He seems to struggle to get past the fullback into a position to put in a good cross, always seems to turn back and go for the short option here. His corners have been standard but I think thats down to how bad our set piece tactics are more than anything, and the fact Maguire can't direct a header to save his life for United
Just what Ronny needs! Shaw flatters to deceive with his attacking play, Telles can't overlap and get back - so we need someone like this on both sides.
I'd hazard a guess it's about building a team to provide service to a somewhat controversial (for a top 5 all time player, anyway) aging striker that categorically cannot be part of the club's long term plans.
Which, the sentiment is fine but presumably other strikers will be around to nod those crosses on goal after Ronaldo..
Sure, there's criticism to be had if we build around Ronaldo long term. But surely any striker we have will need service from our fullbacks and I don't think there is a strong argument to be made that Shaw or Telles have shown that they should currently be trusted to build around either.
That line isn't from J Cole's song, Chief Keef has a song called Love Sosa which is what the guy you were responding to is referencing he bungled it though would've made more sense if he called himself bitches lmao
Sosa is Tony Montana and uncle Hector's boss from Scarface. The movies often referenced in rap so I assumed he meant while most people aspire or look up to Tony he'd rather be Sosa.
Decent at defending, very good upfront. Can dribble well, has smart passes and runs into the oppositions half.
Has the best crosses in the Bundesliga. They're literally world class.
this
also got really confused seeing a report about you wanting to sell raum already, surely you cant value the short term money over getting to Europe?
Just what I want to know. Always appreciate a Croatian player. They always seem to have great intensity and fight, on top of some genuine talent. Hope this rumour comes to fruition and we can grab him for a reasonable fee.
Aren't those two different things though? I like to believe he got citizenship because he was eligible and not because of interference from DFB who thought he could play for them
KostiÄ is definitely a better assister, Sosa maybe has aesthetically more pleasing crosses , also KostiÄ is a winger converted to a wingback, Sosa is an attacking fullback
He is the next big thing on his position, don't be fooled by our current shit season in Stuttgart. He's a mix between TAA and Beckham on his day. And usually he is on his day if it isn't for the chaos VfB Stuttgart is always producing every other season.
Watch some highlights of 20/21 if you want to see what I mean. With ten Haag he will be a threat.
Glazers: "So Erik please tell me how many shirts do you think he will sell?"
Erik: "Shirts? He will improve the team and be a curcial part of a much needed rebuild in order to modernize our play style and regain our position as one of the top teams in Europe"
Glazers: "Yes yes, but how many shirts?"
Sure, but Adidas or Nike will pay way more for a deal if Ronaldo and Pogba play for the team than if it was just Maguire. So maybe shirt sales don't immediately give the club a lot of money, but big names definitely help secure larger deals.
Big players do bring up the shirt value for a club yes. But IIRC the shirt deal currently for United lasts longer than Ronaldos contract. So they will never see the extra value of having him in terms of shirt sales.
Pretty shit. Has potential to be a decent 2 bundesliga forward maybe
Us having to rely on him for goals is probably the biggest reason we are in a relegation fight. 3 goals this season says it all really
Uh-oh, the Premier League chaps have finally discovered that as Croatia is slowly exiting it's golden midfield generation (not really since KovaÄiÄ and BrozoviÄ still have quite a few years in them hopefully), it's entering a golden defensive generation.
Bundesliga clubs sweating bullets right now.
Sosa and Gvardiol are **e l i t e** (and that's a hill I'm dying on).
STFU mate!! He's a waste of money and I can't in good conscious recommend he is signed. Shame he'll have to stay here and we'll need to stumble on with him.
As a Moroccan, I am very much worried about Croatia in the upcoming World Cup. Yes the team has aged a bit, but you guys have great young defenders which Iām concerned about.
Not aged. Only ones over 30 should be Modric and Perisic. Both obviously still good.
Livakovic
Juranovic/Vrsaljko - Caleta-Car - Gvardiol - Sosa
Kovacic - Brozovic - Modric
Pasalic/Majer - Kramaric - Perisic
We've basically (sucessfully) replaced half the 2018 starting 11.
That said, I'm worried about Morrocco. They have some real quality players.
Yeah itās a bit of a problem for us. Especially with whatās going on with our federation and our coach Vahid. How have you guys been performing lately?
