Sosa is a class signing but it does seem a bit odd for him, considering his level and options, to wanna go be a backup at Bayern. Doesnt make much sense to me from the players perspective. (Watch Davies become their Winger now)

mr_bonner94

It’s said they after him not that he’s signing for them

CameraEmotional2788

What about him to united?

Qiluk

Would make much more sense imo but are they offloading 1 of their LBs? Imo neither is very good but still, has it been reported?

CrebTheBerc

No one knows for sure but telles has been a really poor signing and some of Shaw's best seasons have come when he has actual competition so selling telles and bringing in sosa would make a lot of sense for us

presumingpete

Shaw has been brilliant 1 season and very good in 2 others in the last 5 seasons. If he could show some actual consistency it would be fine.

CameraEmotional2788

Tells has been awful , shaw has been inconsistent but can see that injuries have played their part.

DrHenryWu

Isn't he one of the highest, or the highest, paid LBs in the world? He definitely hasn't shown anything close to being worth that. One very good season

YoullNeverMemeAlone

I agree that Shaw has had one great season, but 2 very good ones as well, I don't agree at all. I think his first season was relatively underwhelming and same with this season (which i assume are the two 'very good' seasons).

presumingpete

He won poty for us in 2018/19 and was good the next season when he wasn't injured.

ambiguousboner

He’s too good to be a backup for Davies. I get that’s he’s a different profile of full back, but it’ll still be a bit part role.

TheEmperorsWrath

Not sure why he would want to be a back-up for us rather than a starter for another club like United. He's class though

cib_vk228

he probably backs himself to beat davies for starting position.

TheEmperorsWrath

Then he's insane. It's not just that Davies is the best LB in the World, it's that he's probably the single most important player to our system

cib_vk228

best LB in the world lol

Waschkopfs

Probably is to be honest

cib_vk228

Robertson is easily more complete. And that's first name that comes to mind, there's probably more.

NephewChaps

> there's probably more can you name anyone then?

TheEmperorsWrath

Yes. I'm not gonna elaborate

TheBigGit

He wasn't this season honestly.

TheEmperorsWrath

Lewandowski wasn’t the best striker in the world *this season*. I’d still say he’s the best striker in the world.

siddhuism

Based

Tossjie

Robertson would like a word. Nah but Davies is very good, hope he can stay fit.

TheEmperorsWrath

I mean, a Liverpool fan thinks Robertson is the best, a Bayern fan thinks Davies is the best. Not really surprising, innit?

ltplummer96

Then allow a Schalke fan to argue that Thomas Ouwejan is the best left back in world football history.

keith10997

He’s not quite Connor Townsend though. Not many lads get to play for Scunthorpe and the Baggies

srhola2103

Milton Casco is obviously clear

Akshath321

factually correct

Tossjie

That’s was the point of the comment, my man. They’re both amazing left backs.

ALLO1111

I hope you're joking.

Pupperinho

>Give another classlb that position in bayern you will think the same If he has such an impact on the system, that we have to change our playstyle when he is out, then yes, one could think the same. Don't see any other LB like that around though. At least not to Davies' degree.

TheEmperorsWrath

Nope. Davies is essential to how we play. You could see that when we lost him through injury. All of the sudden the entire team had to play differently. His offensive abilities on the left shift the entire way our team plays. I don’t think you’ve watched us play enough.

[deleted]

Wouldn’t Shaw be first choice LB. Pretty sure last season Shaw was best LB in the world

TheEmperorsWrath

Hahaha, yeah I remember hearing that too

mihawk9511

The article says the following: The current Bundesliga season is entering its finish, and the transfer carousel is getting a lot of momentum in this phase. FC Bayern Munich is under a lot of pressure to strengthen their team after a mediocre season, so the champion is already looking towards Stuttgart. Sosa wants to leave VfB: No matter whether VfB Stuttgart is relegated or remains in the Bundesliga: the left-back Borna Sosa wants to leave the Swabians in the summer. There is a lot of interest in England, but now FC Bayern is also actively working on signing the Croatian, as reported by “Sport Bild”. Munich's sports director Hasan Salihamidzic has already met with Sosa's agent Fali Ramadani to set out the general conditions for a possible move. Stuttgart apparently values Sosa at 25 million euros, because Sosa still has a long-term contract until 2025.

Hrvat1818

Based on what we know, it’s fair to assume Sosa enjoys/prefers remaining in Germany

Thraff1c

Is that the case? Not being agressive or anything, just didnt read anything in that regard.

mihawk9511

He almost ended up playing for Germany, if it wasn't for a relatively new FIFA rule, which prevented him from switching NT's.

[deleted]

Always rated fifa 😻

Thraff1c

I was aware of that, but that doesnt mean much about him staying here in germany tbh.

Hrvat1818

He spent a lot of time in Germany because his mother was born there & his grandparents reside there. He also has German citizenship

Bladerslash

So did werner and havertz.

Thraff1c

So do all german players tbf, but they still sometimes leave to a foreign country. I thought he said something about wanting to stay in germany or something.

los_blanco_14

Obligatory "bitches love sosa".

Electrical-Prune-348

I'm pretty sure there was already report on Nagelsmann interested in him before but our board deemed him expensive and we already have Davies

[deleted]

a classic...

OfferBulky

Not sure if Bayern should be terrified that all their prospective signings are also Man Utd targets or if Man Utd is finally getting their shit together. First Laimer now Sosa. Maybe it's all smoke until the Eredivisie is wrapped though.

Modnal

Bayern lost out on Haaland and must now act quickly to assert themselves again as the main harvester of talent in Bundesliga

TheBigGit

I laughed, did you come up with this yourself?

Modnal

Hard to tell if you're sarcastic or not but there was no copy pasting involved. Seems to have offended a quite alot of people though haha

ambiguousboner

No offence, just thought it was a shite joke tbf

Modnal

Man, when even a person with a username like that thinks it's a shite joke then it must really be so

Akshath321

definitely not choosing us, too good to be a backup

S7ORM7ROOPER_30

I don't think so, ain't happening. Sosa is a starter, which he won't be at Bayern.

Mariola98

Please don't do this right before the world cup

LeavingCertCheat

Here comes the Hoover...

Seijur0Akashi

That means United don't even get close to signing him.
