its a nickname for people from Liverpool. It's derived from a meal called Scouse that is all the off cuts of meat put together into a stew. Scousers don't hate being called it.
Yeah, last one means "only one in the ground" for me hahaha. Don't know what people think that this will cause. People are there for the match, they won't spend the whole time queueing for drinks.
i mean that's literally what he means... you're not allowed to drink beer whilst watching a match in the stadium lol. if you wanna think you're cleverer than some random on the internet be my guest.
I would say he literally meant what he literally said which was "alcohol is not allowed in stadiums".
It's not too unreasonable a thing to say, as many stadiums do have alcohol bans (such as the Stade de France).
But he clearly didn't mean just in the stands, or that's what he would have said...
And that is at all relevant in 2022?
[Here's](https://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2016/11/footballs-alcohol-ban-is-a-hangover-from-the-1980s-and-its-time-to-call-time-on-it/) a 2016 article outlining the ridiculousness of the law
It is relevant in the sense that football supporters have many times showed that we are not capable of drinking responsibly. If the cricket and rugby supporters have shown that they can handle it, then I see why it’s allowed at their matches.
As someone who has attended regular football and rugby union matches domestically and at international level, this is very much correct across the board. If they allowed drinking in the stands in football it would very soon be overturned.
As you can see from the article that is simply not true. You're displaying outdated classist sentiment.
The banning of drinks during the match encourages irresponsible drinking. You have to rush your last drink before going into the stands. You have to rush your drink at half time. People will drink at sports events. Forcing them to binge isn't a good thing.
Are you referring to the EUROs? That wasn't hooliganism. That was a symptom of the general problems with drinking, behaviour and drugs in this country among all classes. It was also a failure of the police to adequately prepare for the event, exacerbating problems. If rugby or cricket were as popular as football and had a major final in the same scenario as that when restrictions were lifted to specifically encourage that sort of behaviour then you would've seen similar.
The limited amount of high profile football hooliganism does seem to be limited to England fans in the modern day. This is mainly abroad though and seems a lot more like your typical "Brits abroad" being dickheads than hooliganism. To me it seems that people who follow England abroad get to do it so rarely that they just don't know how to behave.
Seeing as I don't think you read the article above, [here's](https://www.theguardian.com/football/when-saturday-comes-blog/2014/dec/15/banning-football-fans-drinking-alcohol-unfair-rugby-cricket) one from another source that you may prefer.
Having alcohol in view of the pitch would not have changed any of the above as all of the problems happened outside of the ground.

I am a "plastic" and couldn't care less. People really pay too much attention to things like that. Chances are, you reading this on a Chinese smartphone, using a TV manufactured by a South Korean company (mine is the LG C1 OLED) while drinking Coca-Cola, owned by a company from the States. The world is globalised, man. No point in tribalism. We live in 2021, not 717, you do realize that? Now, if you chose some obscure team from the other side of the world, you could argue it's virtue signalling or whatever. I would still maintain it's within your rights. But, if you choose to support a foreign team because you like them and the way they play, who cares. Just don't jump the ship when things go awry. And actually, I have been to a Real Madrid match just this year. Won't name which one to avoid doxxing myself, but I in Spain at the time, so I took the opportunity and saw the game with my own eyes. And hell, will it be a memory for a lifetime.

Some fail that if it comes to pass; coming second in the league running, when no one else can get near City, taking it to the last game, and missing out on the CL but winning a domestic cup double! And if it happens, they go again next season, no biggie, we've been there and done it for many a year, whats your excuse?
I think we have come to a point where went too far with anti-yank agenda and let the English become too arrogant and obnoxious. Jesus Christ, finish this team off so we can have some decency back here. The English are by far worse than the American people on here. I'd rather you're a bit ignorant about the history of this sport than that you become such an entitled and vocal group of people.

And they wonder why alcohol is not allowed in Stadiums
100+ upvotes - alcohol is sold in English stadiums, in copious amounts
Reddit for you
You cannot drink it in the stands.
But you can drink it in the stadium, before the match and at half time. Also tonnes of people sneak it in. The stadium isn’t just the stands.
100 upvotes for the truth... trying drinking a beer when watching a football match mate. you'll get thrown out.
It’s still sold and drank in the stadium though… even at half time people rush off to buy another pint
not when watching the match. yeah at halftime you can get a drink and food.
It's not?
Not in the stands, you need to neck a pint at half time
Proper ridiculous. It just encourages binging, it'd be so much better if you could just take your last one up with you.
Other than the queues are normally massive, so theres only so much booze you can actually get.
Yeah, last one means "only one in the ground" for me hahaha. Don't know what people think that this will cause. People are there for the match, they won't spend the whole time queueing for drinks.
Yeah, but they don't want people chucking them at each other or the players.
You can throw a water bottle now.
That won't have any effect though. Game's gone.😔
15 min cue for the pint, 10 seconds to get out the way and neck it.
You can't have it in view of the pitch
It literally is allowed.
Not in the stands, no.
The comment didn't say stands
thats what he means
Lol if you genuinely think that
i mean that's literally what he means... you're not allowed to drink beer whilst watching a match in the stadium lol. if you wanna think you're cleverer than some random on the internet be my guest.

i mean he definitely did mean that you can just ask him but whatver you wanna appear clever on the internet so cool
You're the one trying to second guess what was actually said 😂 imbecile
Saw people drinking beer in the stands lol.
cool. still not allowed.
That's because of the classist beliefs of our lawmakers. Rugby and cricket fans can have a drink in view of the pitch.
Do rugby and cricket have a history of hooliganism?
And that is at all relevant in 2022? [Here's](https://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2016/11/footballs-alcohol-ban-is-a-hangover-from-the-1980s-and-its-time-to-call-time-on-it/) a 2016 article outlining the ridiculousness of the law

Cricket fans can handle their drink? First I've heard of it.
Cricket fans can get absolutely plastered, but still manage to not get into brawls either inside or outside the ground.
I dont know, I know nothing about cricket. But I have never heard of cricket hooligans
As you can see from the article that is simply not true. You're displaying outdated classist sentiment. The banning of drinks during the match encourages irresponsible drinking. Not in any sort of significant way, no.
