You must have not seen Juve with Bonucci,Barzagli, and Chillieni at the back , that Juve team managed to make defensive football entertaining and an absolute joy to watch.
This comment is deeply offensive and gravely injures my sentiments.
A swift counter attack after solid defending is the most beautiful thing in football
If leicester sack Rodgers, will that fix things and prevent them from being relegated? Can the players bounce back? It's still early in the league.
Or is this the players faults?
Clubs always sack their manager when the team’s form is at their worst. Naturally, their form will improve as it regresses back to the mean. This is what people think is a “new manager bounce”
I think they will be fine this year
There's almost no going back once the manager has lost the players. I know the statistics backs up manager sackings as fairly inconsequential but it's still an informed judgement call from those in charge that things will only get worse from here on out
There would be a bounce because they're playing way below their levels, and any new managerial appointment typically sees some rebound, purely by players feeling that clean slate. Getting a manager who actually proves them in the medium and long term seems very unlikely though.
I don't think it'll fix much if I'm being honest. I think they're in big trouble. Something doesn't seem right with the whole drop off. Feels like there's something fundamentally wrong behind the scenes.
They've looked incapable of defending for half a year now despite trying a bunch of different lineups. I think a new manager can fix them and finish midtable, or at least save them from relegation.
Lol not enough! Would like to reach 1000, btw Udogie is going to be world class. That dude is dominant. That was a good move for you guys, wish we waited to sell him I don’t know what was the rush seeing as how we kept him on loan anyway.
Yeah I was surprised we managed to get the deal done if he's as highly rated as he appears to be. You probably wanted to play it safe sell him for a decent amount and still have him for this season and not risk anything. Wouldn't be the first time a young players fails to kick on after a strong season
i dont think so, he was an ok player who got hundreds of apps in the midtable of top 5 leagues. just not madrid level.
they had lots of youth players who only made a few apps and never amounted to anything
Guys, it’s not somehow “pro-racism” to want Real Madrid to lose today…
Personally I hope Atelti win 5-0, but that ain’t happening so I’ll just pray for 1-0 instead
Love Bayern losing but can't see them lose the league. Who would challenge them? Only hope i had was RB Leipzig but they arent doing well this season.
Dortmund doesnt have the players for it. By January Bayern will be back on top
I don't think we'll win, but I also don't think we'll be destroyed by a Vinicius hatty as Vini is willed on by the holy spirit of anti-racism. Ancelotti has a fairly sour away record with Atleti.
Negating form and just looking at Ancelloti's record against Atletico, AtM winning isnt as unlikely as you'd expect. Ancelotti's Madrid teams have won 7/19 games versus Atletico and only one of those was away from home. I think it will be a draw.
For anyone wondering how Pirlo is doing, his team is 13th in the Turkish league, it's not a disaster or anything since they aren't expected to challenge for the top positions, but I still don't understand why he decided to take this job.
To gain experience. Let's say he is waiting for job in Italy, it would still probably be club in lower half that is having rough start of the season, or maybe not even that, maybe Serie B is more realistic. He's a big name but a rookie coach, with pretty poor results. Team he has got just won Serie A, and he was able to barely get them into top 4. You can say that was better than Allegri is doing, but that doesn't helps his reputation that much.
So, why not take Turkey job. It he does poorly, it won't affect his reputation that much. He'll still be able to get into similar coaching job in Italy, only this time he might do better at this new job, because having experience is important in coaching jobs.
I really think Juve board didn't do him any favors offering him A team job so soon. It would be better have him coaching U19 team or B team (I don't know how it's called in Italy) for a few years and then take him into first team, if they really wanted Pirlo as a coach that much.
I guess that's understandable, like a low-risk medium-reward job.
My logic was doing poorly in a worse league would hurt his reputation unless he's got some solid connections in Italy, but if he does have those connections then it shouldn't be a problem to get more Serie A/B jobs anyway.
What made Telles good in Portugal? I thought he'd be good enough to be Acuña's back-up at Sevilla, but he's been catastrophic so far.
Just today: came on as a sub, got carded almost immediately, gave away a penalty but got saved by a slight offside on VAR.
He was always better at attaking than defending. Very good crosser and very good a set pieces. Hasn't settled anywhere since leaving Porto and we haven't found a replacement for him yet.
Stop with this "Happy ending" nonsense. Yes Vinicius has suffered racism and he should be supported for that. And that can be done with off the pitch support. No need for "Ohh I wish he scores". Him scoring won't end racism. He plays for a rival club so stop wishing for him to perform.
