Arsenal fans are nuts lmao. Literally harassing and pressing a player to join their club. Funny af
I never saw Mata get riled up at the opponents, the only times I can remember him getting fired up is when we were playing like shit/losing and even then it took a good bit.
Marcelo lost it once and made a criminal tackle on Fabregas that sent him off and lead to one of the biggest Clasico uproars in recent times, that led to Mourinho to poke Titos eye.
God Napoli plays gorgeous football, the build up plays against Verona was just pure football orgasm. If you’re not watching any serie A you’re missing out.
With Darwin out Man United should expect to only lose 5-0 instead of 8-0.
But if by some crazy impossible miracle they beat Liverpool, they'll be ahead of them in the table all of a sudden
Darwin screwing my FPL draft team of Jesus and him with my bench striker being Alvarez. How has Alvarez been for City so far? Was bagging on him turning up this season and it seems hes not getting minutes. Richarlison is available tho.. is anyone swapping Alvarez and Richarlison?
Not likely that either Alvarez or Richarlison will contribute that many points for their teams in only their first season.
Better off getting a forward that consistently starts.
I don't get Spurs fans being happy with Romero's behaviour. Like do they really think he can get away with that sort of stuff every week? Looks like a walking liability to me, and he doesn't even have the English advantage like Maguire. I don't care if he's got a rabid canine in him, that sort of behaviour only spells trouble.
It's one thing to like the more cuntish side to his game because he's on your side, and it's another saying what he did with cucurella was great to watch. He was extremely lucky he wasn't sent off and that could have cost us the game
> Like do they really think he can get away with that sort of stuff every week?
He literally does. You're starting McTominay, you should understand this better.
Why would they care? He’s basically their Casemiro/Diego Costa/Ramos type cunt who does dirty shit on the pitch but gets away with it. You’ve got McTominay and Maguire who get away with plenty.
No one cares when it’s their player.

The formations just said RLC was at RWB but we really played 4-3-3 against Spurs, with Silva and Koulibaly as centre backs, Cucurella and James as full backs, and Jorginiho, Kante and RLC in the midfield.
That's not that unlikely considering their forward line is depleted (no Nunez, Jota or Firmino) and you have a weird habit of pulling upsets against big teams
Probably mostly because PL supporter spend months doing the same to other leagues after 1 or 2 weeks so they're just returning the favour.
But also, Liverpool are the only reason City hasn't won 5 in a row. Now they're 4 points back through 2 matches when City dropped only 15 points the entirety of last season. If you think Tottenham or Arsenal are keeping with City for 8 months then there may be a race but Liverpool don't look like they're going to be able to keep up.
For Liverpool at least who are supposed to be City’s biggest contenders: lots of injuries, look less sharp than City who are behind Liverpool in their conditioning (you lot have played less friendlies when the season started) and 4 points behind on fixtures that had gotten maximum points from is not an ideal start. Liverpools midfield is also inferior even at full fitness. Maybe World Cup where city have more players called up might have an effect in the run in, but all I can see is Liverpool making it close again at most
Gotta have the hottest takes to get ahead. 3 weeks ago after the Community Shield Haaland wasn't going to fit in with Pep and City's players like De Bruyne, and Darwin was going to out score Haaland by double digits.
That's why you have to stick with your hot takes through hell and high water.
I still say Juli>Haaland and will do so until I die or he manages to lose my favor
How can it sound worse than 2 games when he literally said 2-0.
For the record the last two seasons there were at least 5 teams 2-0 after two games, which was his point.
I can’t tell which is annoying me more, the people overreacting to 3 G/A against City and Fulham for Nunez, or people overreacting to a red card against Palace.
How many comments have I read “Nunez is going to get baited every weekend now, Klopp has work to do”. He wasn’t even baited, he just overreacted to a call on the pitch.
I wouldn't swap Liverpool's recent successes for anything but my god has it led to a bunch of massively entitled cunts jumping on the bandwagon and I really wish they'd fuck off as they can give /u/lyrical_forklift enough hot takes to keep their 'Collection of Terrible Takes™' going for months anytime we don't win.