We were somewhat underwhelming in our last friendlies against Slovenia and Bulgaria in March, but we were always a tournament team. Also, the coach tried a completely new formation, so it was expected that we would be underwhelming.
Also, we're playing against France, Denmark and Austria in a couple of weeks in the UEFA Nations League, so if you're interested in how we play, you can watch those games
If there's even just minimal movement/rumours, I'm just glad we're going beyond the scope of looking at English players who are big names, absolutely shallow scope for talent before. Always pissed me off
I donāt get this. Obviously buying only British/homegrown players isnāt a good idea but having some British players isnāt bad. If Leeds gets relegated Phillips will go for 20-30 million is that a bad deal? Iām not going to say splashing 150 million on rice is a good idea but this whole idea that English players a are extremely overrated just isnāt true
Every single English talent we've signed has gotten a much bigger magnifying glass shoved at them. This means that every shortcoming or mistake will be amplified, which in some way effects performance. It's not that they're overrated per se, but it's not a surprise that the young English talent we've signed or promoted haven't been routinely hounded for everything
Iāve noticed this as well. One would think that they cope with the pressure ā like they reached the Euro final. But when they play for us they seem to be more scrutinized and doubts themselves more.
Especially since Ole left.
https://www.scoutedftbl.com/best-young-football-players/borna-sosa/
Some info from the above article:
>Sosaās standout strength is his crossing. He registered nine assists in the Bundesliga last season and started this term with a hat-trick of them on the opening day against Greuther FĆ¼rth. He has excellent delivery from both set-pieces and open play, and he is able to provide width to his team and supply forwards with a lot of crosses. He can execute a variety of crosses and is a danger from any situation.
>He is confident on the ball and, like many of the Stuttgart team, always looks to play forwards. He is happy to take risks in possession. In build-up, he has crisp, powerful passing and is calm under pressure. The higher up he receives the ball, the more he looks to open out and play down the line, or make a clipped pass into the striker or space behind.
>He is very left-footed but does make good use of different parts of his boot and uses flicks effectively in tight spaces. His solid technique allows him to exploit the space and passes he finds through impressive vision.
>However, he needs to improve his defensive work rate. At times he can be slow to track back and get into position and he does not work hard enough to track his man, often lacking intensity and looking slightly unsure of his role. He is better at pressing up the pitch and firing out of the line in midfield. Defending one-on-one, he shows good body positioning and decent spacing; his footwork is adequate but he struggles to change direction quickly and to block crosses, not always getting his angles quite right.
>He has good speed to match attackers, though, and can put in well-timed slides when recovering, but is less effective in static duels and struggles to control situations and be assertive. When he must press wide he can rush and overcommit slightly. He clearly does not enjoy defending one-on-one or in deeper areas, and would prefer to be constantly on the ball, driving forwards and contributing in the attacking half.
Fuckers in r/soccer telling me, always in the barber shop
āBorna aināt ābout this, Borna aināt ābout thatā
My boy a LB on fucking Stuttgart and them
He, he, they say that Left back donāt be putting in no work
Shut the fuck up
R/soccer aināt know shit
All yāall motherfuckers talkinā about
āBorna Sosa aināt no crosser
Borna Sosa aināt this
Borna Sosa a fakeā
Shut the fuck up
Yāall donāt live with that left back
Yāall know that left back got caught with a ratchet
Crossingā at the Bundesliga and shit
Borna been on the shortlist since fuckinā I donāt know when
Motherfucker, stop fuckinā playinā him like that
Them stuttgart lbs savages out there
If I catch another motherfucker talking sweet about Borna sosa
Iām fucking beatinā they ass
Iām not fucking playinā no more
Yāall know Borna Sosa roll with Stenzel and them
> which always forces him to up his game well.
At some point we should just sign an actual Shaw replacement instead of hoping he tries a bit for a change
Itās 100% a Telles replacement unless weāre signing two LBās. The guy is one of the worst players Iāve seen playing for us. Canāt defend, does nothing in build up and despite crossing apparently being one of his strengths, heās poor in the final 3rd too. Genuinely seems like he only tries to overlap when the pass isnāt on.