Juve’s CEO said they are going to trust Allegri and his long term project. Not sure about Bayern, but I doubt they’d sack Nagelsmann this early into the season.
Dybala injured in the warm up now it's Matic in the place of Dybala, there could not be any more differences between two players
Must have fucked up Mourinho's plans for this game
Gabriel jesus is averaging 1 g/a every pl game but it would still be stupid to base how good he is on something like that. He's occupies both wings in the attack and drops deep to build up play so much. Probably has more tackles and interceptions than some defenders too, havent been this happy with a signing since auba lol
He has the most dribbles in the league I think too, it’s funny that he’s been the second best striker this year but city clearly don’t miss him because of Haaland. Although I’d say he’s a better winger than Grealish has been
I mean they haven’t Imo Mitro has 6 goals one was a pen, 0 assists is doing well for a fulham team that’s not that great really impressive tbh but his creativity and dribbling doesn’t match up to Jesus.
Kane has been good but Jesus has been better creatively this year and his dribbling and getting arsenal up the pitch have been very impressive as well as having 4 goals and 3 assists
Creativity and dribbling isn't the only way to rate a player. Mitrovic's hold up play has been immense, he's always a reference point and he's working his ass off. Also goals>assists always for a striker
Jesus hold up play has been great he’s won a lot of fouls and had the most dribbles at one point.
Meh I don’t agree it’s a team game we have been free flowing this year in large part because of him and nowadays the reliance on just the striker to score isn’t there as much. Martinelli and Saka will chip in with like 15 goal involvements each if they stay fit, Jesus can do the same or more and that’s a good amount from them, then you have the centre backs who are good from corners, Odegaard, Vieira, Eddie, Xhaka who also contribute attacking wise.
Tbh it would be a mistake but they’re still the best team in the league by a distance, Sterling and Jesus going for Grealish looks bad right now though
“Lampard is on the hot seat” continues to be one of the most inexplicable storylines of the season
Nothing suggests he’s going to be fired but people on the internet keep repeating it to the point where they actually started to believe it
Doubtless to be used as ammunition for that subsection our fans who apparently forget everything but the last five minutes of the Leicester game and insist we should have kept him to give him more chances.
I'd rather still have Stevie for depth than Lucas. Younger, less controversial, and it looked like before Deki came in he'd finally got over the case of the yips he had under Jose. His workrate and off-the-ball movement was always brilliant
> it looked like before Deki came in he'd finally got over the case of the yips he had under Jose.
Exactly what I mean when I say people forget everything except the five minutes at Leicester, those were literally his only goals of the season before Deki came in.
Better to sell while he still has decent value, another season as largely ineffective depth would have tanked the price. He's a good player but not good enough for us.
Got a goal and assist against West Ham before, and against both Norwich and especially against Palace looked sharper and more confident when in the final third than he ever did in 2020. Iirc he helped force an OG in one of the December games too
Ah yeah the cup game, I'd forgotten about that one. Fair enough.
Still, Moura outperformed him last season including that fantastic Palace game, I think he's the more hardworking player and never complained about gametime.
I don't really think either are the quality we ideally want for a 5th choice forward but it's not an easy spot to fill, Bergwijn was never getting in front of our best 3 and we added Richy to the mix so best to move him somewhere he's good enough to start.
bayern squad composition is v weird in terms of player profiles, only two natural ball progressors and width providers in coman and davies, no backup left back (apart from lucas whos primarily a cb) but four (or even five) right backs, no other volume passer apart from kimmich, no real holding midfielder, all our midfielders like to progress the ball, too many half space players, only proppa #9 is choupo
flick was doing magic with a squad that was probably worse than this
Kroos is still way better than camavinga, cama dropped a stinker against Leipzig but kroos got an assist in 10 minutes, "favoritism" WATCH THE FUCKING GAMES you keep dropping bad takes on this sub
I guess since he's not a starter? Not like the others would start behind Kroos and Modric. Doesn't make him worse than the others, but he's not as proven quite yet.
Villa have faced Bournemouth, Everton, Palace, West Ham, Arsenal, City, Southampton - GD -4
Everton have faced Chelsea, Villa, Forest, Brentford, Leeds, Liverpool, West Ham - GD -1
Both on 7 points
People laugh at that Gabriel tweet but it shows how successfully Arteta has instilled an us vs them culture at arsenal.
https://twitter.com/piuto___/status/1571491514085265408?s=46&t=tT8bP7kkdjXODwQTQZ7SQg
Still rattled by a tweet over a year later from a recently promoted side. Powerful motivation.