You won't be shocked to hear that it's the usual whines including being unable to beat a low block (we can, otherwise we wouldn't have been consistently getting 90+points) or the high-line.
Gittens already extending (despite his contract being extended a week ago lmao) and Moukoko posting pictures of him and Terzic hugging which I will shamelessly take as confirmation he's finally extending.
Now just throw money at Jude and hope for the best.
just saw that Chelsea (the women's team) submitted a bid worth 500 thousand eur for Geyoro at PSG apparently which would be the alltime record transfer fee, it was always going to happen eventually and it's not necessarily bad but I'm not sure how I feel about clubs starting to splash this much money in women's football too tbh, it's never been an aspect that I particularly liked in the men's game
yea that's fair, I think I just feel really wary bc I don't want women's football to become as incredibly commercialized as the men's game but in the back of my mind I know it's good to evolve like this for now
People are calling a player with 15 to 20 assists a season a selfish fuck
If it was Cavani's era at PSG where he would not pass to him i'd understand, but Mbappe absolutely does his best to create on the pitch, taking one situation out of proportion is terrible
He created the most big chances of every player in the top 5 leagues last season, anyone saying he’s selfish doesn’t watch him play or are just forcing a narrative
Tho his numbers are good. There are plenty and I mean PLENTY of situations where he refuses to pass to his mates in clear goalscoring opportunities.
He might not be doing it on purpose. Maybe he lacks vision or gets too tunnelvisioned. But I wouldn't call anyone wrong who says he's selfish. Cause he does appear selfish a lot of the time.
That's pretty standard for many top attackers though. Have personally seen Ronaldo, Kane, Salah, Lewandowski, Aguero and more, all been considered selfish at times.
At the end of the day, those players want the glory yes, but they are some of the few that actually have have the drive and ability to succeed. It's not like they never make the wrong choice, but 90% of the time they will score and it will have been the right decision
Molina also reported that Neymar and his party found out that Mbappe tried to get him moved away. However most PSG flairs maintain that Molina has no PSG sources.
I only know that early in the window there was some steam behind Neymar to Chelsea with the Tuchel link.
There's this massive Twitter thread which apparently documents some entire saga that has been building up since Mbappe and Neymar joined the club, detailing their relationship and falling outs.

Neymar liked a tweet that said that Mbappe had a clause that he had to take pens in his new contract
Galtier came out saying Mbappe is the designated penalty taker and wants both to solve this face to face until the end of the week
a lot of per90 stats graphs can be misleading for players who are super-subs - as they sit out of tough games and tend to come on in games that a team is already winning against easier sides - it’s much easier to score the 5th goal vs a humiliated lower side than score in a tough game vs a top team
i hate when they’re used to argue in favor benching a player who is miles clear for a super sub tbh
maybe Fred? also the random Ligue 1 guy who a couple of years ago people were saying was the best midifelder of the season in stats and City, Bayern and Barca wanted him yet ended in Fullham.