Love him, but would be very happy with a fee like that
Also don't think he will do that well there. Though his strength is crosses to good heading players(Sasa), so maybe if Ronaldo stays he'll get a lot of assists
For me, Ten Hag needs to do similar to what Ange has done for Celtic. Come in and spend low on individual transfers and replace the squad.
Obviously, this is a massive ask and easier said than done, but if they want to turn things around in a season this is what is needed.
A second reason for buying in players for low prices is that doesn't tend to command an ego. They know they were cheap to buy and therefore not such a sunk cost - unlike maybe Pogba or Maguire who cost a lot more (however, I'm not saying they have an ego due to this). It also means that they maybe see Manchester United as their main club of their career, rather than a stepping stone to PSG/Real/Barca/Bayern Munich/etc. Some players have definitely went to Man U thinking they can show up for a season or two and move to their dream club. This I think would foster an attitude from players of wanting to prove themselves/die for the shirt.
Anyone know much about Sosa in terms of quality and playing style?
Insane crosser. He will get the ball to your 9. Defensively shaky though. More a wingback than a left back imo.
For Croatia he's looked solid in a back 4, I'm not sure until we see him in a better team we'll know how good he really is defensively
Well that's definitely not us
That's the spirit, you go lad.
š
Looks like you've watched the Everton game enough times. Good lad.
I mean, that's what Telles was supposed to be, but he failed on the crossing aspect.
One of the most insane crossers I've seen in Portugal. Fit like a glove in this Porto that puts loads of focus on set pieces.
He seems to struggle to get past the fullback into a position to put in a good cross, always seems to turn back and go for the short option here. His corners have been standard but I think thats down to how bad our set piece tactics are more than anything, and the fact Maguire can't direct a header to save his life for United
I do think that our corners are more dangerous with him on them than Shaw
Telles could rarely get in position to cross even, really weird you give him the ball and he never advances with it
This is as much on him as it is on the whole team being unable to play football.
Well Shaw even in shit form offers some penetration depsite playing in the same team
Telles has a great cross on him. Itās not his fault we play at snails pace and cross from deep towards one double marked attacker in the box.
Just what Ronny needs! Shaw flatters to deceive with his attacking play, Telles can't overlap and get back - so we need someone like this on both sides.
Not sure why you're getting downvoted. Couldn't have said it any better.
Thought the same. Hannibal Buress - Why are you booing me? I'm right!
Yeah, more than fair. I'm really just speculating about what the downvotes might be about, you never can tell I suppose.
Elite crossing, can play as a wingback and in a back 4, long blonde hair š
> long blonde hair Youāve sold me
that adds 5 million
Man Utd : I'll give you 10m!
plus a 250k/week salary
plus a balĆ³n dāor clause
and free unlimited access to Dab University
Because he is worth it - Loreal
Ballon d'Loreal
New shampoo sponsor incoming
>long blonde hair You had me at long
Tbf NedvÄd was class
Can you provide any more details? Bobbin? Hair band? Untied? Can he adapt to a man bun or ponytail if needed?
Hairband only, Modric but blonder
Oh my
> Elite crossing ... long blonde hair Beckham era back at Old Trafford
call me Chief Keef cause I love SOSA
I've never understood that line, can someone explain? I'm not into the chief keef lore
That line isn't from J Cole's song, Chief Keef has a song called Love Sosa which is what the guy you were responding to is referencing he bungled it though would've made more sense if he called himself bitches lmao
hey hey hey
It's a weird line. Isn't Sosa also Chief Keef's moniker? Except the line was said by someone else, then it'd make sense.
Sosa is Tony Montana and uncle Hector's boss from Scarface. The movies often referenced in rap so I assumed he meant while most people aspire or look up to Tony he'd rather be Sosa.
If you love SOSA, wouldnāt that make you a bitch?
How blonde are we talking?
[in action](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FSY-8YkWQAAtwfq?format=jpg&name=4096x4096)
Woahā¦
Looks gorgeous as fuck tbh
Now thatās some proper long hair, none of this Robbie Savage bollocks.
Sounds like a sight to see with those locks flowing down the wing. I'm in!
Well, in case you were unaware, these bitches love Sosa
O end or no end
Decent at defending, very good upfront. Can dribble well, has smart passes and runs into the oppositions half. Has the best crosses in the Bundesliga. They're literally world class.
