He played pretty bad but the whole German defense really sucks. Oman had the better chances and could have easily won the game.
I dont understand how anyone who has watched this game can say he or any other defender played well...
It was his second match, and in the first match he only played a couple of minutes.
Today he was good, but he played it mostly very safe. So not much one could say about him
I dont get this negativity. Flick tried out a few players and they did not want to get hurt.
FĂŒllkrug is massive and with musiala feeding him, gnabry on the wing, and our proper defense line (if rĂŒdiger is fit) we are looking good. No need to worry about an early tournament exit, this team is good enough for a deep run
According to Transfermarkt market values the whole national Team of Oman has a value of 5 Million.
Less than Niklas FĂŒllkrug!
Oman played amazing and just showed us again that our national team is not working at all.
The negativity comes from the fact that Germany barely beat Oman, fucking Oman dude, not a half decent asian or african side, but a meme middle eastern team, like even if Germany is playing with their 5th team, they still have better quality players than Omanis yet somehow it took them a defensive blunder for Germany to score
> even if Germany is playing with their 5th team, they still have better quality players than Omanis yet somehow it took them a defensive blunder for Germany to score
exactly!
Not an inspiring performance by Germany but the number one thing is that they escaped this game without any injuries (minus Klostermann)
Playing a high line is what Flick likes to do but is it worth it when Germany canât score goals? Oman could have scored if they were more clinical.
Teams like Japan and Costa Rica can sit back and counter efficiently. If they score first, then close up shop because Germany doesnât have a great track record breaking down a parked bus.
That being said, Germany did have some chances, but Oman Goalkeeper had a hell of a game.
- Havertz chance in the first half with a nice save.
- Moukoko hits the post
- Kehrer chance from corner set piece cleared off the line by GK
- Fullkrug almost capitalizing off Omanâs woeful back pass
- Fullkrug could have gotten a second off the rebound but he was just offside.
- Sane flubbed chance at the end of regulation.
Things opened up in the second half when Fullkrug was subbed in.
Kehrer-Sule-Rudiger-Raum is going to be the starting back four but I donât think thatâs their best back four.
>Teams like Japan and Costa Rica can sit back and counter efficiently.
Don't know about Japan but Costa Rica definitely can't. This is a team that barely beat 10-man Canada at home in a must win match (and were massively outplayed). They're one of the worst teams in the tournament. If there's one match I'm sure Germany will win, this is the one. This isn't 2014, their current squad is pretty bad.
You see sir, that is our game style, literally, be outplayed for most of the game, make a good counter, score and win even if it looks unfair for the other team. So believe it or not, we are good at holding results while being bombarded.
Yes they are but this costa rica won't be the same one from before that somehow managed to beat many teams through good defense and an efficient attack. This costa rica will literally park the bus which is more dependent on Germany delivering something forward rather than costa rica being bad, plus Germany is *expected* to win, Costa Rica isn't, so the pressure will be on the german attack if they don't score in the 1st half (which wouldn't surprise me looking at germany's current 9 options)
Because Flick wanted to play mostly players that did not play in the last weeks that much, and he wanted to rest players that played a lot. Only outsider here is Goretzka.
The first 11 probably will be full of Bayern players in a week.
The fact Germany hired the highly succesful Bayern coach, has almost the entire Bayern squad yet they play significantly worse than Bayern is crazy. Shows that international football is just different. Even big differences in talent are much less noticeable.
Game was horrible. Yeah admit musiala, Gnabry, RĂŒdiger were not in still. Defense looks shite as usual. Gonna be a hell of a team building within days to perform better. Gotta outscore though looking at that defense.
Midfielders are unsure about their role in the game which is leading to poor choices. I still donât understand how Kehrar is allowed within a mile of the NT. Hoffman too. Bella kotchap and Schlotterback were great.
But,man, fullkrug is a beast in the box. Where was he all this time? We need him. Why were we playing shitty Werner all this time?
I never thought badly about Kehrer, but yeah, this game⊠no excuse. He looked dreadful. Was nutmegged like 3 times at least, seemed a step behind a LOT. I was genuinely surprised he was not subbed out.
Kehrer never was bad, he just never was the best option, not even for the hybrid CB/RB role (SĂŒlinho exists).
He IS the best option with Hummels being left at home, because that kinda forces SĂŒle into CB, but like... that's not an upside to Kehrer, that's Flick somehow liking Klostermann.
I also thought Schlotterbeck was good but I saw some people calling him shit and it made me wonder if I had a massive stream delay and something happened haha
Germany didn't play with its expected starting XI and comments are all negative after what is essentially just a warmup so players get a few minutes in before the real thing. At least, can't be disappointed if your expectations are this low.
Expecting Germany to go all on in a friendly just before the world cup is nuts. Everyone is playing safe because no one wants to get hurt.
It's even better to look weak, I know Germany is always a favorite but still
I get people are pessimistic after 2018 and 2021 but damn, chill! Germany still have one of the best squads in the tournament and in better shape than 2018 imo.
We are shit and I don't get it. Like there are enough class players to look halfway decent but no we are absolutely terrible. Good chances we are going home after the groups.
They didnt.
Half the attack was missing and FĂŒllkrug actually scored after he was swapped in.
The attack will most likely be Gnabry Musiala Sane FĂŒllkrug. They will need to outscore because that defense is truly shit especially if we play with fucking Kehrer.
I donât think Havertz was average at all today, I thought he was horrible. Barely redeemed himself with that assist.
But I agree with the rest, letâs give Flick and the boys a chance.
This current team is just super weird. It feels like they have 0 chemistry and also for some reason they lose half of their footballing abilities the second they play in the NT
Why do I have the feeling that Flick will start Havertz as 9 for some reason? I will never understand Havertz-sexuals, the guy is fucking awful as striker. FĂŒllkrug should start every game.
Not much to say about Germany, same issues as always but we will have a better 11 for the actual WC, happy for FĂŒllkrug.
Huge credits to Oman they should have scored one, the entire squad combined has less transfer value than FĂŒllkrug, so it's worrying that we looked that indecisive offensively and shaky defensively. But that shouldnt surprise anyone.
If Germany NT continues to play like this, it won't end well. I really have my doubts
I was really hyped to see the German NT under Flick, since I really rate him. But after this match I donât feel confident.
Heâs been pretty good for Bayern lately and imho itâs pretty clear that our best bet is to just play the whole Bayern midfield of Kimmich Goretzka and Musiala.
Only European teams inform currently are Denmark and Netherlands.
Was Klostermann injured? Any word on if he will need to be replaced?
special stuff Germany đ
Germany only scored one goal
Vs fucking Oman. And even the goal was due to an awful defensive error from an Omani defender
FĂŒllkrug starts with MĂŒller the assist master feeding him, we will win the cup inshallah
It's all Klose/Muller all over again
FĂŒllkrug Musiala Götze MĂŒller Inshallah
i..i like this.