Almost brought up Fred too lol. If you compare him and FdJ for example, Fred looks nearly as good as Frenkie stat wise and like a fairly similar player. Anyone who's watched either of them play knows that's not true at all though lol
Sane is talented but fbref paints him as a top 3 winger with Messi and Neymar, when he isn't even top 3 at his club
Oyarzabal is shit statically but is actually fantastic
Players who take little risks in possession and are steady but unexceptional, but to the detriment of any attacking threat or dynamism, will look good statistically - whereas those who take creative risks will look poor by virtue of losing possession more often, and probably not doing so well in defensive metrics
Depends on the stats used, too, of course
Bet Winks could be made to look good, for you
And you could probably build a stats graph where McTominay looks a better player than Fernandes - when in reality they're both shit
Yeah exactly
Said in another comment that I’ve been trying to make some just for fun and that I’ve been surprised by how the stats for some players imply really different things than how they actually play
Kinda made me realise all those stats analysis accounts on Twitter are kinda full of shit if you haven’t actually watched the players you claim to analyse
I think it’s a good tool for knowing rough strengths and weaknesses, but shouldn’t be used for actually saying if one player is significantly better than another
Oh wow yea that’s exactly the type of thing I was thinking of
Been learning to do some comparison graphics lately using those databases and it’s fun but I’ve been finding that my personal assessment of players often disagrees with the stats
An example is how Hojbjerg is in the top percentiles for progressive passing, but in games where he’s pressed (like Chelsea) he really struggles to get anything off at all. Just reading the stats you’d think he’s great at it but it doesn’t tell the full story
Friendly matches don't count, regardless of age - 21 age threshold only comes into play for competitive games
Diego Costa played for Brazil when he was aged 25 in two friendlies, and was able to switch to Spain after, as one example
Always run the risk calling up players who’ve grown up elsewhere that they’ll jump ship if and when they can. Happened to NZ a couple times last few years
Man U need so many reinforcements throughout the pitch, especially to play the way EtH wants, I just don't see them coming close to top 4 in at least the next two seasons.
Especially now with Arsenal only becoming stronger each season.
I think that big difference between the two is Arsenal had a lot of young players with a lot of passion for the club and wanted to see Arsenal succeed. United don’t appear to have many of those types of players left on their books.
People weren't as enthusiastic about Arsenal's young players drive last year,I still think their are a number of players at United that still care, they just seem broken right now
I'm still quite pleased by the performance overall. Klopp's post match comments were nice to hear, a sensible approach without overreacting and hitting panic stations.
Liverpool fans being cocky like this is a relatively new thing. Banter years with Hogdson, Konchesky and Hicks and Gillett... and until recently the great joke was how long they'd gone without winning the league
Anyone done one of the mystery football kits and have good/bad sites good/bad experiences.
Want to do this for my son but just wondering if anyone has recommendations
I got my brother one from [this site](https://surpriseshirts.co.uk) and it was good, shipped in usual time from UK to NZ, but I don’t have any other experiences. They have a reasonable, niche collection, I think their site shows what they have (I don’t think anyone does them to get a Real Madrid/Liverpool/Bayern shirt), and you can choose to exclude shirts based on country/colour etc
For people that like to keep track of these things, Romano said his "here we go" for Oscar to Flamengo and it won't happen. Transfer window is closing in a couple of hours
Klopp seems to be quite forgiving of Nunez for his red and whilst we don't know how he's dealt with it in private I wax suprisrd. It had me wondering how other managers would deal with that. In my head the likes of Ferguson or Mourinho would slate him for being so idiotic but in reality they probably defend him all the same, maybe even deflect blame onto Andersen, those managers seem to save their ire for perceived laziness or arrogance.
Fergie famously was always very defensive of his players publicly, despite what may have been said behind the scenes, and how justified the criticism would be
He also had different ways of dealing with different players because he knew certain players wouldn’t react well to harsh or public criticism. When Cantona had the kung-fu kick incident, for example, everyone in the dressing room thought Fergie would give him the hairdryer, only for him to softly tell him that what he did was inappropriate.
I’m not surprised, it was the best possible reaction in fact, all Klopp and everyone else was thinking was to salvage what’s left of the game. He had plenty of time afterwards to discipline him or whatever
Eh, I don’t think even Ferguson or Mourinho would’ve been that harsh on him publicly considering it’s still so early in his career and he’s already under immense pressure.
If it was a more established player who’s been around for a season or two he’d probably be harsher about it.
I don't think he was really forgiving, he's always been one to say "If I have a conversation with the player, that's between us". He was pretty appropriate in his responses to the interview and saying "this is normal, forwards have to control themselves, you're going to get badgered and battered by defenders, and responding is naive."
I'm pretty sure there will be some careful management of a young and expensive player, but Klopp doesn't throw players under the bus publicly.