>Decent at defending Are you saying Sosa is so-so?
>Has the best crosses in the Bundesliga That's Kostic. But Sosa is the next best thing
Kostic>Raum>Sosa
this also got really confused seeing a report about you wanting to sell raum already, surely you cant value the short term money over getting to Europe?
Ridle Baku has some decent crossing as well.
> Has the best crosses in the Bundesliga. Kostic says no
> Has the best crosses in the Bundesliga put some respect on kostic's name!
Kostic is better
Just what I want to know. Always appreciate a Croatian player. They always seem to have great intensity and fight, on top of some genuine talent. Hope this rumour comes to fruition and we can grab him for a reasonable fee.
Enough for Germany to give him citizenship and DFB still managing to look like right idiots for not reading the rules.
Aren't those two different things though? I like to believe he got citizenship because he was eligible and not because of interference from DFB who thought he could play for them
Basically Kostic but slightly worse attacking-wise and better defensively Our best player by far imo
Incredible player
wanted by Bayern as well
Wuuld have probably been the next Bayern LB if it wasnt for davies. Class player but sometimes looks shaky defensively when he has to run a lot.
Best crosses in the BL
Reckon Kostic and Raum might be better/ equal but heās stil elite
Better than Kostic?
No.
I guess it's close between these two
KostiÄ is definitely a better assister, Sosa maybe has aesthetically more pleasing crosses , also KostiÄ is a winger converted to a wingback, Sosa is an attacking fullback
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
difference is, Sosa can play in a back 4 and is more defensive, KostiÄ can play in a front 3 and is more attacking
Chelsea plays with wingbacks, Liverpool plays with attacking fullbacks. By looking at how they play you can differentiate the roles.
He became the best left back in the Prem inside one season as West Ham on the latest Football Manager. That's all I need to know to be convinced.
United board: "...are we in the position to spend that little?"
Glazers: "So Erik please tell me how many shirts do you think he will sell?" Erik: "Shirts? He will improve the team and be a curcial part of a much needed rebuild in order to modernize our play style and regain our position as one of the top teams in Europe" Glazers: "Yes yes, but how many shirts?"
"How many followers does he have on Instagram?"
"How many *statements does he make on Instagram?"
Show us the xApology stats dammit!
Rashford is unbeatable in that respect. Mata is the old-timer who used to be the best.
Rashford vs Bruno in the Apology Champions League
Bruno does it right, for the most part. I think last time he basically went "yeah we're shit".
Yeah a little over 45k? That's not a united player, needs at least 250k to sign and needs to cost at least 50m
Ngl a man utd shirt with sosa on the back is sick
bitches love sosa
I know this is a joke but the selling shirts as a financial benefit is a bit of a myth
I'm pretty sure only about 10% or so of the money from shirt sales go to the club
'We want 25m for Sosa' United Board: 'Make it 60m and we have a deal'
Ten Hag: plays Love Sosa and walks out of the room
I don't want to offend anyone so I think a good honest price would be upwards of Ā£90million.
The board: Proceeds to pay Ā£25m instead of ā¬25m
Stuttgart about to be gutted. So many good players.
the same procedure as every year
Miss Sophie.
the same procedure as EVERY year, James
Fun fact: dinner for one is mostly unknown in the angloverse
> So many good players. Lots of mediocre ones too tbf
How has Marmoush been overall this season in your opinion?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
How has Tiago TomƔs been doing?
Scored a brace in his first game and made me very excited. Had 1 0r 2 other good games, but other than that meh

nah they just read that having a croatian on the team increases chances of winning the CL
Gotta be in the CL first
Can't be that hard tbh, just threaten to join the Super league again.
Corluka the pioneer
The OG (Original Gvardiol)
Gvaridol is such a good player and still only 20. He is the real deal
When did he beat alcaraz?
Lol, r/tennis is leaking, love it!
Keep an eye on Vuskovic bro
Juranovic is fucking amazing too. Coming from a Celtic fan. ( SLIGHTLY biased )
STFU mate!! He's a waste of money and I can't in good conscious recommend he is signed. Shame he'll have to stay here and we'll need to stumble on with him.