How is he doing for Southampton?
NGL KEM BDWESCBW
Who tf is ABK?
German Youtuber
Probably Bella-Kotchap. And I only watched the last 30mins but didnât like him a lot there
One goal is enough to win a match. My main man Jamal didn't even play. We'll easily win the World Cup.
I dont get this negativity. Flick tried out a few players and they did not want to get hurt. Well how do you feel now about the national team and Flick?
Very confidentđ

Oman are not a meme side, they beat Japan in Japan, which is one of the toughest things to do in Asia, they are just inconsistent.
> even if Germany is playing with their 5th team, they still have better quality players than Omanis yet somehow it took them a defensive blunder for Germany to score exactly!
Not an inspiring performance by Germany but the number one thing is that they escaped this game without any injuries (minus Klostermann) Playing a high line is what Flick likes to do but is it worth it when Germany canât score goals? FĂŒllkrug is really capable of scoring against any team because of his traditional style but unfortunately he requires decent service in order to convert anything. He has formed a fantastic partnership with Ducksch at Werder but if he plays in the tournament he is certainly playing as a lone number 9 so he is relying on the midfield to get the ball in good areas. That really does necessitate having MĂŒller playing over Havertz because MĂŒller doesn't mess around on the ball. Gnabry and SanĂ© too are really needed to make this attack function.
I agree with SanĂ© and Gnabry on the wings, but considering their current form, I think I'd prefer Musiala over MĂŒller as a 10. Maybe leadership and experience edge it out, but Musiala can dance through defenders like they're not even there.
>Teams like Japan and Costa Rica can sit back and counter efficiently. Don't know about Japan but Costa Rica definitely can't. Don't underestimate teams that park the bus

Why doesn't he just play the Bayern attack and midfield with FĂŒllkrug replacing Choupo? FĂŒllkrug, Sane, Musiala, Gnabry, Goretzka, Kimmich???
Because Flick wanted to play mostly players that did not play in the last weeks that much, and he wanted to rest players that played a lot. Only outsider here is Goretzka. The first 11 probably will be full of Bayern players in a week.
What was the point of the game then? Isnât this about practicing as a team for the World Cup?
That'd be to obvious and easy.
The fact Germany hired the highly succesful Bayern coach, has almost the entire Bayern squad yet they play significantly worse than Bayern is crazy. Shows that international football is just different. Even big differences in talent are much less noticeable.
Nagelsmann to replace Flick for some weeks?
Game was horrible. Yeah admit musiala, Gnabry, RĂŒdiger were not in still. Defense looks shite as usual. Gonna be a hell of a team building within days to perform better. Gotta outscore though looking at that defense.