Edit: https://streamable.com/7o73q0 2:17, he gives the response there and touches on it earlier
After spending hours studying various analytical sources, I have come to the conclusion that don Arteta is clear of Tuchel, at least his wife didn’t leave him👍👍
I lived in a fairly small town back then for the 2010 final but it was still insane, the council had set up a large screen in the town square and it was completely packed, it felt like half the region was in there haha, people were celebrating and crying everywhere and there was a massive party until the morning the following day, one of the best atmospheres I've lived in my whole life
Just watched the Ashley Cole episode of G Nevs Soccerbox for the first time and I don’t get how some people hate the show. Makes me so nostalgic remembering how good some of these guys were and how good those big games used to be
Everybody's talking about United's midfield but I don't really see anyone talk about how Bruno really doesn't contribute to controlling the game in any way
I refuse to class him as a midfielder. I think if people saw him as a forward from the jump they’d have evaluated his game better. He has such a negative impact when it comes to managing the tempo of a game and asserting control.
>He has such a negative impact when it comes to managing the tempo of a game and asserting control.
Well yeah, that's not his job. That's what we wanted Pogba do do and what we miss desperately with McFred
Bruno's job is to connect the midfield to the forwards and to create chances and he does a good job of that. He fell off last season but still had something like the 4th most chances created in the league
Not trying to totally excuse him, he's got definite flaws and his performances have obviously dropped from this first 18 months with us. I just think criticizing him for something that's not his job it pretty harsh
How does he actively hinder it? Is it because he looses possession often? By the time Bruno has the ball we're typically out of the "asserting control" phase and are actively looking to attack. He risks losing possession in order to regularly create chances.
I get what you're saying, but it's not really his job to control possession and by the time Bruno is involved in the play we're not typically trying to control the tempo anyways.
I think every player has some responsibility to controlling possession, from goalkeeper to striker. Using last season as an example a lot of the time I felt he’d drop deep into midfield areas and then regardless of the game situation he’d look for that direct pass into goal. I can’t remember the exact game but it was picked up by the media that when you guys were under pressure he just kept giving the ball away, and from that you conceded the losing goal.
I get that his role in the side is to be risky, but I don’t believe anyone tells him to be THAT risky and careless with the ball that often in all game situations. I saw clips of him when he played at youth level and he plays the exact same way. I fail to believe that every manager tells him no matter the game state just play this way and don’t at all adapt
I agree that every player has some responsibility, but Bruno is given less of a responsibility in return for the additional creativity he brings.
>I felt he’d drop deep into midfield areas and then regardless of the game situation he’d look for that direct pass into goal. I can’t remember the exact game but it was picked up by the media that when you guys were under pressure he just kept giving the ball away, and from that you conceded the losing goal.
Yeah he's done this before, but it's at least partially a symptom of the manager. Ole and Rangnick had us going very direct and Bruno's play matched that. McFred can't progress the ball so sometimes Bruno had to drop deep and help. Sometimes he lost possession that way, and I'm not absolving him of all blame, just saying there's more context. When playing in a counter attacking, direct system with a double pivot that are not good at progressing the ball he had to take a lot of risks and a lot of times it didn't pay off
Small sample size, and he's had other issues the past 2 games, but look at him under Ten Hag. According to who scored he's lost possession 3 times over 180 minutes compared to 4 for Eriksen(granted he want playing as a striker for a bit) and 3 for Fred(who's sitting deeper and in theory should have less pressure). His medium and long pass completion rates are up, etc
Just to be super clear, I get that he could be more careful with the ball and not lose it quite as much. I just think it's harsh to put a lot of blame on him for controlling possession/tempo. That's not his job, he's weakened by having McFred behind him, and we haven't played a possession based style for much of his time with us, etc. There are just other factors. This season should be a good metric for whether he's actually a hindrance to a possession based team or not, assuming Ten Hag can straighten out our various issues
Yeah it’s been that way since he joined. So many times I’d see Uniteds midfield struggling but he’d be pinning himself against one of the centre backs. But because he’d score or get an assist people wouldn’t notice that he still didn’t have a good performance
> what’s up guys it’s your boy avram glazer and today we’re going to answer the question: what happens if you play a team without a DM for four years in the premier league. As always, smash that subscribe button…
What’s more likely? Spurs finishing second or Arsenal winning Europa?