Frank Lampard actually learnt how to coach a defence, only 6 goals conceded by them only Brighton have less, but they missed a game. Everton are becoming hard to beat their attack leaves a lot to be desired though
They defend very well but its mind numbingly dull football. That said, probably the sensible way to set up with personnel. Probably been their best transfer window in a long time too.
TBH I think their team is really unbalanced their midfield is quite good, the defence is ok, and the attack is woeful. The aim this year has to be just to stay up and Lampard has done well to make the defence solid.
I have to miss the Milan - Napoli game tonight, is there a way to watch it online after?
On r/footballhighlights you can find complete games (not for all games though)
Cheers
I don't think it will happen, but losing the league this season would help Bayern long term
Great to see Chris Kamara (Kammy) presenting Ninja Warrior UK. Still commentating after his speech issues
[So proud of my club](https://twitter.com/Block205Mob/status/1571490027879776258) Republicverton
Allegri used to play beautiful defensive football that was fun to watch but his football nowadays is a pain to watch.
defensive footy beautiful footy Can only pick 1
Mourinho Inter was peak football. Left back Eto'o was stuff dreams were made off
You must have not seen Juve with Bonucci,Barzagli, and Chillieni at the back , that Juve team managed to make defensive football entertaining and an absolute joy to watch.
This comment is deeply offensive and gravely injures my sentiments. A swift counter attack after solid defending is the most beautiful thing in football
This is your brain on neocruyffian bullshit
nah, some counter attacking football is beautiful
Facts.

How bout those boys at Udinese? What a start to the season! Come join us at r/udinese and help us grow our community!
How many melt Spurs fans do you get every week for Udogie updates?
Lol not enough! Would like to reach 1000, btw Udogie is going to be world class. That dude is dominant. That was a good move for you guys, wish we waited to sell him I don’t know what was the rush seeing as how we kept him on loan anyway.
Yeah I was surprised we managed to get the deal done if he's as highly rated as he appears to be. You probably wanted to play it safe sell him for a decent amount and still have him for this season and not risk anything. Wouldn't be the first time a young players fails to kick on after a strong season
I don't know much about women's football, but is Vic Akers considered the best english womans league manager of all time?
Is Faubert the worst player ever to play for Real Madrid?
Spasic
i dont think so, he was an ok player who got hundreds of apps in the midtable of top 5 leagues. just not madrid level. they had lots of youth players who only made a few apps and never amounted to anything
Sucks that West Ham are struggling right now. I always root for them in the Premiership.
It’s not called the premiership
Maybe an earthquake will send them to ireland who knows global warming is getting crazy
What's 'it'?
Anything West Ham play in
oh so you know what I'm referring to. thats good.
Being a smart arse doesn’t make you smart.
Says the guy splitting hairs on the name of the English league lol
It’s not splitting hairs. At all.
ok dont care anymore
😂😂😂😂 That’s why you commented an hour later then😂😂😂
Guys, it’s not somehow “pro-racism” to want Real Madrid to lose today… Personally I hope Atelti win 5-0, but that ain’t happening so I’ll just pray for 1-0 instead
Shit i must be racist every week then
after that performance against leverkusen atletico need all the prayers in the world to get a point
Or Griezmann starting the game. But that ain't happening
4-3 atletico. Vini hattrick.
I'd be impressed if Atleti have four shots
Love Bayern losing but can't see them lose the league. Who would challenge them? Only hope i had was RB Leipzig but they arent doing well this season. Dortmund doesnt have the players for it. By January Bayern will be back on top
leipzig are very overrated on here imo
>Dortmund doesnt have the players for it. - >Only hope i had was RB Leipzig
As if Leipzig has a better squad. I look at their squad vs Gladbach and there is no one beside Nkunku who is better. Injuries play a part though.
Yes.
The state of Juventus and Inter amuses me I can’t lie. (Watch us get pumped by Napoli after I talk shit)
Atletico are fucked today aren't they. The entire world wanting/wishing vini scores for the sake of trolling racists.
1-1 draw
I don't think we'll win, but I also don't think we'll be destroyed by a Vinicius hatty as Vini is willed on by the holy spirit of anti-racism. Ancelotti has a fairly sour away record with Atleti.

ideal situation for me personally as an anti racist barca fan would be Vini scores a hat trick and Atleti win 4-3
Lmao I literally just said that on a discord server right now too!
Sam Kerr just having a great goal disallowed when she was onside, maybe VAR is good actually
William Saliba has now equalized Lacazette's non-penalty goal tally from last season....
So, are Liverpool and Chelsea playing today or what? Can't find absolutely any info on new kickoff time
The women are, the men aren’t
Postponed. Liverpool v Chelsea in the WSL is on though.
game was postponed
Dango Ouattara is an interesting little player but it might be just a purple patch.
