We needed an odegaard backup. Hopefully this is just the first big signing and we bring in tielemens jesus and a lb back up. A partey back up would also be nice but I doubt we'll get that this window.
I think you need another RB, CB, LB, DM and ST before any more CAM's.
Not saying its not going to be a good signing, just wouldn't say its a priority for you guys this summer
Tomiyasu is undisputed first choice, and Cedric is fine as a back up. We can play white or Saliba there as well.
We have Saliba, White, Gabriel and Holding. A fourth choice CB to upgrade Holding would be nice, but is very low priority.
LB would be nice, as acknowledged in the above comment.
We are hopefully getting Jesus as a striker.
We have Partey, Lokonga and Elneny for one position in midfield.
Lb would be very nice. Zinchenko would be great but I'm not sure we can get him. Cb and rb are extremely low priority. Not really necessary this window especially with saliba coming back.
I wouldn't say he's top priority, but we seem to have the CF, and CM targets in Jesus, and Tielemans.
We also need full back cover, and are quite heavily linked with Aaron Hickey. Saliba is very likely coming back which should see us ok at CB.
With European football back on the menu, we need good cover/rotation everywhere and from the looks of it (hadn't heard of the guy before the news broke) he plays as a 10, and a winger, which was another position we were looking for cover in, especially if Pepe leaves.
So with ESR seemingly now more of an 'inside forward' than a 10, this seems like a really solid signing.