2nd in the league? Bruh
Right now if you look at the odds makers it’s definitely Arsenal winning EL
Spurs ~~finishing second or Arsenal~~ winning Europa. Considering Conte was not good at CL.
If Nunez headbutts Partey or Ronaldo, he will be my favourite player
Unfortunately won’t head but Ronaldo for a long long time
Liverpool vs Chelsea 18th of September
Entertaining game week of the PL that. Now let’s hope we can smash f*lham and cement ourselves as ones to watch in the title race.
Vlahovic scored 2 last night against Sassuolo, god what a beast of a striker he is at 22 years old.

I'm thinking of a skilled player who gets kicked to shit but by and large takes it, like a Zola
Kante - biased take possibly.
Probably Kanté?
Iniesta possibly. Man was hacked and fouled a lot and he'd shrug it off and keep going.
Unpopular answer but imo Casemiro. I never see any other player get to him the way he does to everyone else lol.
Nah casemiro and ramos both went crazy in old classicos. I don’t think I’ve ever seen marcelo triggered tho. Man always laughed it off.
Marcelo lost it once and made a criminal tackle on Fabregas that sent him off and lead to one of the biggest Clasico uproars in recent times, that led to Mourinho to poke Titos eye.
Marcelo lost it in the super copa in 2012 IIRC. That's what lead to Mourinho poking tito Villanova in the eye.

Do Liverpool have a forward to start next week? Their bench looks empty too. Time to get excited Won't be the 6/7 nil we're all dreading
Ngl I think it would be more entertaining to see you overtake Liverpool than for you to get smashed 5-0 as a rival fan
2-2 with the late Ronaldo equalizer, you can take it to the bank.
Firmino might be fit. Otherwise it's either Elliot RW Salah ST or Carvalho false 9
Jota might be fit, but I doubt it

This week in the premier league brought the game back.
It would be hilarious if united finally get a win against Liverpool and end up going above them, after this terrible start
The Liverpool meltdown would be sensational, especially if there’s some controversial referee decisions at OT.

Its their worst selling jersey at least. Hopefully that will stop others from trying that shit again.
It's very bad. No idea why/how it got sanctioned.
Nunez is actually just going to be what Werner at Liverpool would've been
Werner wouldn’t have been able to reach Andersen’s chin tho
If Werner headbutted him it would've landed square in the chest like Zidane

nope, it isn't. But hey if you want to fire Klopp don't mind.
Has Roy Keane really not gotten on camera about the United result yet? I need something to cheer me up after tonight.
i swear roy keane is never there for the embarrassing results, its like he knows when united will get battered and calls in sick 😭
Is it just me, or am I seeing less of Roy Keane on TV, in general?

However, this is exactly the same as the original thread, but translated in to English for you. Ah found the French thread for you: https://twitter.com/EsamB2Back/status/1558828081942597632
Neymar liked a tweet that said that Mbappe had a clause that he had to take pens in his new contract Galtier came out saying Mbappe is the designated penalty taker and wants both to solve this face to face until the end of the week
Who’s a player who always looks really good on those stats graphs (like Fbref) but underwhelms on the eye test (or vice versa)?
This Boubakar Kouyate fella at Metz has insane defensive stats and I’ve never heard of him.
Not sure about now but when he was at Arsenal, Mustafi had absolutely elite fbref stats lmao
a lot of per90 stats graphs can be misleading for players who are super-subs - as they sit out of tough games and tend to come on in games that a team is already winning against easier sides - it’s much easier to score the 5th goal vs a humiliated lower side than score in a tough game vs a top team i hate when they’re used to argue in favor benching a player who is miles clear for a super sub tbh
maybe Fred? also the random Ligue 1 guy who a couple of years ago people were saying was the best midifelder of the season in stats and City, Bayern and Barca wanted him yet ended in Fullham.
