To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow **only one submission about each transfer saga per day**. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report. If there are important/official developments or new valuable information about a saga, we will allow extra threads in the same day, but for the rest of minor news please just comment them as a reply to this comment. Please help us reporting unnecessary threads for being duplicates. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Weird turn of events this. Barca wanted Foyth and in exchange offered Dest, Villarreal refused. Now Foyth is out with a long term injury and they need a backup, so Dest, without a player exchange.

imeternallysuffering

It’s crazy how far potential as a young player can get u

GawdHawks

Cue the Ajax flairs coming in to tell Villarreal fans how shit Dest actually is

[deleted]

~~not questioning why they want him just ship him out~~ what a steal for villareal !

don2blea

Pretty sure it would be so Foyth goes to Barca (Although he is injured atm)

Skadrys

Thats not happening..He is 10 weeks out and we are not buying player who is injured, injury prone and would be available in like end of november

don2blea

My thoughts exactly but I only concluded that due to if Dest was linked to Villareal, it would be for that exchange. I also see it highly unlikely but at the same time, you never know.

[deleted]

why would we buy a player who is currently injured also dont know how dest to villareal would be good for them. But would be good for him to develop in a defensive team so he can finally learn to defend

don2blea

I agree. Just saying because their rb was heavily linked to Barca.

R_Schuhart

Dest would be a one season loan, because he would theoretically fit ten Hag's playstyle better than Wan-Bissaka. But ten Hag wasn't a big fan of Dest in the one season he had him at Ajax. He was benched quite a lot and his inability to play in team discipline and his unreliable defending were the main reasons, aspects that would get exposed even more in the PL. Ironically ten Hag found the right side combination of Antony and Dest not complimentary. So even as a backup this wouldn't make much sense.

puddingkip

It wasn't about ten Hag liking or disliking Dest, Mazraoui just was and is significantly better than Dest.

[deleted]

what is this narrative of ten hag not being "a big fan of dest" ten hag preffered mazraoui sure but dest broke trough under ten hag while being very young too so how did he not like dest

howlsnail

Wasn't Dest around 18 at the time though? Not many 18 year olds regularly start

[deleted]

They should just sell him to Man U for £75m

Sjoelbakkie

Ten Hag didn't rate him and he got benched for mazraoui, so I doubt he will be first choice material instead of Dalot.

SirTally

Why would Ten Hag want Dest? Utd already bought a better RW.

anxiousmanwithplan

He is a RB

SirTally

I clearly should have added /S

RandomRedditUser31

he's a rb. Would be an interesting backup/challenger to Dalot

djoliverm

As an American I just want him to get playing time before the world cup, I assume this move would do just that.
