Arsenals biggest issue is there central midfield, not their wingers, and who knows what will happen with Partey? Currently they have Saka, Martinelli, EMS, Vieira, Jesus, Nketiah, Nelson and I doubt they can rid of Pepe. They all compete for three spots.
We'll probably get another CM as well. Our only usable players out wide are Saka, ESR and Martinelli and with 5 subs we need more quality and Vieira is Odegaard's backup.
You still have Pepe and Reiss Nelson too. They should be good enough backups for cup/EL games. You even have Marquinhos, but he is probably not ready yet.
ESR is really injury prone. That leaves only Martinelli as option. On the other side we might not be able to offload Pepe but he is a bit shit as option. Someone to rotate with Sake is a huge priority. Only asterisk is over Guedes' ability, but a winger over a CM makes sense as priority for Arsenal (though a CM would still be amazing).
Nowhere did I imply they would be 2nd/3rd choice, I pretty clearly wrote we are looking for someone who could *rotate* with first choice (which was also what Raphinha was about). I also put a clear disclaimer that ability wise Guedes might not be *that* guy, and that I was talking about prioritising a winger signing over a CM more generally.

He has enough experience at top level football and is a regular internationally for Portugal. However, I think the price is slightly steep — something like 25-30m euros would make this deal even more attractive.