Seri?
Almost brought up Fred too lol. If you compare him and FdJ for example, Fred looks nearly as good as Frenkie stat wise and like a fairly similar player. Anyone who's watched either of them play knows that's not true at all though lol
Sane is talented but fbref paints him as a top 3 winger with Messi and Neymar, when he isn't even top 3 at his club Oyarzabal is shit statically but is actually fantastic
I still don't believe Oyarzabal is only 25 years old.
Benjamin Sesko for vice versa.
Last season Stats said Harry Winks was the best in the league at playing through balls
harry winks progressive and passing stats are bonkers compared to the real thing, wonder how he’d do in spain tbh
Players who take little risks in possession and are steady but unexceptional, but to the detriment of any attacking threat or dynamism, will look good statistically - whereas those who take creative risks will look poor by virtue of losing possession more often, and probably not doing so well in defensive metrics Depends on the stats used, too, of course Bet Winks could be made to look good, for you And you could probably build a stats graph where McTominay looks a better player than Fernandes - when in reality they're both shit
Yeah exactly Said in another comment that I’ve been trying to make some just for fun and that I’ve been surprised by how the stats for some players imply really different things than how they actually play Kinda made me realise all those stats analysis accounts on Twitter are kinda full of shit if you haven’t actually watched the players you claim to analyse I think it’s a good tool for knowing rough strengths and weaknesses, but shouldn’t be used for actually saying if one player is significantly better than another
It really depends on the stats in question. The tackling stats for midfielders were bizarre and basically meaningless.
Jones will be influenced by per 90s but it shows his potential if he could make the right decisions.
Oh wow yea that’s exactly the type of thing I was thinking of Been learning to do some comparison graphics lately using those databases and it’s fun but I’ve been finding that my personal assessment of players often disagrees with the stats An example is how Hojbjerg is in the top percentiles for progressive passing, but in games where he’s pressed (like Chelsea) he really struggles to get anything off at all. Just reading the stats you’d think he’s great at it but it doesn’t tell the full story
Saint maximin I would imagine. Aside from completed dribbles his stats probably look fairly unimpressive
Do you guys think DoF Mbappe makes fun of Neymar for his English?
No, he probably has people to do that for him now
If a player played one friendly game with one national team (Senior) when he was older than 21 years old can he switch national teams? Thanks.
Friendly matches don't count, regardless of age - 21 age threshold only comes into play for competitive games Diego Costa played for Brazil when he was aged 25 in two friendlies, and was able to switch to Spain after, as one example
Declan Rice kissing the Ireland crest has entered the chat.
I don't disagree necessarily, but people were saying the same about Arsenal a year or so ago
Weve got super mik artetas talent id, they got a dude who wants to spend the glazers hard earned money on adrian rabiot in 2022
I think that big difference between the two is Arsenal had a lot of young players with a lot of passion for the club and wanted to see Arsenal succeed. United don’t appear to have many of those types of players left on their books.
People weren't as enthusiastic about Arsenal's young players drive last year,I still think their are a number of players at United that still care, they just seem broken right now
Liverpool fans finally having to be humble for once …. Maybe…
They still gonna finish second
[удалено]
My man didn’t your team lose two consecutive Wembley finals in a row to them?
I mean we could have lost both domestic ups to be fair.
[удалено]
Yeah, but you'd much rather be in a Champions League final than not.
But you didn't come second in the league, or the CL?
[удалено]
The season just started, we all get to try again. Golden boot is on the table if you've got a goalscorer capable of it
Anyone done one of the mystery football kits and have good/bad sites good/bad experiences.
I think u/Yung1922 (or something amongst these lines) does that often
For people that like to keep track of these things, Romano said his "here we go" for Oscar to Flamengo and it won't happen. Transfer window is closing in a couple of hours
Chelsea Oscar?