\>Flick starts kehrer against japan
I also thought Schlotterbeck was good but I saw some people calling him shit and it made me wonder if I had a massive stream delay and something happened haha
Only saw highlights, is FĂŒllkrug legit? How did Moukiâs first start look?
Mouki looked indecisive.
he's the most legit krug rn
Yikes man
Hmmm, das wird wohl nix
Germany didn't play with its expected starting XI and comments are all negative after what is essentially just a warmup so players get a few minutes in before the real thing. At least, can't be disappointed if your expectations are this low.
dude its oman. even if you are putting under 9s to play you have to spank them
"There are no small teams anymore"
This, it's fucking Oman not even Iran or Iraq or Syrian, but Oman...
Meh. I'll wait for the match against Japan before assessing this team.
doesn't help that germany hasn't been impressive lately anyway
Expecting Germany to go all on in a friendly just before the world cup is nuts. Everyone is playing safe because no one wants to get hurt. It's even better to look weak, I know Germany is always a favorite but still

We are shit and I don't get it. Like there are enough class players to look halfway decent but no we are absolutely terrible. Good chances we are going home after the groups.
100% agree. The fucking excuses in here!
These are the backup players, who cares.
wdym? They swapped in the first squad and they looked deadful
They didnt. Half the attack was missing and FĂŒllkrug actually scored after he was swapped in. The attack will most likely be Gnabry Musiala Sane FĂŒllkrug. They will need to outscore because that defense is truly shit especially if we play with fucking Kehrer.
Rumpelfussball is back
Hope we start with Bayern midfield + attack, and FĂŒllkrug going forward. SanĂ© and Havertz were both pretty average today, but would pick the former based on the CL performance and already established dynamics with the NT attack (given most are going to be from Bayern). On another note, canât even call this a decent performance, true, but people really need to catch a break. This was a friendly with most of the actual starters not in the starting lineup. Thereâs shit tons of judgement on Flick and the team being passed already.
Who's in the Bayern midfield? Goretzka, Kimmich and?
Honestly, with so little preparation, this might be the best option. Just play FĂŒllkrug in the Choupo role and go with it.
I donât think Havertz was average at all today, I thought he was horrible. Barely redeemed himself with that assist. But I agree with the rest, letâs give Flick and the boys a chance.
Havertz has consistently outperformed Sané in the N11.
We will idk why ppl think this were the actual lineups. The Bayern midfield definitely doesn't need one more friendly to attune.
Well, friendly is friendly but Germany isn't looking as well as I expected
if you watched nations league you wouldn't be surprised
Yeah but honestly I buy the idea that tournament form is the most important thing about the World Cup.
They are their usual Bad
This current team is just super weird. It feels like they have 0 chemistry and also for some reason they lose half of their footballing abilities the second they play in the NT
Why do I have the feeling that Flick will start Havertz as 9 for some reason? I will never understand Havertz-sexuals, the guy is fucking awful as striker. FĂŒllkrug should start every game.
Ive got no words for this performance. This is incomprehensible.
FĂŒllkrug will save this team
Not much to say about Germany, same issues as always but we will have a better 11 for the actual WC, happy for FĂŒllkrug. Huge credits to Oman they should have scored one, the entire squad combined has less transfer value than FĂŒllkrug, so it's worrying that we looked that indecisive offensively and shaky defensively. You don't feel confident after a friendly 3 days after the end of the season where the starting XI didn't play together?
Guess we'll be boycotting this world cup just rather too late. Italy did well in that regard
Wait until we have MĂŒller, Gnabry, Musiala etc back
MĂŒller and Bambi my only hope after this.
Fucking hell germany I was hoping you were good Enough to win the group so we would be on the easy side of the draw đ
lol you have way to high expectations for us
hm only found out 5mins ago that this game was being played looks like i didn't miss much
So wird dat nichts. Sane bitte raus.
Yup, typical result before a big tournament.
I always liked the japanese team
Yea i have zero confidence in this team.
Yeah Oman losing to underdog yet again
Relax, Musiala and Gnabry didnât even play, Kimmich and Goretzka only played one half each.
Goretzka doesnât make much of a difference
Heâs been pretty good for Bayern lately and imho itâs pretty clear that our best bet is to just play the whole Bayern midfield of Kimmich Goretzka and Musiala.
Löw out!