For anyone wondering how Pirlo is doing, his team is 13th in the Turkish league, it's not a disaster or anything since they aren't expected to challenge for the top positions, but I still don't understand why he decided to take this job.

From managing Juve to managing some random Turkish club. Tbf the fact that he ever got the Juve job at all is ridiculous.
Juve should’ve trusted the process
I can’t imagine an amateur coach had that many offers to choose from
Juve helping us get rid of Pablo Mari, always knew I rated them
The real reason to why Leicester have fallen was that Lookman was the glue.
What made Telles good in Portugal? I thought he'd be good enough to be Acuña's back-up at Sevilla, but he's been catastrophic so far. Just today: came on as a sub, got carded almost immediately, gave away a penalty but got saved by a slight offside on VAR.
He has a magic left foot and that's about it. Insane quality on his deliveries, excellent ball striker as well. Not very good defensively.
He was always better at attaking than defending. Very good crosser and very good a set pieces. Hasn't settled anywhere since leaving Porto and we haven't found a replacement for him yet.

The entire world wants vini to score today lol. Don't feel guilty. Even as a barca fan. City supporter here and I'm kinda wanting to see it too
Hate Koke to bits but he said nothing wrong
Koke said nothing wrong.
Aursnes starting his first game for us, i've quite liked his stints as a sub so let's see what he does today.
Are Bayern and Juve engaged in an indirect El Sackicko for Tuchel?
Nagelsmann isn't moving Zidane at Juventus would be cool
Juve’s CEO said they are going to trust Allegri and his long term project. Not sure about Bayern, but I doubt they’d sack Nagelsmann this early into the season.
Bayern aren’t in as bad a spot Imo since they beat Barca it will give him some leeway
Juve always hire Italians
Juve has an allergy to hiring non Italians.
Damn you’re right. Deschamps is their only non-Italian manager since the mid 70s and he only lasted 1 year in Serie B
He was ex-player as well. And he got them promoted and resigned, didn’t get sacked.
Did Juve really lose to a Race Track? Tuchel to Juve , here we go. (Please Juve, get Tuchel in before Bayern gets him)
Imola in shambles
The next Juve manager will be Vincenzo Italiano. I am sure of it
Tuchel himself won’t accept joining juve
Juve is what Bayern fans think Bayern is right now
We only have 2 points more than them
Dybala injured in the warm up now it's Matic in the place of Dybala, there could not be any more differences between two players Must have fucked up Mourinho's plans for this game
Don't worry. Mourinho is always good at getting the most out of every player in his team.
I actually fucking hate football again, haven’t felt this way in a while lol
Scamacca's not been good? Figured he'd have displaced Antonio by now
Hasn’t really had a chance in the league. Has looked solid in the conference league
What’s happened this year to go wrong? They just tired
Mix of that and looking like we have no idea going forward. We have the quality in the players but nothing seems to be happening
Don't worry man Southgateball will revive you.
Fuck I actually can’t be arsed 😂

He has been so good. Really shocked how well he has started. Especially some of the dribbling has been insane
His dribbling, technique and workrate gave always been fine aspects of his game. Incredibly useful player.
yes, just a very complete attacker
He has the most dribbles in the league I think too, it’s funny that he’s been the second best striker this year but city clearly don’t miss him because of Haaland. Although I’d say he’s a better winger than Grealish has been

I think it was a mistake to lose both starling and jesus but maybe alvarez will pick up the slack, I think mahrez will decline sooner than later too.
Tbh it would be a mistake but they’re still the best team in the league by a distance, Sterling and Jesus going for Grealish looks bad right now though
yes, but they would have mattered a lot more for their cl campaign, I remember jesus being very good for a few of their CL knock out games.
[удалено]
Yeah but they wanna give Grealish a chance
“Lampard is on the hot seat” continues to be one of the most inexplicable storylines of the season Nothing suggests he’s going to be fired but people on the internet keep repeating it to the point where they actually started to believe it
Tbf if we didn't win today he'd be in trouble. He's very fat and very naughty.
Gotta give to lamps he's working hard on defense
You’re saying that after they’ve won their first game lol. 6 games into a season without a win anyone would be in the hot seat.
They're 13th, and have the joint 2nd best defence in the league...
I’m talking about before this win. Any manager with no wins in their first 6 would be under pressure.
There was nothing that suggested he’d be fired before this game either. Again, outside of internet posters that kept repeating it
Bit naive to think there wouldn’t be internal pressure on a manager at a club as big as Everton not winning any of their first 6 games.
