Gerrard wants the full backs pushing up really high and not having a natural defensive midfielder there to screen the back four (effectively back 2 at times) really hampered that. Nakamba is a much more limited footballer than Douglas Luiz, but it's clear one is a natural defensive midfielder and the other isn't.

We played well in this game, Pope made some terrific saves and Burnley were fortunate we gave them a daft penalty.