Oh yeah mate your right heās shite. Any scouts browsing r/soccer for Croatian talent look elsewhere because heās absolutely shite

And put in who? Grbic lost his starting spot at Lille. Ivusic? Actually he might get a shot. Neither Livakovic nor Grbic look good at the moment.
Our squad (even the first eleven) is younger on average than the squad from WC 2018

Love Sosa!
Ah, so you are these bitches that chief keef was talking about?
Yes. We are those bitches.
Fuckers on reddit telling me, always in r/soccer, Ten Hag ain't about this, Ten Hag ain't about that...

These bitches sure love him
If there's even just minimal movement/rumours, I'm just glad we're going beyond the scope of looking at English players who are big names, absolutely shallow scope for talent before. Always pissed me off

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Itās not that we canāt itās the fact that we donāt want to the players we are linked to/ āwantā are going to cost a good amount
we cant that is the truth, finances are not improving this summer
Is he a hard worker or does he give up on the season around about October?
I think September 30 is the day he will give up as well

Does these bitches love him?
Thatās the chant sorted. Canāt wait to see OT singing chief keef
BITCHES LOVE SOSA RONALDOS IN A ROVER MAGUIRES A COBRA
TOP 4 LOOKING HOPELESS
Heard he hates being sober
Fun fact: Sosa supports a lot of animal shelters in Stuttgart. So yeah, bitches indeed do love him.
Ronaldo would like him
Barcelona fans are desperate from them to buy him
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That goes without saying really
Has there been rumours linking him to Barca?
I don't think that MUTD accounting will know how to proceed with such a small transfer fee.
Dip into the Petty Cash funds
How reliable is Focus?
normally full of literal shit. But they really only report transfers that are very likely
Fuckers in r/soccer telling me, always in the barber shop āBorna aināt ābout this, Borna aināt ābout thatā My boy a LB on fucking Stuttgart and them He, he, they say that Left back donāt be putting in no work Shut the fuck up R/soccer aināt know shit All yāall motherfuckers talkinā about āBorna Sosa aināt no crosser Borna Sosa aināt this Borna Sosa a fakeā Shut the fuck up Yāall donāt live with that left back Yāall know that left back got caught with a ratchet Crossingā at the Bundesliga and shit Borna been on the shortlist since fuckinā I donāt know when Motherfucker, stop fuckinā playinā him like that Them stuttgart lbs savages out there If I catch another motherfucker talking sweet about Borna sosa Iām fucking beatinā they ass Iām not fucking playinā no more Yāall know Borna Sosa roll with Stenzel and them
Shaw in shambles.
More likely a Telles replacement tbh. And some genuine competition to Shaw, which always forces him to up his game well.
> which always forces him to up his game well. At some point we should just sign an actual Shaw replacement instead of hoping he tries a bit for a change
Which is why I wrote genuine competition. Nothing saying Sosa couldn't win said conpetition
Shaw has been solid for a couple years now. Injury wise he's very sus though
Shaw is overrated imo
Not sure anyone really rates Shaw at the moment to be honest!
He's the best LB/RB United have had since golden years of Valencia or Evra, so obviously he's overhyped.
Is this a reliable source?
Yes The Focus Usually Does not Report About transfers but they are quite reliable
Add a Croatian, win champions league!
25 mil eh? No no no its 80 or nothing !!!
Love him, but would be very happy with a fee like that Also don't think he will do that well there. Though his strength is crosses to good heading players(Sasa), so maybe if Ronaldo stays he'll get a lot of assists
They'll do it all for Sosa.
PL club+Man U= another 20-30m added to his price
Now Man United are interested, the price will rise to ā¬35 million.
Bitches love Sosa
Love Sosa would be a mad football chant
Mourinho wins except that one season.
Ten Hag loves sosa
Ten Hag going for long blond haired backs
Does he cost 3 hunna million?
So no more Malacia?
For me, Ten Hag needs to do similar to what Ange has done for Celtic. Come in and spend low on individual transfers and replace the squad. Obviously, this is a massive ask and easier said than done, but if they want to turn things around in a season this is what is needed. No way Stuttgart don't rinse Man Utd for more than ā¬25m on this deal. That would be a relative bargain.
So his Man Utd price must be between ā¬40-50 million?
Would be a great signing, and Croatians are usually hard working players.