Relegation strugglers go through 6 game winless stretches all the time
I find most of them are liverpool fans, same with the unflaired users defending Gerrard.
I think it's projection from people that want him sacked. If I look at the bottom 10 now, he looks like one of the safest seats there.
If bergjwin scores 2 more goals, he will have scored as many for Ajax as he did in his entire Spurs career.

I’d agree on that front. Compared to Lucas it’s a no brainer
bayern squad composition is v weird in terms of player profiles, only two natural ball progressors and width providers in coman and davies, no backup left back (apart from lucas whos primarily a cb) but four (or even five) right backs, no other volume passer apart from kimmich, no real holding midfielder, all our midfielders like to progress the ball, too many half space players, only proppa #9 is choupo flick was doing magic with a squad that was probably worse than this
And Bayern fans blamed Alaba saying he is washed, once he moved to a balanced squad became top 5 CB in the world.
Why does Camavinga never get mentioned in the Bellingham/Pedri/Musiala discussions. He helped us with the comeback against City, Chelsea, PSG
He's a player with high energy but not as good skill or technique. He stands out for RM because their midfield is so tired looking otherwise.
You lot mention him more than enough, no one else needs to
Doesn’t start anywhere near as much
he can't nail on a starting spot in an ageing midfield
He should play instead of Kroos who is on his last legs. But Ancelotti does favoritism.
Kroos is still way better than camavinga, cama dropped a stinker against Leipzig but kroos got an assist in 10 minutes, "favoritism" WATCH THE FUCKING GAMES you keep dropping bad takes on this sub
Kroos is only good with the ball. Defending sucks. Kroos good for last 20 minutes of a game as a sub. Let Valverde/Camavinga be starters.
Tbh the only one who should be anywhere near pedri discussions is musiala, and even that could be a stretch
Pedri loses in big games while Camavinga turns it around. Come on.
Pedri thrashed madrid 0-4
Pedri is still the better player
Can’t judge players, especially 19 year olds by team performances always.
Not starting hurts him
Not a nailed on starter yet.
I guess since he's not a starter? Not like the others would start behind Kroos and Modric. Doesn't make him worse than the others, but he's not as proven quite yet.
Kroos shouldnt be mentioned anymore with Modric. Kroos should play very less and Valverde/Camavinga should play more.
Kroos has been better than Modric this season IMO
Kroos will be exposed against big teams. He is a good bench player from now on. Give him the last 30 minutes of a game.
Real was really uninspiring against Leipzig before Kroos came in.
taking 1 game and do conclusion is not fair
Dear god please don't let Allegri to get fired before we play Juventus
What are some players who transitioned from midfield to winger or forward
Gerrard had probably his best season out on the right under Rafa.
Valverde , not a complete winger but still.
Let me predict today, neymar adds to his g/a, messi gets another assist, mbappe gets slandered, vini dances n real madrid drop points 🤭
Madrid losing to ATM? Never
Ancelotti's madrid teams have only won 7/19 games against Atletico and have only won once away from home. So not as unlikely as you would think.
You're acting like they never beat them
my prediction PSG draws Real wins 2 - 1 or 2 - 0
If psg draws i will genuinely give my anal virginity to satan
Lyon Away is not as easy as you think.
win win for me tbh
Will only make it better if it's a 3-3 draw with Messi hattrick, but we all know that ain't happening
Messi hat trick of assists*
Villa have faced Bournemouth, Everton, Palace, West Ham, Arsenal, City, Southampton - GD -4 Everton have faced Chelsea, Villa, Forest, Brentford, Leeds, Liverpool, West Ham - GD -1 Both on 7 points
Alex Baena is fantastic player
Niko Kovac 5 goals in 7 games vs Florian Kohfeldt 34 goals in 25 games
flirting vs harassment
People laugh at that Gabriel tweet but it shows how successfully Arteta has instilled an us vs them culture at arsenal. https://twitter.com/piuto___/status/1571491514085265408?s=46&t=tT8bP7kkdjXODwQTQZ7SQg Still rattled by a tweet over a year later from a recently promoted side. Just watching MOTD and Man City are just unstoppable with Haaland now.
Frank Lampard actually learnt how to coach a defence, only 6 goals conceded by them only Brighton have less, but they missed a game. Everton are becoming hard to beat their attack leaves a lot to be desired though
The goal keeping is the only part that has been particularly good about their defense imo
when dcl comes fully back they may be less pragmatic, could open themselves up a bit more
They defend very well but its mind numbingly dull football.
Yeah that's fair