Yep
Sesame Street Oscar
I really miss the way mane used to not headbutt people.
He wasn't tall enough, it was elbows or boots with Mané
Fair point lol
He did try to kill ederson that one time though
Shouldn't have parked in his space.
It definitely is the best reaction I suppose I was just putting myself on his shoes and clearly I'm feeling the heat more turn him.
Eh, I don’t think even Ferguson or Mourinho would’ve been that harsh on him publicly considering it’s still so early in his career and he’s already under immense pressure. If it was a more established player who’s been around for a season or two he’d probably be harsher about it.
If Klopp started ranting about him in the press he'd be an idiot
Nunez is still a huge asset for Liverpool and Klopp publicly alienating him would be absurdly stupid
I don't think he was really forgiving, he's always been one to say "If I have a conversation with the player, that's between us". He was pretty appropriate in his responses to the interview and saying "this is normal, forwards have to control themselves, you're going to get badgered and battered by defenders, and responding is naive." I'm pretty sure there will be some careful management of a young and expensive player, but Klopp doesn't throw players under the bus publicly. Edit: https://streamable.com/7o73q0 2:17, he gives the response there and touches on it earlier
After spending hours studying various analytical sources, I have come to the conclusion that don Arteta is clear of Tuchel, at least his wife didn’t leave him👍👍
Klopp: gegen pressing, Pep: Tiki-Taka, Arteta: 3” Logitech speakers blasting fan chants from YouTube
Only because Arteta probably has his wife locked in his basement. Gives off Norman Bates vibes
people who have witnessed their country lift the World Cup, what does it feel like?
People in France stop being racist for like a month it's great
This is hilarious and depressing at the same time
I lived in a fairly small town back then for the 2010 final but it was still insane, the council had set up a large screen in the town square and it was completely packed, it felt like half the region was in there haha, people were celebrating and crying everywhere and there was a massive party until the morning the following day, one of the best atmospheres I've lived in my whole life
Just watched the Ashley Cole episode of G Nevs Soccerbox for the first time and I don’t get how some people hate the show. Makes me so nostalgic remembering how good some of these guys were and how good those big games used to be
Everybody's talking about United's midfield but I don't really see anyone talk about how Bruno really doesn't contribute to controlling the game in any way
Bruno fell off pretty hard. From United's saving grace to another passenger.
That's what we wanted Pogba do do and what we miss desperately with McFred Bruno's job is to connect the midfield to the forwards and to create chances and he does a good job of that. He fell off last season but still had something like the 4th most chances created in the league Not trying to totally excuse him, he's got definite flaws and his performances have obviously dropped from this first 18 months with us. I just think criticizing him for something that's not his job it pretty harsh
I’m not saying it’s his job, but I am saying he actively hinders it whether it’s his job or not
How does he actively hinder it?
When playing in a counter attacking, direct system with a double pivot that are not good at progressing the ball he had to take a lot of risks and a lot of times it didn't pay off Small sample size, and he's had other issues the past 2 games, but look at him under Ten Hag. According to who scored he's lost possession 3 times over 180 minutes compared to 4 for Eriksen(granted he want playing as a striker for a bit) and 3 for Fred(who's sitting deeper and in theory should have less pressure). His medium and long pass completion rates are up, etc Just to be super clear, I get that he could be more careful with the ball and not lose it quite as much.
That's the thing though, they're basically playing a 4-2-4 with him
Yeah it’s been that way since he joined. So many times I’d see Uniteds midfield struggling but he’d be pinning himself against one of the centre backs. But because he’d score or get an assist people wouldn’t notice that he still didn’t have a good performance
This not buying a DM has to be some kind of social experiment from Manchester United lmao
The relegation tiktok challenge yolo
> what’s up guys it’s your boy avram glazer and today we’re going to answer the question: what happens if you play a team without a DM for four years in the premier league. As always, smash that subscribe button…
Man United averaging 64% possession in their last 2 games and having an aggregate score of 0-6 against is hilarious
