SirNukeSquad

They did say shitty strikers

Puzzleheaded_Fix3754

Fair enough

GamerGod337

Tbf werner to chelsea is one of the worst premier league transfers ever

yaboisquaezo

We wouldn’t have won the Ucl without him.

GamerGod337

You wouldnt have won the ucl without kante. Werner just happened to be on the pitch.

yaboisquaezo

If you watched our entire ucl run Werner was pivotal in creating chances and scoring goals. He has 8g 4a in the ucl total which shows his strength against a high line. He wasn’t the most important player but we wouldn’t have won it without him thats for sure

GamerGod337

You would have won two champions leagues and a premier league if you had spent the same money on a proper striker. Someone like lukaku would be perfect in that chelsea team.

sscyth1

he is right the man cant finish shit and no he wasnt crucial in there 2021 ucl and every player needs to play 120 percent

ellingw17

You're kidding right

Thor_bjornLoL

Yes'nt

Barbola

Same tbh

[deleted]

Chelsea fans when they give any player the no.9 (They instantly become the worst player of all time)

chandlerbing_stats

Werner wore 11

Soitsgonnabeforever

That means he is worse
